As an Organisation we have used Winfield Wines on a number of Occasions and Gilbert is always fantastic in making the Event enjoyable and memorable.
Gilbert is an extremely engaging and knowledgeable character and his Passion for Wines from all over the World shines through.
He takes question about Wine as well ( Giving Good Tips on where to Purchase Good Quality at Low Prices)

I booked an online wine tasting experience with Winfield Wines as a Christmas gift for my husband.
A varied selection of wines arrived a few days before the event.
The tasting itself was more personal and interactive than you'd expect for an event hosted on zoom. Gilbert was extremely knowledgeable and took us through each of the six wines, answering questions, inviting feedback and suggesting food pairings. It was a thoroughly enjoyable way to spend a Friday evening, especially for people who find it difficult to attend such events in person due to caring commitments.
A great gift idea.

Gilbert expertly, knowledgeably and with good humour guided us on a tour of Italian wines. The evening was accompanied by plentiful tapas and good company. Gilbert carefully pitched the tasting so that both novice and experienced wine drinkers could all benefit from his depth of knowledge and enthusiasm.

A lovely evening at Jamon Jamon tapas restaurant. We had a private room where Gilbert guided us through a selection of delicious Italian wines. Gilbert had huge wealth of knowledge about wines which he shared in a relaxed, and often humorous way. Looking forward to the next event with him.

Purchased as an Christmas present. Really enjoyed this as you could have a fun time from comfort of own home. Gilbert was very knowledgeable and we learnt a lot

We had a great evening out tasting a variety of wines and spirts in the spanish course. Gilbert opened us up to 3 wines we had never had before, which were fantastic and broadened our horizons. The timing of the wines together with food allowed us to contrast the wine with or without food, with very interesting results. Gilbert deliver was clear and humerous and really kept the evening moving. Fodd was fantastic also, a great all round evening.

My sisters and I took my mum for her birthday and we all had a brilliant time! Not only was both the wine and the food excellent, Gilbert himself was great and very knowledgable! The group we were in also made the evening extra enjoyable. We would highly recommend.

My wife and I attended the The World Wine Tour on 20 September - and we really enjoyed it. The day was fun, entertaining, educational, and obviously full of wine

It was a fabulous day. I always thought tasting 16 wines would be an issue, however Gilbert’s style and knowledge made the day go very well with the tastings being paced perfectly. Keen to share his knowledge he made the significant information fun and intriguing thereby holding our attention throughout the day.
I would happily recommend the day to friends and family.

We enjoyed Wingfield Wines World Tour at the Cote Brasserie few years ago, so this year I bought the Spanish Wine and Tapas evening for my husband Ben for his birthday. I was a little bit apprehensive as he has not been a huge fan of Spanish wines in the past (he’s Italian origin - is it a bit like the English and the Scots? cheerful rivalry?) , but I thought the South American element might interest him. And there’s always Rioja….

Plus - huge draw - the tasting evening is at Jamon Jamon in the REALLY convenient location of Soho.

Didn’t know Jamon Jamon and the private room set aside just for us for the tasting evening was a revelation / very private, colourful pleasant setting. Great service by the waiters. You feel you are attending something special - a good move for a birthday celebration gift.

Gilbert Winfield greeted us with a very warm welcome and, as before, was very chatty and friendly. I remembered that from the World Tour and really liked that, as I have been to other tastings , especially on the Continent (have I mentioned Austria?) where the atmosphere was stuffy, not particularly friendly and therefore a bit intimidating.

This was nothing like that. Very friendly, casual, fun atmosphere, but with lots of attention paid by Gilbert to teaching us as much as he could about the different wines and encouraging us to participate (only if we wanted to) and ask questions, offer opinions etc. Very well organised and focussed on the wines.

The wine selection was very interesting indeed and covered Spain and several South American countries in a comparative and highly informative way. Plenty of wine on offer and no eyebrows were raised if we didn’t use the spittoons and instead drank away. As one of the other guests and I agreed, we were certainly not going to waste the wine by using the spittoons.

Strikes me that Gilbert is a walking encyclopaedia on wine, but manages to convey the information without being patronising, snooty or boring. Quite the opposite in fact. It was a lot of fun, with lots of laughter.

Lastly, there was absolutely no pressure at all to purchase any wines, but if you did want to do so, then the price and where to buy (including from Winfield Wines, but also from Waitrose, Lidl etc.) details were readily accessible.

Oh, yes, lastly lastly, the tapas food was excellent and plentiful (and matched to enhance the wine) - and neither Ben nor I usually like tapas, so that is truly saying something.

Can’t thing of anything I’d ask Gilbert to do differently, and that is also saying something.
Looking forward to other events! Keen to do more. A really entertaining, fun evening where we both learnt a lot. And Ben was very pleased with his birthday gift!

The wine tasting went over and above expectations! Was great value with meal and had the perfect balance of learning and tasting wine :) It was a great group and the wine was fabulous. Gilbert was extremely knowledgeable!

We did an online tasting with Gilbert ( a great Xmas present from out son). Very well organised , good instructions beforehand and Gilbert is knowledgeable and friendly .

A very interesting tour through 16 different wines with very interesting commentary from Gilbert - clearly knows what he is talking about. Also very good value for money as includes a high-standard lunch
