This is the most cost effective way of selling or letting your property. If you are confident and knowledgeable enough to do basically what an estate agent does, then why pay their prices. I would use Visum every time. I’ve used Visum for renting a couple of times and for selling. The best part is that you are in control, you see all the enquiries and can respond within minutes via email. Same end results for minimal costs.

I’ve been using Visum to advertise my properties for the past 7 years. Their portal is very user friendly and tenant find service very easy to use. I’ve recommended them to many buytolet landlords and are my go to company when ever I need to advertise for a tenant.

So simple to use and makes both selling and letting your property quick easy and without all the hassle of Estate Agents. You know your property, it plus and not so plus points, use pictures to your advantage and save a fortune. If I can use it, so can anyone.

Simple to use and affordable, support documents could do with being editable online the printed but that’s not a major issue.

I have always found a tenant through Visum. I've been using them for over 5 years now and consequently have my entire portfolio at Visum. I particularly like the combination of reasonable advertising fee (using both Right move and Zoopla) with myself doing the viewings and tenant checks. I've never had a rogue tenant that way. Setting up takes a while but second lets are literally at the press of a button. I have only had one problem - due to a new build property not having a registered post code. A real person at the help desk quickly contacted me and steered me through the fix. Highly Recommended!

Great Service with full exposure to the market, fully recommended

We find Visum is an excellent choice as hands on landlords. It is inexpensive; the web site is easy to navigate and the staff are efficient and helpful if we do have a problem. Because it is 24/7 prospective tenants can access anytime. We find tenants very easily using Visum.

I sold my house through VISUM without any problems. And persuaded a friend to do the same, again she was delighted by the whole process.
To get the best from this type of service you need to be able to do your own photos; draw floorplans; obtain an EPC certificate; and answer emails/phonecalls from potential buyers, arrange viewings and show people around. We saved several thousand pounds by using VISUM. The website is easy to use and support was fast and helpful for any queries. I'd recommend VISUM to friends.

Possible downside of using an online agent (like VISUM). When we went to make an offer to buy a house, the local high street agents first question usually was "Have you sold your own house, and who is the agent". To assess potential buyers they then want to phone the agent and check the situation, sale progress, etc. This was not possible with an online agent. In several situations where a few people had made offers for the same house, we did not get the house. We have no proof but feel the fact that we did not use a local agent counted against us (from things that were said offhand)

I think the day of the expensive high street agent is on its way out, and in the future companies like VISUM will be the norm. However at the moment there is still a bit of prejudice against those who are undercutting the "usual" system.

Fantastic way to advertise properties
This website works extremely well for us to advertise on Rightmove to obtain the audience we need for enquiries, being a small business we cannot afford to be a direct rightmove user:)

they took £69 from me to advertise my property and then demanded a copy of my passport ( and other personal documents) to advertise on their website!

when questioned Visum claimed that they were duty bound to do it for "money laundering" and "terrorism" reasons which is nonsense as they are not even Estate Agents themselves ( you can check their business categories on Companies House for yourself ) but merely a third party advertising portal that is described in their listing accurately as an "Advertising Agency "( this is different from HMRC private listing which is not in the public domain ) when completing the Visum annual statement at Companies House ( now called the "confirmation statement" ) it confirms that the information held at Companies House which includes the SIC code ( listed as an Advertising Agency ) is correct, and therefore to knowingly give false information is an offence under the Companies Act 2006.

I demanded a refund and the customer service person said they would "pass it to the relevant department" and sure enough nothing happened so I commenced a chargeback compliant via Paypal.

To prove what they were saying is a lie I got it done by OpenRent for just £29! and a free 5 day trial too. ( I did have to send a copy of my house insurance though ) Visum is a badly run company that is just too full of its own importance to give decent customer service and god knows what they do with all those identity documents they harvest?! If you are in any doubt then view the answer by the pompous and arrogant spokesman below whose idea of customer service is to assume that customers are " cheats"
