Unpaid at termination and no written contract
I worked with VideoMed as a medical practitioner and my experience raised concerns regarding payment practices and contractual clarity.
There was no formal written agreement in place. VideoMed confirmed in writing that no formal written agreement had been concluded, yet payment arrangements were later framed differently from what I had initially understood.
Despite having provided services, I remained unpaid at the time the engagement ended, with payment stated to be dependent on medical aid collections. This condition had not been clearly agreed upfront before work was performed.
In addition, certain concerns were only raised at the point of termination rather than being addressed transparently during the engagement.
My experience included:
– No written agreement governing the engagement
– Payment terms not clearly defined in advance
– Payment made conditional on third party receipts after the fact
– Outstanding payment at the time the engagement ended
– Expectations and arrangements changing during the engagement
From a practitioner’s perspective, this creates an unpredictable and high risk working arrangement.
I would strongly advise anyone considering working with VideoMed to ensure that all terms, including payment timelines and conditions, are clearly agreed in writing before providing services.
