Viamatch posted a job listing on…
Viamatch posted a job listing on LinkedIn. It had only been up a singular day and my experience more than matches the given requirements. I clicked "Apply" but it led me to sign up for their platform. I was dubious and should have stopped immediately. It asked for way too many details, such as my full address (completely unnecessary - unless you're data mining). Then it said there are no matches. You cannot look at job listings or even verify they exist, largely because they probably don't exist at all.
If they did, why would I not be able to apply to the job listed on LinkedIn.
If this isn't a complete scam, they're having people sign up to a website with no jobs so that they can show numbers to employers (B2B sales) so they will pay to list jobs on their platform.
They claim this "our platform looks a little different, blah blah blah..." nonsense to obfuscate the truth. That there are no jobs available.
Essentially, I suspect they are lying to users (who do not generate income, because we're essentially their product) to up their user numbers. They do this by listing non-existent roles on platforms like LinkedIn. Otherwise, if there are no pools of applicants to show, why would any employer pay £750-1500 to list roles they could just list on LinkedIn or an established and reputable job board?
If the emperor did indeed have clothes, they'd show them. Not direct job seekers to give over ALL of their personal details to apply for roles that mysteriously disappear once they have signed up.
DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR PERSONAL DATA.
Whoever is tasked with responding to reviews, do not reply to this review with nonsense claims and false placations. Either prove you're legit or take on board the criticisms of the MANY who feel misled and scammed. The only two positive reviews you have come from the same week period in April, and almost everyone has a similar negative story to tell on Reddit.
This approach is not helping you build a reputation. Never mind that some of your responses are downright rude, commenting on typos rather than addressing the same issue almost everyone seemingly has with the platform - not exactly professional or inspiring of trust. At best, this is a very poorly run start-up company. Still time to course correct, I suppose, if you're at all interested in doing so.
Shame on you for taking advantage of people seeking work in good faith.
EDIT/RESPONSE:
That's a nice PR response from you, but what you've actually done is reported my review with Trust Pilot requesting a reference number that you never provided at any stage. I have, however, provided them with emails to prove that I signed up to your website instead.
Additionally, I have already emailed your team to request confirmation that you have deleted my personal data in its entirety, as per my legal rights under Article 17 of UK GDPR. I await that response from them.
You are correct about one thing, being upfront in your listings on job boards should be the way to go. It's basic ethics. The way you phrase these listings outright implies that the applicant will be applying to that role, not handing over personal data for a "matching service" that they didn't explicitly consent to. Maybe basic honesty would be a good starting point and help you build your reputation.
I don't see how further conversation with the team to reiterate what almost all your review have said, none of which you seem to have taken on board, will be a progressive use of anyone's time.
Especially since you've reported my review. Yet more duplicitous behaviour from you, I fear.
Just delete my data, as per your legal requirements as an ICO registered company. Thanks.
EDIT 17/6/26
Since reporting the validity of my review didn’t work because I submitted proof, you then attempted to flag it and have it removed for “defamation” - again, this claim was dismissed after review by Trust Pilot.
You’ve dedicated a lot of time and effort to getting my review taken down, yet I still haven’t received confirmation that you have deleted my personal data in accordance with Article 17 of UK GDPR. Maybe get around to that instead.
