Terrible Experience, Highly Disappointing - Would Not Recommend
I rarely write reviews, but after such a poor experience with this roofing company, I feel compelled to share my frustration in the hopes that others will avoid the same disappointment.
Major Delays and Lack of Communication
The entire process was plagued with delays, particularly when it came to the scaffold. Not only was the scaffold delayed, but there was no communication from the company to inform me of the delay. This forced me to use up my annual leave to accommodate for the work that was supposed to be happening. The worst part? When the scaffold was eventually erected, it blocked off my windows and emergency escape—something I was specifically told would not happen.
Damage and Lack of Accountability
As part of the roof repair, I was promised that a protective sheet would be placed over my conservatory roof prior to starting the work. This did not happen, and as expected, damage occurred. While I understand that some damage is inevitable in such jobs, the lack of accountability was the real issue. Despite providing photos of the damage I was offered no clear solution or compensation for the damage.
Flue Replacement Quotation Issues
I was quoted for a full flue replacement, but after the work was completed, they tried to increase the price because part of the flue pipework needed replacing. This was frustrating, as the original quote clearly covered the full replacement, and there was no mention that additional costs could arise. This felt like a bait-and-switch tactic. They also tried to use this as collateral for the damage that occurred to my conservatory which i found completely out of line.
Unprofessional Behavior and Disrespect for Property
The workers were also careless with my property. Despite instructing them not to go on a side shed roof (as it had become unstable), they ignored my instructions, causing further damage to the roof after one of them stepped on it. There was no accountability for this damage, either. Additionally, I had to deal with workers rushing through the job because they were concerned about missing traffic on their way home. This is not something a paying customer should ever hear, and it made me question the quality of work being done.
Miscommunication and Wasted Time
I was also promised ample time for scaffold dismantling, as I work shifts and the team would need access through my house to reach the back scaffold. Despite this, they showed up early in the morning after I had just finished a night shift—again, with no prior notice. To make matters worse, they initially told me the scaffold would be taken down that day, only to inform me later that it wouldn’t happen because of another van not showing up to collect the equipment. They rescheduled for the next day, which meant another early morning after a night shift, and then didn’t even show up. Again, no phone call, no explanation, just more wasted time.
Disappointing Customer Service and Experience
After the initial meeting, I felt reassured by their professionalism and the fact that they provided all the necessary accreditations and certificates. Their quote was significantly higher than others, but I trusted that I was paying for a hassle-free and professional service. Unfortunately, this was far from the truth. The entire process was stressful, unorganized, and incredibly unprofessional. Customer service was lacking, and I felt completely disregarded throughout.
Conclusion
I strongly advise anyone considering roofing work to avoid this company at all costs. What should have been a simple roof repair turned into a complete nightmare—one full of delays, miscommunication, poor workmanship, and zero accountability for damage caused. I’ve even told my neighbors, who were considering using them, to look elsewhere.
The experience was extremely disappointing, and the customer relations were shockingly bad.
Would not recommend. Save yourself the headache and choose another company.
