United Overseas Bank Service is extremely poor
Customer retention at United Overseas Bank is extremely poor. The overall experience from the application process to the mobile app and customer service has been consistently unsatisfactory.

I wish I could leave a positive review but even though I’m a Privilege Customer, the service I get from my RM is totally less than inspiring. I hold less in my accounts with DBS, Stanchart, HSBC and Hong Leong Bank but the service I receive from them is far better – particularly from Hong Leong Bank & DBS. Additionally, UOB’s charges for transfers to Malaysian banks is also exorbitant. UOB’s RMs seemed to make it their life’s duty to make customers feel insignificant and completely unimportant. I recently called it and spoke to a female member of staff at the Customer Service department to lodge my complaint and was assured that I would receive a reply from an senior Relationship Team officer either the same day or the next. It has been at least 4 days and still crickets!! to say that UOB is an appallingly bad bank would be a gross understatement. I shall be moving my funds out of it once second arrange certain investment platforms to accept the change in accounts.

I am very disappointed with UOB’s handling of my account. Despite settling my balance before the due date stated in my official statement, I was still charged additional interest afterwards. This is unacceptable because customers rely on the due date printed in the statement, not some undisclosed internal calculation.
On top of that, UOB promised to contact me during the appeal period regarding my waiver request, but they never reached out by phone, email, or SMS. The lack of communication and transparency shows serious negligence in customer service.
I expect banks to be clear, consistent, and reliable. In this case, UOB failed on all counts.

UOB provide all the usual banking services. Opening an account requires a lenghy session but once done they do everything well. I have banked with them for about four years and have never had any problems with them. Their TMRW app is pretty intuitive and works well. I deduct a star because their branches are always very busy if you need couner service, though staff are helpful.
Unethical Business Practices
The bank keeps charging me late fees for my credit cards that are unwaiveable, despite me making my payments within the month.
Obnoxious (non)service by acct mgmt staff
Obnoxious service by the staff at account management side. While the staff at counter side were helpful and efficient, the staff at account management side were openly standing around chatting with each other, despite knowing that customers waiting for their services that could not be done by counter staff, (e.g. opening new FD accounts) have been waiting for almost an hour! Even if they needed to skive, they were so obnoxious to do it right in front of customers without closing their doors. There were no attempts to manage customer expectations and when we reflected to the counter staff who helped get the branch manager to talk to them, we saw them audaciously ignoring the helpless branch manager and go on chit chatting with one another in front of waiting customers. Knowing this is their attitude in front of customers, I think its best to put your money elsewhere. These account managers do not deserve the commission. I rather give it to the counter staff.

Their services are really lousy and when you request for a fee waiver, answer is always NO! I do not see other banks behaving like this bank does. I regretted being their customer.
The worst banking experience
UOB is the worst bank in Singapore. Their customer service is horrible. I've been a royal customer for like a decade. Now I'm overseas and using UOB account. Their UOB TMRW app sometimes has issues. It locked my account for invalid OTP despite the fact that the OTPs were correct. Called them via phone multiple times. Instead of giving the solution to my problem, the lady who assisted on the phone was very rude. Also, I followed up with emails, but it took like a week to get their reply and when they reply also, there is no convenient solution for overseas customer. I used DBS and OCBC as well. Both of them have very quick and flexible customer services whereas UOB's customer service is sacked.
UOB’s Incompetence Cost Me Double Annual Fees – No Apology, No Accountability
I had a UOB Lady’s Card which was later upgraded to a Lady’s Solitaire. After the upgrade, I specifically called UOB to request closure of my old Lady’s Card. They assured me it would “automatically close after some time,” but it never happened.
Over the course of a year, I kept calling to follow up, and every time I was given the same empty reassurance. Fast forward one year — UOB double charged me annual fees on both the old Lady’s Card and the Lady’s Solitaire.
When I called to complain, they finally processed the closure of the Lady’s Card — but flat-out refused to waive the Solitaire annual fee, even as a goodwill gesture for their mistake. To make matters worse, there was no apology, no compensation, and plenty of rudeness from their staff.
If this is how UOB treats customers after their error, I would strongly advise against banking with them or using their credit cards. Irresponsible, unprofessional, and utterly disappointing.

Horrible bank to put your deposit with. They put in a lot of caveats for deposit promotions so that they can avoid paying you the bonus interest after delaying for a long time by quoting a small excuse! They refused to pay the bonus interest in my stash account just because of $4 difference in balance. Avoid this bank!

Why I can't pay via credit card with my cell phone? All the time I have to carry my credit card, and other banks have already that kind of service. I want to pay with credit card over my USB application. A lot of other banks can, apple can, why not UOB???

I have to call in each time to appeal and subject to approval. Other banks either waive easily, auto waive even before we requested it or free for life. UOB has the poorest customer service and management. It is too bad 1 star is the lowest I can give.

My uob app isn't responding nearly 1 week alredy.so I went my nearest uob branch, New Bridge Branch,China town on 27th May at 11.30am.that time bank bit busy.but no soo much.when I entered inside reception lady was there.She was miss Shin. She asked my issue.when i told my issue she told me that go and check wheather my phone got any viruses or not. I told nothing happened.but she never trusted me. She allow me to wait some time and she treated to other customers.I don't no the problem is my race because I saw she treated soo well to other races customers.she treated me soo rude.i feel guilty.she is no empathetic.when I waiting there the other male staff come to me,asked my issue and he treated me soo wel.I feel so sad because I forgot to see his name.He resolve my problem within 2 to 3 min.i thanked him a lot.i wanted to share this bad experience because I don't want to face this kind of issues to others.thank you

zero due-diligence on their end...
received an "exclusive" invite to sign up for a choice between 3 credit cards based on my salary credited into the bank, took a while for me to research and select 1 to apply for only to be rejected. what a lame bank, can't even do their due diligence behind. I have no issues applying for other credit cards and they are the only ones rejecting my application AFTER inviting me. Definitely will not establish any banking relationship with them anymore.
