Our experience so far has been very positive
I had pre existing conditions which were covered with this company via our flexpus account for a fraction of what we would have paid elsewhere. When I notified them of a recent flare up with oine of my conditions I expected a vast increase or a "no we wont insure" thankfully neither was the case and I still have cover (though with a bit of extra cost) for my forthcoming trips

Absolutely Brilliant Gold Star Service

Sorry to buck the trend in the previous review but we have had the most excellent service ever. I was very sceptical of relying on this type of package it being included within the benefits of my Flex Plus account but our experience has totally assured us and we hope those reading.
My wife fell and fractured the neck of her femur just 27 days prior to departure on a 2 week holiday to the Canaries. The tour operator just referred me to the small print authorising them to just repay 10% despite the chosen hotel advertising their policy allowing cancellation up to noon on the day of arrival and they could obviously re-sell our plane seats.
Logged the claim with Nationwide Travel Insurance and they were so helpful, kind, considerate and accommodating. Obtained necessary certification from her consultant and today 14 days after the incident we have been fully reimbursed by them obviously less the £50.00 excess and TUI's 10% contribution.
Who could ever wish for better service than that and all without hassle or delay, thank you Nationwide and UK Travel Ins and I hope this goes some way to balance the negativity in previous reviews.

Holiday cancellation cover quickly agreed and paid.

Last Saturday, we decided that my wife was too unwell to travel, so called UK Insurance as they provide travel insurance for Nationwide Building Society. After taking our details we were told that our claim could not be accepted at that stage, as we had to be told by a medical practitioner that she was unfit to travel. We were advised to contact 111, and were then called back by a doctor who decided that my wife was medically unfit to travel.
The company used to be open throughout the week-end, but is now closed on Saturday afternoon and all day Sunday (a big backwards step). However, when we called on Monday, having also got confirmation that our holiday was not refundable, we were told that our claim would be passed forward for approval. On Tuesday, we received a text saying that the payment would be made, and it was in our account on Friday, without us needing to send any documentation at any stage.

Their customer contact number is unreachable. Tried twice and was left holding for 20 and then 30 minutes before I gave up. If so busy, simply train and employ more staff. They take your money and give poor service in return. Dont bother and look elsewhere.

Completely pointless travel insurance…

Completely pointless travel insurance product through Nationwide. My one star rating is generous. My flight was cancelled two hours before it was due to leave and the replacement I was offered was a week later. I booked a hotel and train travel home for the next day yet they won't accept my claim for any of this.
The travel insurance is the only reason I have a platinum account.

Staff attitude

What annoys me about this company is that some lad in a call centre, considers that he is in a position to educate me about the medication I take.

He has no medical qualifications and no experience, yet feels he is able to offer an opinion as to types of drugs and their dosage.

Complete rip-off and scam via Natwest

This company is a fraud operation. They underwrite Natwest insurance which is sold to "Platinum" clients by Natwest. When you make a claim, they take forever to deal with it, make you hold on the phone for 45 + minutes to get some one to talk to you, and then reject your claim for absurd reasons.
I was caught up in the ATC meltdown during Bank Holiday weekend trying to fly back to the UK. Had to rebook hotels and new flights as Ryanair were their usual bundle of joy to deal with, plus travel and food costs added for 2 more days before I got back to the UK.
This company rejected my claim because the flight back to the UK was not delayed for 4 + hours before being cancelled by Ryanair. Given that allflights were cancelled suddenly, maybe I should have asked Ryanair to hold on for a few hours before cancelling the flight for this company.
I'm pursuing a complaint with the ombudsman against them, fingers crossed. Will also contact the media to make people aware of this organisation.

So my flight was cancelled while I was waiting at the gate. I lost the accommodation, I paid for parking, and I paid to get to the airport. I tried to make a claim to be told that's not covered. My situation is the definition of why you would have travel insurance and they are refusing to help me.

DO NOT TOUCH THEM WOTH A BARGE POLE IF YOUR’E A NATWEST CUSTOMER UNLESS YOU WANT ONE OF THEIR STAFF TO SELL YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION ON!

These are the underwriters of all NatWest Insurance. A manager of U.K. Insurance openly admitted that someone has toggled my marketing to off allowing them to sell my information to whomever they like, breaching GDPR regulations.

Terrible company, Terrible service

Terrible company, impossible to reach via telephone and never respond to emails. I lodged a complaint with them which also has been ignored... it is a shame as all UKI companies (Direct Line, Churchill, Privilege) used to be easy to deal with years ago but they are now one of the worse insurance groups out there... AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!

Great result

Had an issue with an upgrade payment going through twice. It seemed that it had not gone through online, so I rang the company and paid direct. When I checked my bank balance, the payment had indeed been taken twice.
The bank were pathetic, said they would investigate but a result could take up to 120 days. I called UKinsurance and spoke to an agent called David (I don't know his surname). He was fantastic, really sympathetic and kept me informed about what was going on. He asked the backroom team to investigate and called me a few days later to tell me they had found the second payment and had instigated a refund. I know it's exactly what they should have done, but nevertheless I was very relieved and grateful they had sorted it. So full marks David and the rest of the team.
The bank, Virgin Money, have still not got back to me.....

RBS renter content insurance.leak on the dishwasher water travelled into the lounge lifting the laminated flooring uk insurance Ltd rejected how claim underwriters for uk insurance Ltd claiming it came under building insurance. And not content ridiculous flooring the we had put down is a content the dishwasher which was the offender is content the fabric of the dwelling did not cause the problem. Keep well away from this money grabbing company.

An insurance company that employs thugs and bullies. Record you calls as these make statements that they latter seem to not want to accept. Threatened me telling me the call was recorded - when asked, the recording hadn't worked just for my call! Convenient!?

What an utter shambles this company is. One of the most inconpetent companies I have ever come across. They never answer the phone and when I got to speak to someone they were equally incompetent and starting talking about another claim not mine.
They paid me out initially after 2.5 years but snatched back some of the settlement they had already agreed. They communicate via no reply emails and have yet to see a final settlement letter dispite asking several times.
Its not surprising they do not comment on the feedback left here as they cannot defend the indefendable.
I took out this cover through my Nationwide FlexPlus account, and whilst they have made some effort to resolve this, they simply repeat parrot fashion what UK Insurance have told them which is utter rubbish.
I thought Nationwide were better than this but sadly not.

Absolutely awful

Absolutely awful. Don't answer the phone. Claim 22nd March 2022. Advised they'd pay 4 weeks ago - nothing!
2 complaints and no answer.
Check they are not underwriting your policy! Mine is via Nationwide who are equally inept.

Hanging on by a thread

I submitted an insurance claim in March on my Nationwide flex plus account. We were burgled on holiday and had thousands of pounds worth of items taken, including passports.
I have submitted close to 100 receipts for taken items. Each time I get an email after 3 or 4 weeks stating they need additional information. This additional information is then sent to the back of the queue and looked at 4 weeks later. I was initially told that they had everything they needed, so who knows. Last week they advised me to submit a complaint about how long the process is taking….I’ve just received an email to state it’ll be looked at by 13 June! It’s a shambles. I don’t care about the complaint I just want to get paid for the items stolen, ‘covered’ under my insurance! Currently on the phone waiting on hold….
I told one of the workers that they need to employ more staff at the rate they’re going and he got very shirty with me, telling me how they’re working longer. It’s pretty simple, if you gave this many customers, you should employ far more workers to meet demand and it should not fall to the customers to take the flack! Wondering if I’ll ever receive my claim!

Stuck in India. Have cover through Nationwide FlexPlus account. I don’t have access to a phone. Can only email. No option to email them. I’ve tried to locate an email address - impossible. Nationwide is the same. No email addresses. Only phone numbers. Outrageous. Appalling. Disgusting.

Impossible to contact - Nationwide Flexplus Travel Insurance

Insurance provided via Nationwide Flexplus account costing £13 pm. Accessed my online insurance to make changes to annual travel insurance cover. Was told to phone UK Insurance. Held for 15 mins and was cut off. Held again for interminable announcements advising me to use the online service and apologies for delay in answering the call for 1 hour 7 secs and finally gave up. No alternative means of contacting via email given. Appalling service and am very dissatisfied with the so-called benefit of a Nationwide Flexplus account.
