Disappointed… again
Last month I rented one of your devices and it was missing the password! I had to call the company to get the password because it had been rubbed off and one of your employees was too lazy or too stupid to put on a fresh label. This month I have rented a device that neither charges nor works. I paid for the fastest speed and the device will not charge even with another cord. TRP clearly does not care about their product or customer satisfaction. The person packing the item didn’t even include an envelope! In past years TEP had always provided good service and a good product but the company must have been bought by someone who neither cares about customer service or the quality of the product. If I could give a lower rating than 1 star I would. I’ll be curious to see if this review ever come up on their site!

Ordered a wifi hotspot rental for a two week rental. It arrived a week late after contacting the company over 10 times. Each day the company would claim it had been delivered when it was not. I inccured more data costs then the cost of the rental because of the delay and they offered a small refund. Unreliable customer service. The company needs to correct their delivery issues.

I booked 10 GB for 10 days in Spain, where I needed to do a few full days webinars, which I was conducting. Tough! The speed with the mobile data of my smartphone was more than the up- and download rates of travelers wifi ... They tried to shift to a different provider, but that didnt work either,
Customer service was very fast but couldn't come up with a solution - so I had to book a room in a coworking place for a lot of money, because travelerswifi didn't work. There was no offer for any kind of concession by travelers wifi for the fuss (so far)

I had a spotty experience with TravelWifi in the US. First, I was enable to contact customer service over the phone and they were able to give me a credit for data that I had not used in Argentina some time ago. Then, more recently, I tried in vain several days to reach their customer service in preparation for a trip to France: very frustrating.
When I arrived in Paris, I went to their store and received first rate technical support. Their team in Paris is outstanding.

I have been using the Wifi from them for a year to be honest the speed is really slow but acceptable. Now since half a month I do not have signal at all and they took like 10 days to find out that they cut my internet due to mistake. I asked for 50% monthly fee refund for this month but they declined. Guys, I paid the whole month but I can’t use the service for half a month. They are scammers! Please do not sign up for this company!

I rented the Sapphire Travel Wifi for my recent trip to London and Paris. Upon arriving, it worked for maybe 2 hours, then stopped working. I figured the battery might be dead, so I charged it for a few hours, but it still didn't work. I spoke to someone at their customer service, who said I should try to charge it overnight. So I did, but it still didn't work and they had no other solutions for me. For the rest of my trip, I had to pay my cell phone service a daily charge to use roaming, which was very expensive. Travelwifi told me to ship it back and they'll refund me once they receive it. I returned their device over a month ago, and I still have not received my refund even after multiple attempts to contact them. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS FRAUDULENT COMPANY!
spotty device and terrible customer service
The travel wifi was pretty spotty in Montreal and barely worked in quebec city. I accidently forgot to put the device in the case when I returned it and got a nasty email saying i was going to get charged for the lost device. I later found out all the emails were going to my spam. They didn't even try to contact me via phone or mail. Anyways im going through circles with terrible customer service reps. They all have an attitude and accusatory tone. I just want to return the device correctly, remove the lost device charge, and get reimbursed for the days the device failed to work.
Not only hidden VAT costs but a 'disbursement' fee too ...!
Wish I had read an earlier review here before buying - buyer with the same experience.
Good machine - but significant hidden costs >£40 to cover a combination of VAT (website says VAT is included) and just to add insult to injury, a disbursement fee by customs / FedEx.
Query response seems to be 'bot' generated and emotionless / uncaring.
1* for a great machine but negative 4* for hidden costs and poor customer service..
Poor Value for Money in my humble opinion. Should have bought an eSIM as now I'm stuck with an unexpectedly expensive piece of kit that I can only hope will work for long enough to be able to recoup the hidden costs.

Everything is a mess. They lose information of your address, their system charges an incorrect amount and collapses. I did not think this level of service is possible in the United States before I was unfortunate enough to engage with travelwifi
The worst service and product ever!!!!
The worst service and product ever!!!!! Do not bother! Overpriced (£105 for 14 days!!) for an ancient 200 kbps connection. I call them, they blame I used the data I bought but when I do not use it all day then try to log onto my laptop in the evening for 2 minutes the connection is equally bad. Sometimes does not connect at all. I am doing everything on 4G instead. Customer service simply ignore mails. Just shockingly bad. Never again!!!
Used in France, Guatemala & Greece w/ No Issues

I only lost connection a few times in Guatemala, as we drove from GC to Honduras, which I found very impressive! Had no issues in Greece and was SO glad to have it when hotel WiFi sucked in the evenings. I like it so much that I've purchased one for future travels!

I hoped there was a zero rating for this service but clearly not! I’ve been in France for 10 days and paid 170 euros for a travel wifi device from the local tourism centre. I’ve spent more than that on my 7/8 calls a day to the support team to check why the device isn’t working. It’s utterly useless. Don’t bother buying or renting. Pay fir your mobile phone provider to give you unlimited data and 4g. I have no wifi no tv and can’t work on my month long trip to France. Worst service ever
Misleading and deceitful company
Extraordinarily misleading and deceitful company. I purchased a travel wifi from them and nowhere during the ordering process was I informed that I would be responsible for paying duties. I received a bill from Fedex for a £60 duties charge. When I raised it with Travelwifi they told me that on their FAQ page they state that customers outside the EU are liable to pay duties. I'm sorry but how can they expect customers to see this if it is not clearly stated during the ordering process? I am now stuck with the device as I do not want to incur any more costs, but I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone.

I purchased their wifi device and paid an overnight shipping fee, one whole week before my departure date. And? I still have not received anything one day before my flight!! I had to call them twice, and emailed them twice to follow up. Their response is very frustrating -- "we will let our logistics team know" "we need the tracking # to update to know when it is delivered" "we are monitoring it" -- all sounds like promises but with no actions!
If you don't want to be stressed out, don't take the risk and don't go with them!

Hopefully, they'll start delivering the devices at Paris airports again soon, as was the case pre-covid. When that happens, the only slight inconvenience about using that company will disappear.
It's flawless all the way: the devices work well, they're easy to use, you return them using a pre-paid postage envelope, it's all good!
But the customer service is what has made me a customer for life. Any question, any email gets answered friendly and positively within hours. There's even a live chat function on the website and since the company is now international, there is almost always someone (a human, not a bot) available in a convenient time zone to answer the chat immediately.

My first time renting a portable wifi hotspot for my Iceland vacation last week and TravelWifi delivered above and beyond! I scheduled the rental for Wednesday departure when I am already in Iceland, but my true departure to Iceland is Tuesday. I was so worried I would not get the hotspot in time but it was delivered by Friday via UPS Next Day Air! What's even better is that it comes with Tep's global travel adapter so I didn't have to buy one for my travel. Unfortunately I didn't read the instructions that I could twist the metallic prongs to extend it to fit the Iceland plugs and ended up buying a terrible USB adapter in Iceland for almost $17! The Sapphire 2 hotspot worked flawlessly throughout our road trip in Iceland from west coast to east coast along the south coast. We used it mainly so we could be connected to Google Maps and find our way around this foreign country. The best rental decision. I would rent again or even buy if I ever need this service again in the future.
