Ayodhya, Pragyaraj, Varanasi - Experience my India - Vrindavan Tour packages
I am giving **3 stars** because the hotels provided during the trip were good. However, our overall experience with the transportation and tour arrangements was disappointing.
We were a group of six traveling for six days to **Ayodhya, Prayagraj, and Varanasi**, including two parents aged 75+, a 10-year-old child, and the rest of the family. Unfortunately, we had to struggle for almost every arrangement from the moment we landed at the airport.
The first issue occurred at the airport itself. The driver remained in the parking area instead of waiting at the arrival entrance. Despite explaining that we had elderly parents using wheelchairs, he refused to come to the entrance, forcing us to push the wheelchairs all the way to the parking lot.
The difficulties continued the next day. The driver refused to drop us at the Ayodhya temple entrance, so we had to take rickshaws with the guide to reach the temple.
At the temple, we had been promised a special darshan. However, all of our Aadhaar numbers had been printed incorrectly on the passes, and the security personnel denied us entry. As a result, we missed the scheduled special darshan. The guide made an effort to help and was able to arrange wheelchair-assisted special darshan for my elderly parents, while the rest of us had to go through the regular queue.
Only after repeated complaints and several rounds of follow-up did the tour operator arrange another special darshan later that night. Even then, they were able to secure passes for only four of the six members of our group.
On the third day, before leaving for Prayagraj, we wanted to visit the Sarayu Ghat as it was already included in our itinerary. However, the driver refused to take us there. He contacted his supervisor at Ma Sumitra Travels, who demanded additional payment for the visit, even though it was part of the agreed itinerary. We had to make multiple calls to Manish, Sathish, and others before the issue was finally resolved. Even then, the driver still refused to drive us to the ghat, claiming his vehicle could not reach the location and insisting that we get down at a distance and hire an auto-rickshaw instead.
Our disagreements with the driver continued throughout the trip. He would stop the vehicle wherever he wished for lunch or personal breaks, ask all of us to get down, and keep us waiting until he returned. He also refused to keep the air conditioning running while the vehicle was stationary, despite the extreme summer heat. Every time this happened, we had to help our elderly parents get out of the vehicle and look for a place where they could sit and rest, causing them unnecessary discomfort.
After reaching Prayagraj, the driver again refused to follow the planned itinerary for local sightseeing, forcing us to hire auto-rickshaws at our own inconvenience. Despite repeatedly raising complaints about his behavior, no effective action was taken. Instead, we were told to continue with the same driver and vehicle for the journey to Varanasi the following day.
Another disappointing incident occurred at Triveni Sangam. The driver refused to drop us at the designated access point and left us farther away, creating significant difficulty for our elderly parents. Because of this, my father was unable to reach the Sangam comfortably and could not take the holy dip, which was one of the main reasons for undertaking this pilgrimage.
Overall, while the hotel accommodations were satisfactory, the transportation arrangements were poorly managed. The repeated itinerary deviations, lack of coordination, errors in the darshan arrangements, inadequate support for senior citizens, and the constant need to argue for services that had already been promised made what should have been a peaceful pilgrimage unnecessarily stressful and exhausting.
