Terrible customer service. Purchased a tent a few months ago, ripped on first use, no storms or anything crazy. Torpedo 7 wont answer my emails

Absolutely awful customer service at the Dunedin store, was ignored by the staff and was given judgemental looks when asking for help. Terrible
Avoid at all costs
Avoid at all costs. Ordered online 25/11 click and collect and showing available stock in-store. its been over 3 weeks and still not ready to collect. Response is that they experienced overwhelming response during black Friday sales. Well, so did a lot of other companies and they didn't have the same issues. Generic responses to emails and gave up on customer support phone after waiting 45mins on hold. Amateur hour. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!!
Worst after-sales experience!
The after sales support has been incredibly poor. Only wish i had read the reviews. Spent a lot of money on a treadmill, only to be disappointed with the lack of clear instruction manual for setting it up, and over a month later, multiple phone calls and emails, I'm still waiting for support from Torpedo 7 to get it setup correctly. Will not purchase anything from them again. 0800 number and the various email addresses I've been given have been an absolute waste of time.

Torpedo7 are the worst company to deal with, I'm surprised they still remain in business. They recently had a special on for bike parts, about $500 worth, which I purchased for "click and collect" online.
After waiting a week and numerous calls and emails to their support staff. They finally advised that they were not sure when I could collect and in fact were not sure if there was even remaining stock. They simply said I just needed wait because it was a busy time.
It's clear their stock system is a mess and that online sales are not connected to direct retail sales. It should be called "click and pray".
I was finally offered a refund...

Really wish I had checked reviews!!!! ordered a Christmas present still have had no tracking reference - emailed they said they will get back to me in 10 days are you kidding it will be Christmas by then so so disappointed - Im going to cancel my order!

Really unhappy. Ordered an expensive item two weeks ago and still no dispatch email. Nowhere to contact anyone. I needed this item before Christmas and I don't trust this will happen. Not even sure if I can get a refund. Wish I'd checked reviews on this company before buying.

Worst experience ever - would never buy from torpedo 7 - Ordered a Camping 6 shelf Pantry via click and collect on Friday 22nd November and still two weeks later I still haven’t received a email or product - Rung store several times and in the end they didn’t answer and customer service still no reply-
so have finally cancelled as not sure when I will receive it

Online order- they cancelled our order after we waited a week to collect, but are still selling the item online, but for $99 more than we paid for it.
We ordered a sun shelter, on sale- for $200 from click and collect a week ago. we have been waiting to be told when we can pick it up in store- hoping before camping this week. Today we got a vague message saying they are cancelling our order, because it doesnt meet their online quality standards.... and will process a refund, but I can see they are still selling the shelter- but for $99 more than we paid for it ? If they still have it- why can't they get it to us ? I sent a couple emails suggesting they contact us rather than cancel the order, and have been waiting on their customer wait line for 30+ minutes. I can't believe their score is so low on trust pilot! had no idea they were so sus.

Terrible customer service took 3 weeks to get a reply to my email only to be told that I'm not a club member unless I receive all there promotional emails so therefore I don't get the 20% discount from the add that popped up directly after I pushed the purchase button. Stupid me for thinking I was signed up for the last 3 years.

I purchased a treadmill from one of their stores almost two years ago, and it didn’t last long before it stopped working. I’ve reached out multiple times via email and phone regarding the warranty, and I was assured a technician would come to check the unit. However, it’s been over two months since my initial email, and there has been no update or progress. Every time I call, I’m left waiting for an hour only to be disconnected. Their voice recording suggests emailing, which I’ve done, but I never receive a response. This experience has been incredibly frustrating and disappointing. I would never ever recommend this store to anyone! It feels like the company simply doesn’t care.

Stay away!!!! Said tent and airbed in stock to collect! Weekend ruined with no tent no apology no nothing! Of course they’ve taken the money but given me nothing! Stay away ….. criminals!
Pleasantly surprised!
I was really hesitant to place an order with Torpedo7 again after their crash and burn in 2023/early 2024. However, they had the hiking boots I was after on sale, so I decided to hedge my bets and give them another try under the new ownership. I placed my order early this morning and half an hour later I was notified that my order had been dispatched! There was an issue with tracking which I sent off an email about and received a response and resolution a short time later. My package has already been picked up from Torpedo7 and is with the courier. I am happy and VERY relieved, Torpedo7 seems to have turned around from their previous troubles. Long may it continue!
I bought my son a surf board from here…
I bought my son a surf board from here for his birthday. A part connecting the fin came off on the first use. I went back to the store and asked for a replacement part. They said they didn't have anything that day but would get back to me. I never heard back. I talked to their online help twice and they also never got back to me. It never got fixed.
The customer service
The customer service, website, and inventory management are all terrible. Many products are listed as in stock online for specific stores, but when you go to the store, they're not available. Conversely, there are plenty of items in-store that aren't listed online. This has been a chaotic situation for months. Don't even bother with click-and-collect; if the store suddenly runs out of stock—even if it was available when you ordered online for click and collect—your order won't be fulfilled. You'll end up waiting weeks with no resolution. It's better to cancel your order and just buy a new one with home delivery. Worst retail store in NZ at the moment. Hopefully they improve though.

I got great bargains and no problem returning to local store is something was wrong. I think they lost some bike hooks and I never got a credit but I can't complain.
Best bargain was Nordica speed machine 100 ski boots for $190 last pair in my size fit perfectly.
Now none of the end of line stuff is available online, so I don't think anyone outside Chch will get a bargain... But I got some, back in the day... They don't need my money anymore. Goodluck. I got sick of getting emails but the best sale items are in store. Seen it dozens of time and just feel gaslit now. Cbf.
Never again
I bought something online and they sent the wrong item. No worries, things happen. I printed their label, took it to the PO and sent it back. I got the next package, and they had sent the same wrong item again. I couldn't believe it. Now I have to send it back to them again and then I'll be able to get my refund. This is now weeks later.
Not As Good As They Used To Be
Torpedo 7 have really gone downhill.
Despite hours of my time chasing up an order placed November 26th of last year, either in store, or on the phone, either being transferred, or on hold, I am still waiting.
Torpedo 7 have easily become the worst retail experience I have ever encountered.
Would not recommend ever again.
Received home gym 5 months late
Received home gym 5 months late. Used equipment for 3 weeks and product had faulty issues and broke. Contact Torpedo 7 and we are into 5 weeks unresolved and counting
