Bath store. Nice place, unfriendly staff. Arrived 3 minuets before my slot booked for 11am. Sign on window read "open" whilst door was left ajar. I made my way in and was met by a staff member with a look of contempt on his face. I then made my way into the shop and waited at the till until the same staff member setup the tills. At this point I realise they weren't quite ready to receive members of the public (contrary to the sign on the window) and at no point did he say anything to me while I waited. Then another member of staff joined him and she said to him, "It's not 11 o'clock yet is it?" He replied, "No it isn't" right in front of me... It made me feel like a burden rather than a valued customer.

Very happy with the purchase, products and delivery time. I do agree that it would be nice if the postage costs were upfront though.

Disappointed that they don't declare their shipping charges until you've input your payment details. Once shipping is included, all of the savings are eaten up.
ALSO : Logging into PayPal took multiple attempts. Strange, as my account and passwords are stored in an app, so not a typo. The only other time this has happened, I had my account details hijacked. I shall be watching my paypal transactions over the next few days!

We have visited thirsty meeples many times and had a great time with attentive staff and yummy food, unfortunately today we were not impressed. The food wasn't great, dry stale bread and unlike previously no one came to ask if we wanted any further drinks. The normal joy of this place is trying out new games which the staff explain how to play. This visit we asked 3 times for staff to help recommend games/tell us instructions and no one did apart from the initial game. We were at the café from 11am until 2pm. We asked at 12pm for assistance and were told that they didn't have time as new people were arriving, we asked again at 1pm and were told that someone would help us shortly. At 1.30pm we asked again as we only had half an hour left and were told we be added to the list. No one came over. Not great service atall.

Bought a limited edition board game online. Was shipped the same day, arrived the next in perfect condition and packaged as you would want it to be for a limited edition item. Recommended!

Order processed quickly and efficiently. Excellent customer service as well - I accidentally placed the order twice as it appeared it hadn’t gone through the first time. I received an email first thing the next morning from the company proactively checking whether this was an error and then when I told them it was immediately arranging refund.

Extremely helpful and knowledgeable staff, always friendly to talk to. Whenever I've ordered on their website the games have been really well packaged and arrived quickly. I fully recommend!

One member of staff was in my opinion rude. As a wheelchair user it's difficult to access the shop, so I positioned my chair in the only place possible. I was asked to move it, which I was happy to do if they would tell me where to put it. The reply I got was "the roof". Now, I get this was a joke, however it made me feel like I was a burden and unwanted. These sort of comments are unprofessional, and I won't be returning. Good comedy punches up, it doesn't make those that already struggle everyday to feel bad about themselves.

I think it's worth pointing out that this is disability discrimination, as defined on citizensadvice.org which states that

"It is disability discrimination if someone is harassing you because of your disability. You may be able to take action about this.

"Someone is harassing you if you find their behaviour towards you offensive, frightening, degrading, humiliating or in any way distressing. Examples of harassment could involve nicknames, teasing, name-calling, pulling faces, jokes, pranks or any other behaviour which you find upsetting because of your disability. Even if this behaviour is not deliberately meant to hurt you, it may still count as discrimination if you find it upsetting."

Another awkward moment occurred when someone brought in food from KFC. Now, its perfectly reasonable to ask him to leave, however, it doesn't require any more than that. Weirdly, the guy asked us all to look at him directly and then said we were literally eating his rent in front of him. Now this is just hyperbole since it makes no difference at all if someone eats in a cafe or eats outside of the cafe to one's income. I understand that it could affect profit if that guy was going to order food, but he wasn't and never would, because the food is overpriced. It really spoiled the atmosphere. This could have been dealt with in a much more pleasant manner by simply asking him to leave. Again, no additional comments, snarky remarks, weird power-tripping staring contests are required.

Renting a game is also expensive, 6 pounds each with a non-refundable deposit is ridiculous.

My purchase with Thirsty Meeples went really well. Initially I had a query about something so I contacted them and they replied promptly and satisfactorily.

My game arrived packaged really well with a good strong outer cardboard box and inner paper padding. There were no bashed corners or dents to the game box when it arrived which is important to me.

The price was also about the best I could find anywhere so cannot ask for anymore. Would be happy to buy from them again and would recommend them to others.

OK shopping experience. However they have repeatedly failed to reply to my emails regarding a problem I've had with their reward scheme. Communication is paramount in on-line commerce, so a failure to communicate is unacceptable dereliction.

I found Thirsty Meeples online purely by chance, and they had a really hard to find board game at an incredibly competitive price. Christmas sorted!! Was pleasantly surprised to see them offer next day delivery at a reasonable price via a highly-respected courier too. Really, really pleased with the service - would love to visit their café if I ever end up in the area!
