Cancellation due to pricing error, lied by saying out of stock.
I ordered a pair of trainers on Secret Sales. Two days after ordering (and having received an order confirmation and my status showing as shipped) I received a refund without any other notification.
I contacted Secret Sales who told me they were out of stock. When I checked, they were not in fact out of stock, and had increased in price significantly.
After a bit of digging, I eventually found out that Sale Lab were the seller and were responsible for pricing and content on Secret Sales' website.
Despite me pointing out that a contract had been agreed, it was eventually admitted that my order was cancelled due to a pricing error.
Consumer law states that this can only happen if the purchaser could reasonably have believed it to be a mistake. I did not.
Sale Lab have refused to honour the contract, so I am considering my options.
If they were that confident in their entitlement to cancel, they surely would have just admitted it.

Firstly, your order was placed via Secret Sales, who initially informed you that the item was out of stock. However, as you've since been informed, Sale Lab — the seller — confirmed that the order was cancelled due to a genuine pricing error.
We understand this was frustrating, but it's important to clarify a few key points:
No binding contract was formed. The confirmation email you received is an acknowledgment of your order, but as clearly outlined in Secret Sales’ Terms and Conditions (which you agreed to at checkout), it does not constitute a binding contract in cases where a pricing error has occurred.
UK consumer law allows a seller to cancel an order in the case of a genuine and obvious pricing mistake — even if an order confirmation was issued. In this instance, the item was listed at approximately one-quarter the price of other Balenciaga trainers on the platform (typically listed at £500+), and significantly below the brand’s usual market value (often around £800). This made the pricing error evident and material.
We are not in a position to offer the item at the incorrect price, and the order has already been fully refunded. No funds are owed, and we will not be able to reimburse any future purchases made elsewhere.
We understand this may not be the outcome you had hoped for, but we believe it’s important to remain transparent. We hope this helps clarify the matter.

Ordered first time from company ,they gave misleading information about a product, give one description, then offer to sell from a different brand which in plain English is misleading. The company Saleslab have applied for payment from my bank,however not even dispatched item.Now I will have to wait probably a week to get refunded especially a vulnerable person with Anxiety diagnosed. Then they suggest they r getting good reviews certainly not in my experience, will deffo not use again, waste of time

To clarify, the issue arose due to a temporary glitch on our website, which incorrectly listed the brand as Hackett instead of Duchamp. When our warehouse team went to pick the item, they discovered the discrepancy. We contacted you immediately to explain the situation and offered three clear options: proceed with the correct item at a revised price, choose an alternative, or cancel the order for a full refund. You chose to cancel, and we processed the refund right away.
While we always action refunds promptly, the time it takes to appear in your bank account depends on your bank’s processing time — something we, unfortunately, cannot control. Like many businesses, we take payment at the time of order to confirm availability and ensure the customer has sufficient funds. This is a standard practice and is not intended to disadvantage anyone.
Throughout, we responded quickly to your queries and did everything we could to provide transparency and resolution. We are genuinely sorry for any distress this caused, especially given your personal circumstances, and we regret that we weren’t able to turn the situation around for you.

Was slightly apprehensive about buying due to price etc.. but everything I bought came back as authentic. So unless these boys have a really intricate deal to obtain real labels for authenticity then everything is legit. Will defo be using it again! Just shows how much flannels rip you off!
