Learning Portuguese through The Polyglot Path has been one of the most rewarding parts of my language journey. Julia brings a rare combination of warmth, clarity, and structure that makes every session feel both productive and genuinely enjoyable. She has a real talent for meeting you exactly where you are—never overwhelming, never talking down—and guiding you forward with patience and steady encouragement.

One of the things I value most is how she balances solid instruction with a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere. We can be breaking down a tricky grammar point in a way that finally makes sense, and then move into a conversation exercise that helps everything click in a natural way. Her explanations are clear, her feedback is thoughtful, and she has a way of making complex patterns feel simple and intuitive.

The lessons themselves are well‑designed: structured enough to give you confidence, flexible enough to adapt to your pace, and always focused on real communication. I’ve noticed a huge difference in my ability to speak naturally, think in Portuguese, and stay motivated—even on the days when life is busy.

Julia is a pleasure to work with. Definitely don’t hesitate to give her classes a try. I am currently learning Brazilian Portuguese with her help. I also speak Spanish. When I first came to Julia I felt that I was mixing up the languages a bit too much. Though I was already able to speak. I felt lost when it came to using certain tenses and words. I wasn’t very confident while speaking because I didn’t have many opportunities to practice speaking Portuguese. Now a few months later. I am happy to say I feel much more confident speaking Portuguese. We have really honed in on improving my grammar and speaking. Each lesson is tailored to you. You can even suggest a topic for the lesson if you so desire. Julia has wonderful PowerPoints I have enjoyed exploring in class. I have been learning not only the language. But also the history and culture behind the country of Brazil. There are also vocab lists and instructional videos for almost any question you may have. You also are able to message her during the week with any questions. There is homework assigned each week. This has helped me improve drastically. If there is a mistake she will clearly explain why. Not only is Julia an amazing teacher. But she is also a joy to work with. She is so passionate about teaching. I was nervous to try her classes at first. But I am so glad I did. If you do the same you definitely won’t regret it. The classes can also be recorded and transcribed so you can come back to them anytime. Very helpful if you can’t remember what you did in class. For me because Julia speaks multiple languages. Its been easier. I can speak to her in English Spanish or Portuguese. This is especially helpful if I accidentally say a word in Spanish while speaking Portuguese. With Julia’s help it happens much less now. I feel she has helped me hone in to improve my skills. Before my method of learning was more haphazard. She makes the language more applicable to my life. If you are struggling in a language. Professor Julia can definitely help!

I signed up with Julia at The Polyglot Path to give my Spanish a little extra boost, particularly with speaking confidence and some of those tricky grammar concepts I still struggle to get my head around!

I’ve been learning Spanish with a native teacher for a couple of years, which has been great, but sometimes having certain concepts explained in English makes all the difference, especially when you’re struggling to understand the grammar itself.

What I really appreciate about Julia’s teaching style is how clear, structured and logical everything is. I’m naturally quite an organised person and a visual learner, so her approach really suits me. She breaks things down in a way that’s easy to follow, using colour-coded notes and explanations that help everything make a little more sense.

The whole course is incredibly well organised through Notion, with lesson plans, homework, videos, grammar explanations, vocabulary and a wealth of other resources, all with lifetime access. I also really appreciate that Julia reviews and marks homework ahead of each lesson, so we can spend our time together discussing it and working through anything I haven’t quite understood.

Even after just a month, I feel I’ve gained some clarity on things that previously confused me, along with a much-needed confidence boost. I know I still need to get out there, speak more, make mistakes and embrace being corrected, but Julia has definitely helped give me that extra push.

I worked with Julia for several months to get ready for a trip to Brazil with my husband and our three young kids to visit his family and attend two family weddings. I'd tried learning Portuguese on my own for years without much progress and knew I needed something different, which led me to Julia.
When we got to Brazil, the family was blown away by how much I'd improved since they'd seen me a year earlier, and they were so excited to finally chat with me. I ordered food for my kids at restaurants, went shopping on my own, and handled my needs and my children's needs without leaning on my husband, which was exactly my goal.
Julia tailored every lesson to what I actually needed, like small talk at weddings, conversations with family, and getting around with kids. She's easy to work with, never makes you feel slow, and knows when to step back if you're getting overwhelmed. She's also your biggest cheerleader! She's kept in touch since my trip to answer questions and check in on me.
I felt so comfortable with her, and it showed in my progress. Her lessons helped me feel closer to my family. I can't recommend her enough!

I started lessons with Julia to improve my French so I could speak it with my girlfriend. Having not studied French since school, I was surprised by how quickly I progressed.

Her approach is super bespoke, and Julia made a real effort to tailor the lessons to my requirements. Notes from our lessons and homeworks were maintained by Julia online, which makes it really easy to pick up where we left off and revisit topics.

After committing myself to become fluent in Brazilian Portuguese this year 🇧🇷 I ended up taking a month following Julia’s polyglot path. This was the cherry on the cake for me. Julia sees exactly what your areas of improvement are and tailors a plan for your needs. She also adapts to your learning style and gives you homework. If you are really serious about learning a language to fluent/ native level I highly recommend Julia as your teacher. I would suggest you already know the basics of your language to get the most value out for your experience!

As Julia´s first online classes student i have nothing but good things to say. The notion dashboard and her guidance gave me the structure i never had learning.

Before Julia i had group classes in a language school in Valencia. They switched teacher three times in one week. I didn´t feel comfortable making mistakes.

With Julia´s help it made living in Valencia and travelling Colombia so much easier. I´m now a B1.
