I contacted John Lewis Reading for…
I contacted John Lewis Reading for quality and ended up with The Floor Room! It took several attempts to get in contact, the surveyor (from the floor room) made was not competent so when the fitters came they couldn't fit the carpet. Another 3 week wait plus I was asked to pay more for the mistake (twice the original amount quoted). Bad communication, bad service. The fitters were good but they previously worked for JL!

Great service
Staff (Anna and Anita) in the JL Store in Glasgow were extremely helpful and organised a survey for the next day. The surveyor (Scott) was extremely helpful and sent quotes for different carpets. Everyone took time to explain different options. I am extremely happy with the service I have received.

Helpful and easy service
Went into the Cheltenham store a few days ago to have a look at some samples and book a measure. Was greeted by a young woman called Miya who was very helpful in answering the questions I had. Was able to book a measure easily and should be expecting them in the next few days. So far so good!!!!

Feeling much less nervous now and more in control...a first visit so I have not…
This was a first visit so I have not yet bought anything. Staff from manager to trainee were quite incredibly helpful. I am very nervous about the process of spending so much money - I must get this floor right! - and after my visit I felt so encouraged and positive about the whole process that I am looking forward to continuing with the surveyor's visit for a quotation and advice.

Chloe was extremely helpful in working with us to choose a carpet for our stairs and landings. Her expert knowledge ensured that we picked the right type of carpet for the job and dissuaded us from some that would not do the job. When required, she followed up with a phone call and throughout our engagement with her, she was thoroughly professional.

We requested a home visit for measuring…
We requested a home visit for measuring and help in choosing a new carpet for our Hallway Stairs and Landing. Alastair arrived promptly was cheerful efficient and very helpful. Didn't have all the samples we wanted but has arranged for more to be sent to us. Have already received a price based on the carpet we think we are leaning towards. If the fitting goes as well we will be using The Floor Room for flooring the rest of the house.

Minimal contact no explanation no phone…
Minimal contact no explanation no phone calls back. Eventually had to drag my elderly mum upto London to get it sorted. Only way to fix is to Purchase the underlay again but have to pay the fitter directly and then wait 7 days for a refund of the original underlay cost from John Lewis. Shocking customer service!!!

We were served by a lovely lady called Jess, she was very helpful and very clear on everything we needed to know, overall a very enjoyable experience. The only downside we had was trying to pay the bill with our credit card and there was trouble with the card machine which did take a while to sort out.

This was a very positive experience
This was a very positive experience. Chloe was extremely helpful and responded very promptly. Our fitter was lovely and cheerfully moved all our furniture out and back and not only hoovered the new carpet but the stairs, landing and hallway as well! The only thing that stops me giving five stars is that I found the automatic emails at the start of the procedure a bit confusing!

Extremely helpful staff, who told me in advance when they would be at the store. Thank you Aaron. Advised on type of carpet for dogs. Thorough measuring up service.
Disappointed I didn’t get my JL points but they are not part of JL.
Quite expensive, but will follow up on review when the carpets have been fitted.
