Disabled wet room
We recently moved into our new home, and we needed the bathroom made into a wet room as quickly as possible for our disabled son. We read the reviews for this company in which they state they know how to cater for disabled wet rooms and they sounded professional. We met with the boss, who advised us on different options. The quickest being wall panels the shape of tiles (not full length) which could go over the existing tiles. Work started at the end of July and within 10 days their worker didn’t turn up. We were told he had walked away from the company. The owner was in a state of panic and decided he would do some of the work himself. He did a very poor job , and what he did had to be removed. We then had several different “workmen” turn up who all decided it was a good idea to rush the job. On inspection of the floor tiles four were either chipped or cracked, and we had to insist they be replaced. The mirror had been placed too high despite my advising the worker where is should be (it was higher than the 1000m radiator (my son is in a wheelchair) he advised the boss that’s where I told him to hang it, no I didn’t. We had another couple of workmen come in and unfortunately they couldn’t hang anything straight. They also did some work in our en suite which we have had to fully replace. They replaced the flooring but didn’t level it before putting the new one down. It was click together tiles and when we walked on it, it cluncked and moved. Behind the toilet was mess as they hadn’t cut the tiles properly. They also raised the heated mirror, but rewired it badly and it was sizzling. The sink and vanity unit were not attached to the wall and held in place with mastic. We have had to replace all the works in the en suite.
It took approximately 10 weeks to “finish” the job. We explained the problems to the company with the en suite, we didn’t want them to come back.
However, having lived with the main bathroom since August 2025 we have had problems. The toilet seat was over tightened and is broken. The shower control is broken. The floor was so badly laid that the water didn’t drain away. We believed that water was sitting under the floor tiles, as the grout was always wet in the shower area. There are gaps between the click together tiles and they were badly positioned. The shower head didn’t come out far enough. At no time were we asked to choose items and we ended up with a curved radiator,which is next to the toilet and made access to the toilet for my son impossible. We were so fed up with this company that we just wanted them gone.
We are now in the process of removing all the works and have a professional team of bathroom fitters replacing everything. It has been discovered that the floor wasn’t laid properly (the tiles were extremely slippery when wet)and indeed water has been pooling under the tiles, as the concrete wasn’t laid flat, but in blobs. Also water was pooling under the toilet where they had boxed the pipe, obviously not sealed properly.
We did approach the company with a list of problems and the boss wanted to come back and inspect the works. He had 10 weeks of coming to our home and inspecting at the time. We advised him unless he was prepared to remove all their works, there was no point in him wasting his and our time. We have heard nothing since. This has been a very expensive experience for us and to be told by medical professionals that the room wasn’t fit for purpose says it all. We are embarrassed by the works and are pleased to be rid of it.
