Their initial pitch is amateurish, unprofessional and tediously repetitive. Their chosen advocate, Lara, spends the entire time narrating every line on the visuals, precisely as they appear. Ludicrous and irritating to anyone with an IQ greater than their waist measurement.
The absence of professional sales skills is clear and the approach, regardless of its legitimacy, comes across as a scam.

The Empath Closing School was exactly what I needed and came at the perfect time.
Lara is an exceptional trainer and is very trustworthy and is always on hand whenever needed. The whole experience was fantastic and thoroughly enjoyable.
The community and support as a whole is amazing, very positive as well as motivating.
After certifying, I was employed very quickly as a transformational advisor which I have been doing for nearly a year already. The income is great, and the freedom of time is a great bonus to manage all the things I was missing out on.

I too feel this is a scam they promise you a job and all they do is try to sell you a course.

They told me it was a free 8-12 week course, with a guaranteed remote position, and how they make their money, is they will take a small percentage of my commission with whichever company they put me with.

Seemed reasonable enough, but then I found out via email that I would have to pay for the course too. When I asked how much, they refused to answer. Saying I must take a call instead.

I confirmed that I want it in writing, so they can not change the goal posts later on. They then said that they are "Admin" and do not know the price of their own course - phone call only.

I refused and came here to leave a bad review. They are targeting expats in South East Asia to leave your low-paid school teaching jobs and follow their pipe dream instead. (Later finding out via other bad reviews that they are charging a whopping €4,000 to your bankcard).

You are smart enough to know that these so called "positive reviews" do not look right... Simply Google search "Is the Empath Closing School a Scam?" or look on "Scam-Detector.com" and search up their website name: ClosingEmpathSchool.com

In October 2024, I commenced my training with The Empath Closing School in the The Empathic Conversational Closing Method. The life changing experience I have had has been instrumental in allowing me to see that I have more potential and can continue to enhance my personal development and move forward. This will allow me to find a more rewarding occupation as a Closer where I will have the opportunity to help others whilst investing in a better future for myself and my family. The trainers / mentors and community are great and there is support 24 / 7. The community itself is full of positivity and encouragement, setting an environment where once you put the work in, you will succeed!. Training material is presented in many formats (videos with detailed notes, live presentations weekly, daily discussions in the community forum etc.) in bite-size pieces allowing you to review, study and absorb at your own pace. I personally felt that once I started the program, i could not stop moving forward with the training, digging deeper and wanting to do my best to enhance my skills and knowledge but also to support my fellow colleagues. There is something special about The Empath Closing School which makes you feel part of a family, full of like-minded people who want to have a life changing experience and create new opportunities. By putting in the recommended time and follow up on actions, I was able to get certified in 3 months and I very much looking forward to continuing my journey ahead and remaining part of this community. I highly recommend this training!

When I enrolled in The Empath Closing School, I had spent over 3 years trying to make a sustainable life for myself as an entrepreneur living abroad. This doesn’t account for the time I took writing a book and working with an editor to get it published. The idea was to combine my love of writing with my love of mentoring people, write a book and launch my coaching career. All the while teaching English online which was a career I had known would never be one that could sustain me. I had been a guest speaker on about 15 substantial podcasts, worked with a business coach and then worked with a mindset coach. Don’t get me wrong, I have no regrets having worked with those other individuals and organizations. I have grown each step of the way. And perhaps without those experiences would not have signed up for this program. But from the moment I saw Lara Mcilwraith’s video on social media I was drawn into what she had to say. I encountered her video shortly after spending over 2 months of caring for my elderly mother who had fallen quite ill. I was reevaluating my life and wanting to make a change in the way I had been addressing the following of people I had managed to grow online. Because of this program, I came to realize that I wasn’t asking the right questions or simply taking the right approach with people and I realized I would need one more thing to push me over the edge.

From the very first Live call I had with Lara, it was evident I had set my entire business up incorrectly. Within the first week of working with Lara I pivoted my business to a specific niche and immediately I had people reaching out to me. Some think I should have just took off and chase my own business again, this time with a better set of tools under my belt. But a funny thing happened. The more I worked with the Empath Closing School, the more I wanted to learn. I loved the community and I found myself inspired to work on my communication skills. I decided to dedicate my time to certifying and put my business on the back burner. I was beginning to see this opportunity as a win/win situation and that’s what it has been.

I recently certified and was going to wait until I started earning because of these skills to submit a testimonial. But honestly, I have no doubt that I will start earning soon and I’ve already got people signing up for an online event I will be hosting a month from now. My experience with the Empath Closing School and specifically with the leadership of Lara has been a win/win and so much more. I was at a career crossroads having been a Dispensing Optician for 30 years. I looked into teaching but I felt that I needed to change direction again. Working with Lara and doing the modules of the course has helped me gain an insight into what is available to earn money by being an Empathic Transformational Advisor. The best thing was meeting so many people on Zoom during my training from all over the world and making friends. The Empath closing school changed my life. I was able to learn a high value skill, get certified and get a job utilising that skill all within three months of joining the program. There are several elements to the training including self paced online training which includes videos with actionable items, I was able to utilise each new lesson as I went. The mindset training helped me to evolve and grow, I had never done any kind of personal development previously and it was a huge and welcome change. There are two weekly sessions of trainer led training which were so valuable to me, getting constructive feedback consistently that I was then able to utilise allowed me to certify quickly. The peer to peer sessions help you to get real world practice and refine your closing skills and through the community itself I have made many connections and friendships. After my certification I got a job working with the amazing Mind Movies team, where I have been closing consistently at a 25% close rate with ongoing support and mentoring from the empath closing school team. I would recommend to anyone who is looking to grow, learn a high value skill and earn a US income from anywhere in the world.

This school supposedly sells to ex-pats working overseas with the promise of making extra cash, like 10-50K USD each month. Unfortunately, I bought into their program and discovered it was a total scam. Their head trainer, Lara Mcilwarithe, trains you on her taped videos, and most of the time, you are told to spend time with a partner online and train each other on how to close a deal. You are advised to read several books that she recommends and, at the end of 200-something, taped lessons with her talking motivational speeches about how one should focus and concentrate on lessons and work with within your group of like-minded partners who had also bought into this ridiculous program, you will get a certificate from them.No organizations recognize this certificate, plus it is not accredited. They are a branch of similar scam schools under someone named Marisa Peer/s, based in the UK. So you can't report them to the FTC or BBB. Their business address is a house in England which had recently been sold, very shady. Please do not buy their program from FB or any other Social Media Platform. They are not real and have zero knowledge of sales and closing. The only thing that you might get out of this program, which costs 4000K U.K. Pounds, is their certificate, which is not even worth the ink on that piece of paper. Do your research first. All of their good reviews are not real, in my opinion, written by themselves. Ultimately, they might recruit you to sell this course to others who know no better. I believe they are targeting expats working overseas, mostly expat foreign teachers—big-time scammers under the multiple courses offered by Marisa Peer or Peers, working out of the U.K. Fake business addresses and courses like astrology, fortune telling, and hypnotization. The term buyers beware is a real warning here.
