Lovely Spanish tapas, if a little time consuming to prepare
I have had the Spanish tapas a couple of times - really good recipes and the romano peppers are different from the usual.
The only issue I have is the recipes are quite fiddly and time consuming -eg all the ingredients for the stuffing have to be chopped into small pieces, then fried at different times. Not good if you need something to cook quickly.

Delicious Goan Prawn Curry
We ordered Goan King Prawn Curry. It was delicious. Quite a lot of ingredients but we followed the instructions and really enjoyed the curry and the rice.
The prawns were huge and very tasty and the rice very coconutty.
One small point. You really do need two frying pans to make sure all is ready at the same time.

Steak night for Christmas dinner
As there was just myself and my husband for Christmas dinner this year we decided not to opt for the traditional turkey. We treated ourselves to the ultimate steak night instead, we did not regret it. It was easy to follow and turned out perfectly. Generous portions for two and the taste and quality was second to none. My husband said it was the best Christmas he’d ever had!

I’ve had such a great experience with…
I’ve had such a great experience with Cookaway. I tried both the Greek lamb and the Mexican tacos, and everything was absolutely delicious. The Greek lamb was incredibly flavourful and cooked to perfection, and the Mexican tacos were flawless — fresh, well-seasoned, and so easy to put together.
It’s such a fun concept and works perfectly for a group of friends or a big family meal. Everyone gets involved, the quality of the ingredients really stands out, and it turns dinner into an experience rather than just a meal.
Would 100% recommend and will definitely order again!

Very disappointed.
The meat was excellent, the rest not so. We are foodies and this was not value for money. I doubt we will use this company again.

The delivery arrived late
The delivery arrived late, there is no mention of a refund. Because I love in Scotland they said they requested a priority delivery, do they not know where Scotland is. This stuff comes from london, take that into account if you order anything.

As discussed on email, your order was delivered on your chosen delivery date.
As we had noticed you had a Scottish postcode, we as a business did a complementary upgrade to your delivery service to ‘by 12pm’. We did this to ensure your delivery was noticed as a higher priority.
Unfortunately, as we state clearly on our website, DPD is currently experiencing delays with Scottish deliveries, therefore your delivery did not make it by 12pm – but it did make it on the same day. When our boxes leave us, we have little control over their delivery – as they are in the hands of DPD.
I do apologise that your box arrived later than you expected, however you had originally chosen standard delivery, and you received your box under the premises that you had originally chosen. Furthermore, we always ensure enough gel packs in our boxes to maintain our fresh ingredients for their journey in transit (especially for Scottish deliveries).
I have attempted to resolve this with you over email, however I have not received a response from you. I would be happy to discuss this further.

I saw cookaway advertised and thought I’d bite the bullet and order !
I went for the Malaysian crispy chilli beef ! And I was not disappointed ! The ingredients were super fresh, the instructions were fool proof and even my partner helped Cook it ! Which is a first for him
Will defiantly order again in the near future !

Good customer service
I ordered a gift box with vouchers as a Christmas gift. The box arrived swiftly (as expected, as they use DPD, which is one of the very few reliable couriers in my long experience). I had a few questions about the voucher and was responded to very quickly and my queries were well answered .
I also noticed they'd sent the plain gift box and not included the festive Xmas box cover. This was not very important, but I mentioned it at the end of my query email, and they immediately sent out a special delivery of the missing xmas cover and sincerely apologised for the omittion, ( I told them not to bother, but they did and I appreciate it). So excellent customer service. I'm very sure the recipient will love her gift.

Extremely difficult
Found the recipe hard to follow and the end product wasn’t even that tasty. Thought the whole point of cook away was that cooking is easier but buying my own products and following my own recipe is far easier.

All our menus come with cooking guides in order to make the process easier, and help you time everything right! Wondering if you followed this?
We do appreciate it takes time to cook our menus, but our recipes are designed to be an exciting cooking experience. The Crispy Chilli Beef menu that you choose is one of our best selling menus and has been developed by MasterChef Champion, Ping Coombes. It does however, require some specific prep to ensure the texture and flavours are exactly how you would experience in Malaysia.

Mexican cuisine joins the Cookaway menus
I have been a fan of the Cookaway menu boxes for some years and was overjoyed when they added a new cuisine to their range.
I attended a Mexican masterclass with chef Karla Zazuta and so was with delight that I could try out some new Mexican recipies.
I cooked the steak, chicken and chorizo tacos with sides of pickled onions, guacamole, refried beans and salsa taquera. The ensemble was delicious and easy to create -definitely recommend and I will be trying out the other Mexican menus soon!
