This company have absolutely ruined my life and home for the past six months.

I applied for the scheme in mid December and had to chase customer services many times as they kept asking for the same details I’d already sent, not acknowledging my emails or giving any update for weeks. The first works didn’t happen until the end of March.

On 2 occasions the team installing the solar panels didn’t turn up on the dates given when I had waited in, with no explanation.

On 2 occasions the scaffolders didn’t turn up on the dates given, with no explanation. They then turned up with no warning another day. It was up for a month but only used for two days.

The electrician to connect my inverter didn’t turn up on the date given after I had waited in all day.

My customer liaison officer Julia has continually given me wrong information, such as that I would be getting an air source heat pump when I wasn’t, and that the scaffolding was being taken down before any work had been done. She has been generally unresponsive and never knows what’s going on so I’ve had to chase everything up myself. The site manager Adam Sweet then told me not to speak to her anymore “because she’s an idiot”.

Three weeks after the solar panels were installed, Adam told me the installation has been completely messed up. I needed two more solar panels, a battery and an external inverter rather than the one that was installed inside my house. Because of this, the whole process had to be redone and the scaffolding putting up again.

A couple of weeks after the process finished my drain flooded sewage into my garden. When I got someone to look at it, it was completely blocked by building materials, bits of plastic, pieces of roof tile and packaging that either the scaffolders or solar panel installers had left in my gutters.

Finally I opened my loft hatch to find a large hole showing the sky outside. SBS conducted two loft surveys before starting works and did not mention this, so they must have caused the damage while working on the roof.

Throughout the whole experience, no one has proactively contacted me to give any updates and I have had to constantly ask what is going on, often not getting any reply for over a week if at all. I made a formal complaint about all of these issues but they just said they will do more internal training. Every time i leave a google review they remove it and some of the positive reviews on google are left by their own staff. I am at a loss what to do, they have wasted my time, blocked my drains and left a hole in the roof.

Last year I applied for the warmer home scheme through this company and Berneslai homes, huge mistake! Work started on my property in February, some inside work has been completed however, a retractor fan was supposed to be installed in the bathroom, they couldn't fit a fan to the wall so they were going to put one in the window instead. The arranged to come and measure the window on 2 separate occasions and both times they never turned up.

A few weeks ago I was informed my attic bedrooms needed to be insulated, I didn't agree to this at first as it's my daughter's bedroom up there, she would have nowhere to sleep, I had too much furniture up there with nowhere to put it and I'd redecorated the whole attic the year before so I refused the work. Berneslai homes persuaded me to have it done as they had put a plan into place that would cause very little disturbance, I was assured the builders would move the furniture and put it back, clean up after themselves and that it would only take 4 days to complete the work. Last Monday the builders arrived, they worked on the spare bedroom and the landing, all of the furniture from that room was in my daughter's bedroom, the only work they did last week was a full day on Monday, the plasterer arrived Wednesday and claimed he couldn't plaster as the builders had made a mess, they had also insulated 2 inside walls that weren't on the plans, they came round that afternoon and was told they had made a mistake and it needs rectifying. They were supposed to come and fix the mistake last Thursday, the date and time was arranged with me, they never turned up, I complained to Berneslai homes and I was told they were on their way, and hour later still a no show! I had to clean all of their mess up and put the furniture back myself just so my daughter could sleep in her own bed, otherwise she would've been sleeping in with me for 6 nights. I was told the builders were supposed to be coming today (Wednesday 8th April) once again they haven't turned up! I am absolutely disgusted and upset about this as we are being forced to live in this mess, the sockets and lights are hanging out of the walls and ceiling, this is a violation of health and safety, I want the cowboys to come and fix their mistakes and then leave, I will not allow them to touch my daughter's bedroom after this fiasco!
