Outrageous experience to date

Outrageous experience to date, by Dr. Meng's office. False communication, or none at all. My follow-up is now about 6 months delayed or more. They received my test results weeks ago but nothing from them. Involved patient relations and they are basically useless. After being given the facts, the secretary - who seems to be the one handling the complaints - asks what you want them to do. They outright lie to cover themselves, even when you have their lies in writing. I was supposed to have been referred to another department, and haven't heard from them at all, despite it being from last year. When I asked about that, they said they couldn't tell me anything, even though they are the ones who made the referral. Zero follow-up or accountability. Someone should tell their radio marketer to quit with the ads about how patient-centered Sunnybrook is. The reviews speak for themselves. Obviously they wish me to escalate to the Ombudsman and the College, which at this point, I'm happy to do.

Horrible experience

Horrible experience. Nurses have attitudes and get offended if you ask them a question. They would rather surf the next then attend to patient care. Doctors were dismissive of family concerns. Tip of advice get off your high horse and attend to your patients, all lives matter.

Absolutely the best nurses and doctors

Absolutely the best nurses and doctors. I have been so blessed to receive care here. Thank goodness I am able to get my vaccine shot today because it has been so long since I’ve gotten my second booster.

The doctor said that they will call me back tomorrow morning.

Super grateful for their service and support.

Seniors need to be handled with care and patience

Our 95 year old mom was admitted for a UTI and a mild flu in April. She had deliruim and was not able to communicate efficiently. Several nurses went to her room to change her diaper and mom got aggressive.
The nurses went in with their protective gear and scared mom. She was screaming and hyperventilating for several hours after that. She also would not eat, drink or take her meds for three days. Conclusion: Nurses need to be trained on how to deal with seniors. Only one nurse should go in the room at a time and show the diaper to the patient. If the patient refuses, then leave the room and try again a little later. If the patient continues to refuse, then contact the family. My siblings, moms personal care givers, and I were by her side at all times. We spoke with clinicians and they suggested mom go under pallietive care at home. We must have fallen through the cracks as that was not followed through. We then took mom to NYG which helped us with all aspects of moms care. Sadly, mom passed away the end of June.

This is a sincere thank you to Ms. Julie Rice, patient care manager, for her above and beyond and selfless act of assisting a senior, by using her lunch break stayed with this patient, to ensure her safety and kept the patient connected on her private cell phone with a familiar person know to patient and spent additional time and effort to ensure patient had the correct ride back to her home. You are an ANGEL on earth Julie. God bless you.

Unacceptable, harmful behaviour

Members of staff at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre have been knowingly and continually harming me by illegitimately blocking access to my own updated health records because of the complaints and concerns I brought forward about some of my experience there and in particular about one of the doctors and then also because of my complaints and concerns about inaccuracies and some deliberate distortions to the facts in my health information records. They have been and are well aware of the harm and detrimental effects on me (and others) because of their behaviour and their concern for only themselves. They have “used” excuses in a highly unethical, dishonest, ugly, shameful way; there is even some unlawfulness; and they are well aware of all their hypocritical antics involved. The main unethical people involved are a Dr. Ashwati Raghunath, a student Dr. Chan, and chief privacy officer Jeff Curtis. Sunnybrook has put me through a long stressful time and continues to. They calculatingly twisted truths and misled in order to cover up some wrongdoings by some staff at SB. I have learned that this is apparently common practice when alerts go up that drs/staff/hospitals require damage control, and they will stop at nothing in order to avoid any legitimate concerns being brought to light. Such behaviour is shocking. They will do literally anything, even submit further inaccuracies and falsehoods, to cover up. They will even risk lives. They have forcibly pushed it to go on and on despite no legitimate basis to do so. The only basis is for their own protection. They seem so arrogantly sure that they have the power to get away with anything, perhaps because our system actually has and does allow that. This is not “healthcare”. It is a display of a serious deep rooted well orchestrated corrupt arsenal and “protectionism” that goes on in our “health systems” and in our own personal health records, and an attitude of to hell with the health and well-being of those who mistakenly entrusted their health to certain “healthcare providers”. It is truly deplorable. Worthy of criminality. My fight has gone on now for almost two years, all the while them knowing of the pain and suffering and harm from having inaccurate and even deliberately falsified information in health records and being blocked from it being corrected caused and causes, and how that blocking continues harm to be inflicted on me (and family/loved ones). They are very aware of how it will go on if my right to my own personal health records, my right to ensure the integrity of my own health records, and my right to fight for my health and well-being, my right to fight for my life, is continually blocked and disrespected. They are relentless. They have no moral right to deny me those rights. This is a form of intentional harm. If I do not make it, or this corruption affects the health of my loved ones, all those involved in this corruption ought to be held accountable. Of course, they will just mislead yet again, but transparency of all the corruption (not just in regard to myself) out there is getting clearer and clearer. They are hurting themselves as well. Their reputations. How do they live with their conscience? I guess if they had a conscience they wouldn’t do this sort of thing in the first place, so I guess it does not affect how they look at themselves in the mirror at all. They should take into account that I have the truth on my side. The truth always, always, eventually surfaces from under cover ups.

(I do want to note that some of the doctors and staff during my experience there were very good, some even excellent, and that I am appreciative of that. I guess it all depends on the characters of all the individuals.)
