After feeling some uneasiness about having given personal health information to Stuffthatworks, I decided to close my account. I signed in to the website and attempted to follow the instructions detailed in the FAQs. But after entering my phone number and the text code that was sent to me, I found that the "Continue" button was non-functioning. I emailed customer support but got an auto-response telling me about their "high volume of emails", and directing me to their FAQ section. In other words, I got the run-around. Since then I have tried 4-5 times to log in but can't get further than the non-functioning Continue button. So I can't log in to edit or delete my personal information, and I can't cancel my account. Meanwhile, I get a couple emails from them every week. My advice: Avoid getting involved with them.

At first, I thought this was legit, and a great idea. After being on it for a few years, I realise it's just an Israeli data harvesting site preying on vulnerable people. No response to queries, no real help, just anecdotes, impossible to leave. Avoid.

Couldn't delete account and had never been clear what I'd signed up to. Stay well clear.

Starting to think this may be more for data harvesting than anything else. It’s clearly without any kind of moderation, and not at all straightforward when you want to delete your account.

Sucks..big time censorship going on!

Supposed to be identifying the answers to health conditions. Sounds like a good idea, but too many stupid questions fog the whole idea.

Ie. Has anyone eaten a pork chop which caused a rash?

They are collecting data from users and selling. No different than other websites but they try to make it sound like it’s a humanitarian effort.

Dangerous site, they allow people with mental illness to pose questions that others (with the same mental illness) provide pre chosen answers... when I saw someone ask if suicide is a good idea or bad idea and saw the majority of answers say good idea I turned off all notifications and left. I really feel this site should be removed from the Internet, it's disgusting.

Have to complete 35 question survey just to access the site. That's the stuff that doesn't work for me.

Lots of conspiracy theories people spreading misinformation and the site doesn’t remove it or admonish them.

Lots of crazy things being said on the site with no scientific evidence to support it and this makes it worthless and misleading.

I shared my personal experience of what helped me get better and the mean girls attacked me and reported me. Lots of cranky people on the site looking for an argument. They just want to argue!

The site sent me a message and admonished me for sharing my story. The people who reported me claimed I’m marketing. I am on disability and unable to work. Lots of suspicious, cranky, aggressive and rude people on the site.

I found the site to be of zero use and all that’s happening is the site owners are tracking what people say works, so they can develop products to sell to sick people. This is their marketing research center and we hand over our details as we discuss what works and does not work.

This site only helps the Israeli owners and that’s it. I gained zero benefits from the site, but I got a lot of headaches from people attacking me.

It’s a lot of conspiracy theories and that isn’t helpful or useful.

It seems to be a really cool and helpful Idea. I don't know if there is a potential for misuse of the data or not but it seems genuine and there is a growing community of people with ADHD. Statistics about the treatment looks genuine and as I would expect, potentially extremely helpful.

Don’t know anything about this company if it’s legit or not.
It’s asking for survey participation....
