I recently visited the Starel Stones showroom in Southampton, and I couldn’t have been more impressed. Their selection of marble is truly exceptional — the variety of colours, patterns, and finishes made choosing the perfect stone for my kitchen and bathrooms an absolute pleasure.
What really sets Starel Stones apart is their outstanding service. The employees are incredibly friendly, helpful, and insightful, taking the time to guide me towards the right products for my home. Marion was very helpful and friendly when showing us around the slab gallery. The selection of marble and onyx was beautiful, and the quality really stood out. Having used them before for bathroom tiles, I knew I could trust them again for my kitchen worktop. Very happy with the service and would recommend.

As the Interior designer acting on behalf of my client, I have never experienced such terrible service. I work with a wide variety of tile suppliers and whilst I accept that issues can arise, the way issues are handled makes the world of difference. There is a phone line that tells you that no one answers the phone and you have to email. After chasing and chasing, my clients and I were fobbed off with random excuses, when pressed for details, none were forthcoming. We were way past the deadline, no interest in accepting the implications this has on a refurbishment process. When asking for refund about 3 months in, we were told this was not an option under their T&C and refund was only forthcoming once my client put up a review here. I am backing this up as the worst company I have worked with in my 10 year career as a designer and will never use them again, recommend them on future project to to anyone in my network.

Found Starel by accident after being let down by Capietra and it was a pleasant surprise to say the least. Starel offers better product quality at a fraction of the cost.
Tiles I was buying at capietra were £400+/m2 meanwhile starel version of the same tile was £189 /m2! Huge difference especially considering I needed 12m2 in total.
Delivery arrived fast with no issues.

I had an amazing experience at Starel. Not only were the staff incredibly helpful, but they made me feel very welcome. They allowed me to take my time when looking through the slabs. If anyone is looking to find some marble I would highly recommend Starel, their showroom is amazing and in immaculate condition.

Starel stones delivered on every level! from the initial contact, picking of our new gorgeous natural material tiles and the delivery exactly when they said it would be. I have recommended Starel to many friends and will 100% use them again in the near future. Thank you Starel for the enjoyable experience.

We received our tiles within the window expected and they look as good as we'd hoped. The shape of them means it's hard to judge whether the right amount was delivered or not, we'll have to wait a few weeks until they are laid. Not impressed though that since our order was placed the price on the website has been reduced substantially, meaning we've "overpaid" about £1k.

Their professionalism, attention to detail, and friendly manner made the entire experience a pleasure. The showroom itself is stunning, offering an amazing variety of marble - everything is beautifully displayed and of the highest quality.

Great products and easy to order, we've been looking for a marble skirting and evaluated at lots of options .... the White Carrara Honed Skirting was perfect and a good price.

Almost 4 months still no tiles...
No tiles. No communication. Starel Stones do not even provide a usable telephone number, which in itself speaks volumes. All contact is pushed through email, where messages are conveniently ignored. Suggesting that the reviewer below should email the "enquiries” email address is disingenuous — it’s the equivalent of writing a letter and posting it straight into the bin. Like us, they will certainly have been emailing that address for weeks, if not months as its the ONLY way to get in touch with them!

On the rare occasions we have received a response in almost 4 months, it has been little more than a clear attempt to fob us off. We are now beyond our third promised delivery date, yet still have no tiles.

Starel Stones appear to have no interest beyond taking payment upfront — notably via bank transfer, leaving customers with no recourse through a credit card provider. Proceed with extreme caution. They need to put the effort they put into social media on getting orders fulfilled.

UPDATE ON RESPONSE BY STAREL STONES:
1. The offer of a refund was made only after this review was posted. They seem to respond very fast to bad reviews but not to customer emails.
2. While a phone number may technically exist on their website, it is not answered, and messages left are not returned. Emails also go unanswered. One can reasonably deduct that responses are prioritised solely for sales enquiries.
3. Christmas and New Year have no relevance to a September order, nor do they explain why three separate promised delivery dates (with confirmation our tiles were on the containers) were missed with absolutely no follow-up whatsoever from Starel Stones. We were simply ignored.
4. The claim of “full transparency” does not align in any way whatsoever with our experience of months of silence and missed commitments. It's quite galling!
5. The only part of the response that appears genuine is that they are “sorry” to see the review — not sorry for the experience that led to it.

This update is posted to clarify the situation for future customers. I have never experienced such indifference from a supplier not has our designer.

Have been trying to get ahold of anyone to support me on my existing order and nobody is responding to our emails, nor picking up the phone. This is despite having registered that we misunderstood when tile would arrive and asked for help in getting an in stock replacement. It’s ridiculous that a business is unable to pick up a phone or respond to an email for a customer who has spent hundreds on pounds and needs support.

The team offered to send some flooring for free and also adjusted the amount to be less than what is possible on the website.

As an interior designer, I’m very selective about who I work with, and Starel Stones has become my go-to.
The quality of their stone is consistently excellent, and the team are genuinely knowledgeable and easy to work with. They understand design, timelines, and the level of detail clients expect, which makes the whole process smooth from start to finish.
Whether it’s sourcing the right material, offering practical advice, or delivering exactly what was promised, they’re reliable every time. At this point, they’re the only stone supplier I choose to use, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to both clients and other designers.

Upon recieving our samples , we proceeded to place a Substantial order 31st October 2025 (after checking in writing & verbally that all items were in stock) . Its the 7th January 2026 and we still dont even know where out order is !!!!!!

We have had terribly slow responses to emails since paying in full for our order . We were told our items were shipped and then 3 weeks later were informed that was incorrect and part of out previously checked order was NOT in stock . They seem to be very un organsied and thin on the ground for post sales support leaving us in no mans land .

Our current home renovation is on a strict timeline and procurement of bathroom tiles is crucual to prevent delays (which costs us as project over run will fall under the client delaying) . We are VERY dissaopointed with the delays , the lack of comm's and not having a designated post sales person dealing with the customer service .

Be careful if your are investing allot as we still dont know if we will be getting our order .
