We bought the all risk construction insurance for our house renovation. There is a major problem in our new kitchen after our builder completed the work. Stanhope did send an inspector to come. He has written a report about it. However, since we submitted all the information they need (3rd November), it has been almost a month! We still haven't heard anything from them....
I didn't realise what the service was misunderstanding or mis-advertising. Asked to close my account and delete details due to GDPR.

On the 26th of July Stanhope row took £30 from my account, on the 14th of August they promised that I should receive a refund in 3 working days, today is the 2nd of September & I am still yet to receive my refund. Whoever you are do not use their services as they will ignore you like nothing happened. I am highly disappointed how I’ve been treated & it’s totally unfair. I hope the company gets closed down!!!!!

Scam company still waiting for my refund they said they were going to do it last week and didn’t
They said week later they will refund it but they don’t know when because there systems were down so they have to manually do it, still waiting

When I signed up it definitely stated loans and a tax rebate. I paid the 12p and the 30 quid fee was immediately taken. There is no way my claim was processed in the 10 seconds it took to take my 12p.
I have screenshot shoots about a loan. It went through on a loan comparison site.
Fake and a scam!!

I will not be removing my review as you have tried twice to take £30 from my account last attempt was this morning. I have screenshot to prove that this was for a loan etc you just hide you real agenda somewhere where it is not accessible when going through the form. You need to contact the 3rd party that puts you forward if you are claiming that you are not a loan company!

Had a great experience with Stanhope on renovation insurance that was fiddly from the off and then had to be extended. Faultless customer care throughout from Matthew at the beginning and then Emily. Am delighted to remain a customer and can't imagine going anywhere else.

Poor communication, unhelpful staff, inflexible attitude. Very hard to renew with these people. Sudden jump in premium, bizarrely old fashioned approach to pay for policy renewal. In short, an outdated, poorly managed company.

Helpful and efficient, offering good advice and prompt service. Can't comment on claims procedure as not yet used, but as a broker I can heartily recommend. Particular thanks to Vicky Pine for her expertise and friendly efficency.

Contacted this company to discuss the possibility of home insurance because they claimed to be flexible. Foolishly I was honest with them that we had a minor leak in the porch ( 1 drop every 30 seconds in heavy rain ) they said that because this meant our property was in a “state of bad repair” they could not insure us. I even said that I was quite happy that they list this as an exclusion but that made no difference whatsoever. I do not call that flexible and my advice to anyone thinking about using them would be don’t !!!
