Went in 'on spec' to see if they could help me with some glasses I'd sat on! Expecting my frames to be 'condemned' I was amazed by the magic worked by the gentleman in their Lab. On the spot, they fixed my glasses - thank you so much. I will be using this opticians in the future when I next need eye test and new frames. A vast improvement on the customer care at my regular opticians - Specsavers.

Independent? No, owner has 24 businesses, making millions and selling glasses which are not required. Abysmal service and rude staff and management.

Great friendly, pleasant staff. Always happy to spend the time needed with you. Latest equipment to check your eyes health which was so impressive. I had the 9 layers of my eye health explained to me which I’ve never seen before. So fascinating but mainly reassuring. Lots of options available to suit my needs. My daughter even said to me after our last visit that she could see why I liked it so much & why I rate the people. My daughter has autism so for her to pick up on certain things is lovely too. Keep doing what you’re doing Specsure.

Independent? No. Mr Zag Sharif has 20 shops and made £2.1million in 2023.

Use another, but not Specsavers, who sold me expensive slimmed down lenses which were not slimmed down one iota.

The staff are friendly and helpful And were great with my aunty who suffered from a recent health issue. So much choice and quick service !

Was having problems with my eyesight ( obviously lol) went to one opticians and they gave me eyetest and said i needed new glasses and eyedrops they had great eye drops at £13.00 .. I wasnt happy as received glasses and vision from one eye was still blury, i refused the glasses and didnt purchase any eyedrops.
Sooo i went to Specsure at Consett and was tested by Steven , he examined my eyes and Urgently referred me to GP , he sent email and gave me a letter to hand in to surgery. The very same day, i handed letter in and i received a call from Sunderland eye infirmary to go in the next morning to Admissiin A .
I went and was examined and my eyes tested.They found a vein had ruptured behind my eye and on testing my blood pressure found it was 220 over 120.
If it hadnt had been for Steven i wouldnt have received treatment and who knows what the outcome would have been ( i dont think £13.00 eyedrops would have helped me).
I picked my new glasses up from Specsure and they were 100% .Thanks to all the Staff there including Jackie and Steven , I found all the staff at SPECSURE proffessional polite and curteous and a credit to the eye industry..
Make your own mind up but make sure you go to an Opticians who care about your eyes and not just selling to you. Your eyes are precious and so is your life.

I was seen by an Asisstant Dan in the Erith branch this morning,he was very rude and he did not offer a confidential service,in the presence of other customers at the entrance,he was speaking to me and shouting out at the top of his voice about offering a service due to my Health issues,I found this very degrading a breach of my confidentiality,I asked if I could speak to a supervisor and I was told that they there was no manager presence to complain too.

I felt humiliated especially as all my health information was discussed with me in public.

Spec savers need to review there staff around discussing confidential health issues and eligibility to benefits with customers,this must be very uncomfortable for people receiving benefits to have these discussions in public with other customers listening.

Also all this information is completed online by customers,staff should read customer information online before customers arrive,a more proactive approach would be appreciated.

I would not recommend this branch to any Erith customers

We came across Specsure by chance while having a walk around Consett waiting for our car to be ready. My husband has been looking for round frames for quite a while but has never found any wide enough. As soon as we walked through the door of Specsure we were asked if there was anything in particular we were looking for, found exactly what he wanted with 2 frames for the price of 1. Could not have been happier the service was second to none. We made an appointment for an eye test the following week and came away with both pairs of glasses on the same day. The staff and customer service are absolutely amazing and although it's quite a trek for us we will definitely be regular customers of Specsure and can't recommend them highly enough. Specsure Opticians in Consett are just amazing. I have been going here for quite a few years and always get great service from all the staff. They are very professional, know their stuff and have the latest technology. They're always interested in the customers and make you feel very comfortable.
A huge choice of frames and getting your glass on the same day is brilliant.
I wouldn't go anywhere else............Try them, if you haven't already.

been to specsavers to day for an eye test very professional service my lenses were fitted into my own frames at a very good price other opticians wanted double the money recommend anyone to give them a try thanks again

A very efficient service, I was greeted and welcomed and advised how soon I would be attended.
The technology used in testing is very impressive and up to date and its use was explained to me by the technician and then by the optician Paul.
The glasses were ready for collection very quickly and fitted and checked by Tracy.

Visited specsure opticians today and received first class service from start to finish .wonderful helpful staff and great choice of frames.

I received a eye test last week from a lovely tall gentleman. My test was explained in detail ( which has never been done before).
I left my glasses today for my lenses to be put into and received them back in 1 hour , amazing . The staff were lovely and friendly and very busy , but very professional. I didn’t want a new case but I was given a lovely large cleaning cloth and spray .
Can I just say , thank you for a lovely friendly experience, I won’t go anywhere else

I visited Specsure Opticians today. I have never been before but had been recommended by a neighbour.
When I got to the practice it was very busy, but the staff were very organised at making sure everyone was seen to.
The Optician was a very lovely Irish man (sorry didn't catch his name), who explained everything to me.
I was then helped by one of the girls with my glasses. They explained all of my options and helped me choose some really nice frames.
All in all, a very friendly and knowledgeable staff.
I can't wait to collect my glasses next week.

I had a comprehensive eye test at Specsure in Consett quite some time ago and subsequently purchased 2 pairs of prescription glasses from their store, one pair tinted and the other clear. A few months ago I broke the nose retainer section on my tinted glasses and took them into store for repair. Despite some time having passed since my eye test and purchase not only did they replace the missing one they also replaced the one on the other side, free of charge. Today I took my clear glasses in, the legs had been loose and they slipped off my head this morning - I then stepped back to look down and pick them up, only to stand on my glasses! One lens popped out and the frame was bent and separated from the retaining screw. A big thank you to Specsure staff who in a very short time replaced the lens, repaired the frame and tightened up the legs, again free of charge. I laughingly mentioned that even my spec case was broken (has been for ages) as I put my repaired specs in to leave at which point the staff member said "Oh, I'll get you another one", promptly returning with a new case.
First class service and when my glasses eventually need replacing I'll definitely be going back to Specsure. In the midst of a stressful house move at the moment so the service received from both Specsure and another shop I visited today (also reviewed due to excellent customer service) have really made a difference to my day.
Thank you - it's nice to know that there are helpful and considerate people still out there.
