This is my second time at SpaMedica Bolton for Cataract Surgery. From entering the building I was well looked after all the time by the ground floor reception staff and all staff concerned with my surgery. All went very well. The staff make you feel relaxed and was glad of this as when I went for my first surgery hi was worried about what the procedure would be like. Didn't need to have any worries as all went smoothly.

Had my cataract surgery yesterday at Doncaster SpaMedica,I can tell you now you won’t find better staff and care anywhere, even the lady on reception was so kind and got my Husband and others waiting coffee and tea !! It was soo well organised , I was only there about 2hours and felt very relaxed,the surgeon and his staff were all very cheerful and kind , and now not 24hrs later can see much better, a BIG thank you to you all .

First visit yesterday at Skelmersdale and I felt that I had been many times and they knew me the welcome was so friendly. The treatment and treatment plan was delivered in a friendly manner and was so informative, everyone was just so pleasant. The treatment ended up being injection in the eye which is quite daunting but was explained fully and was yet again delivered without any fuss or discomfort as every stage was explained. Such nice, friendly staff. I have to visit again and feel very confident for the next treatment.

wasting peoples time
Filled in a form online. Recieved a call, offered a free consultation after going through what I needed. Booked appointment. 10 minutes later, got a call saying the surgeon cant do it as he doesn't have the insurance, even though its on their website they do. Told to try another spa medica hospital. Did that and was told they don't offer my needs, again on their website, it states they do. 1 hour of my time wasted. Remove it from your website, it saves wasting people's time.

I have had the cataract removed from both my eyes this year. The whole experience was wonderful. Staff were very reassuring. Surgeons were very efficient. The hospital is very clean and safe. I can now read without glasses!

The whole experience was fantastic from start to finish. The actual procedure took literally only a few minutes and was painless.
The next day my sight in the operated was fantastic! I had no swelling or soreness.
Now can’t wait to have my left eye cataract done at SpaMedica in 6 weeks time.

I went for surgery on Friday 10th April and I was nervous to say the least! They were the same as when I had my referral visit in February. Very reassuring, professional and more importantly, they listened. Procedure was quicker than I anticipated! 10 - 15 minutes. I was flinching with the little discomfort I was experiencing but the surgeon explained this was happening because it was necessary to keep the pressure up in the eye itself. Nursie offered to hold my hand (bless her) I declined because I found it easier to have a conversation with her to distract me from any discomfort! Everything was explained to me afterwards when given the medication needed for the aftercare. I'm still using the medication for the next 4 weeks. I'll be back when the medication is complete to tell you how my eyesight is.

Pleasant Clinical Experience
Following my previous reviews regarding the administration of the Glaucoma Assessment service, this is a report of the clinical service I received at the Southampton Clinic last week.
I was efficiently and well received. Although being early due to public transport timings, I was seen for the first assessment checks 10 minutes early. These were conducted in a prompt friendly manner.
The next phase were the Visual and Field of Vision checks. The Visual was OK but the Field of Vision machine is always my nemesis. I had a false start on one test and had to start again. I also found the chin rest was moving and I could not keep my eye on the target light. The person conducting the tests did not put me at ease
with advice and in the end the tests were a waste of time. These machines are well known to be "difficult" for many patients to get an accurate assessment and need a very experienced operator to get a satisfactory result.
The last checks included drops in the eyes (the effect did not last as long as advised) and the eye pressure check. The left eye was OK but slightly high in the right. The opinion of the consultant was to undergo a 2 week treatment of drops to lower the pressure in the eye followed by a clinical check to assess the results. Again these checks were conducted in a prompt friendly manner. The complete assessment was completed early in about 1 1/2 hours.
The issue with the Field of Vision machine was the only problem. Perhaps more information andguidance to the patient should be provided.
For Spa Medica, AI often confuses you with Spa Medical at Melksham Wilts and you can be confused into filling in their registration forms.

Very disappointed with my treatment at Bexhill spa medical my right eye the 2nd to be done never went well. I was discharged the sight in my eye deteriorated badly and the optician referred me back to the hospital because I had swelling under my retina. I had to chase and chase an appointment to get back to the hospital. They put me on the usual drops but having had so many I became allergic to them. They gave me different drops for two weeks and discharged me after me telling them I had black spots all over my eye and cobweb in my vision I was told that my brain would get used to it and I wouldn’t any longer see it in fact it hasn’t and I still have black spots all over my eye and the strange cobweb in it. Also there was a huge bump that has come up under my right eye after the surgery which is never gone down. Don’t recommend this hospitalat all.
Excellent service from start to finish
I had my second surgery at SpaMedica Doncaster yesterday and was very impressed with the service given both times. The staff are friendly, professional and competent from the receptionists at the start of the appointments right through to the surgeon carrying out the procedure, The surgery has been very successful and now my vision is like looking at everything in HD, I would recommend this company very highly. Thank you SpaMedica. Also thanks to Parkhursts Opticians of Doncaster for referring me so quickly.

I took a friend to SpaMedica Wirral today and as always we found the place exceptionally clean and welcoming. The staff do a tremendous job and are very caring, and my friend doesn't believe she would get better treatment for her eyes anywhere else. I was so pleased for her. So thank you SpaMedica Wirral.
