I love my new Space maker wardrobes and there are so many good things to say about the service that this really should be a 5 star review. However there were a number of bumps in the road that really shouldn't have happened, knocking it down to a 4.

So the good stuff first. Service was excellent right from the start with Joseph the designer who, not only resolved all the issues I was aware of, also identified and resolved some I hadn't even thought about.

Next came Andrew the surveyor who also doubled up as the guy removing my old wardrobe. Again, great service and went the extra mile to resolve a number of minor issues re shelving costs.

Then there was the fitter who noticed a major problem (more about this further down) and had it rectified, without hassle, on the day. He then went on to do an excellent job fitting what was not a straightforward job because had to work around an existing hot tank in the middle of the run. Add to that the joys of working in an Edwardian house where no walls are straight and the lime plaster walls always through up the odd surprise along the way!

Finally there was Claire, the Installation Manager who moved mountains to get my installation day moved back a week with minimal notice and regularly rang me back when she said she would.

The bumps in the road were when the fitter turned up to fit the wardrobes he discovered they were not deep enough at one end. This meant that all the external carcasses (excluding the doors) had to be returned and remade. This really shouldn't have happened.

That said, I have no complaints about the way the issue was resolved. Spacemaker pulled out all the stops to get new materials delivered in time for fitting the following week with no hassle to me.

There was also a manufacturing defect with one of the doors that I noticed after they had been fitted but this too was rectified and a new door supplied seamlessly.

Also, as another reviewer noticed, the quality of some of the internal fittings (eg shelves) did not match the quality of the main frame and doors.

So, in summary:
Service - excellent
Problem resolution - excellent
Design solution - excellent (I now have usable space where none existed previously)
Cost - high end but worth it in my view
Internal organisation -definitely an area for improvement.
Recommended? Yes. Would use them again.

From translating my idea into a workable plan, checking every detail, excellent customer service, efficient and professional fitting, I would highly recommend Spacemaker as a company you can trust to deliver exactly what you want.

The entire process was really smooth and the team were really helpful and patient from consultation to installation. Gary and Lawrence who installed the units were great to work with, they were thorough and communicative.

We bought fitted furniture in August 2024. The process is straightforward and when we pointed out that one surface was not as ordered it was replaced immediately. Two years later we have had minor problems with the neon strips failing intermittently. In both cases the company fixed the issues quickly and without issue. Definitely recommend this compnay for their products and their after sales.

I can’t understand how this company gets good reviews given the poor manufacturing quality and slow service that we have experienced. More than once during the year it has taken Spacemaker to complete our work, we have requested to be put in contact with the Managing Director to escalate our concerns and have been refused each time.

We commissioned Spacemaker for “bespoke” fitted wardrobes and drawer units in April 2025. They indicated a 3 week turnaround and a single day for installation, but it took until May 2026 (over a year) for the work to be complete. On the first fitting visit in May 2025, many of the “made to measure” parts were either missing or the wrong size. Since then, we have scheduled another 10 visits for additional installation or remedial work, of which they have cancelled two at short notice. Even at the end, after the final visit, the installation was incomplete with parts posted to me to fit myself.

Besides missing or incorrectly sized parts, the quality issues we’ve encountered include:
- ‘Push to open’ drawer runners that either didn’t open, or didn’t close, or both
- Sliding doors that would not stay in position
- Replacement drawers that repeatedly detached from the runners
- A cupboard door that could not open fully due to a design oversight

The manufacturing quality was so problematic that the only way for them to address our issues was to completely replace all drawer units because the parts didn’t fit together properly. Although they now function, we still have multiple drawers that sound like a twanging spring every time they open and close.
The process has caused significant disruption, with multiple days staying in to wait for visits, cutting and drilling carried out in the bedroom (although they deny this), and having limited use of bedroom furniture for days, weeks, or in some cases months.

Communication has been poor throughout, with broken promises, updates requiring repeated chasing, and very little proactive follow-up from them. Despite raising a complaint about the time, disruption, and quality, no resolution or compensation has been offered.

The overall product and service did not match the timeframe quoted and does not reflect the high prices they charge or the marketing blurb on their website. I definitely would not recommend this company.

Staff very professional and respectful and a great asset to the company they did an amazing job and we are really pleased with the results. Would highly recommend Spacemaker.

From start to finish they were very helpful and professional, for a product that seemed expensive, WOW. My wardrobes are beautifully finished and well built. They made the whole process so easy from design tosurvey to removal and then fitting everyone has been very friendly and amazing.

I could never recommend them enoigh, just a brilliant local company that has completely changed how my rooms look and a perfect finishing touch to any room.

Our designer, Aga, was key to the success of the project. She worked closely with us, ensuring the final design was exactly what we envisioned - beautiful, practical, and perfectly suited to our living room aesthetic.

The installation was carried out by Lawrence. He completed the job in one day, and the quality of the install was brilliant, with the finishing being particularly flawless. Lawrence was great offered some helpful advice on the tv placement and mount, making the installation day smooth and easy.

Excellent bespoke-fitted floor-to-ceiling solution (in a tall room) with internal lighting. Everyone was brilliant, from initial consultation on design, actual measurement survey, and finally the fitting by Gary and Rob. Found after shopping around for various alternatives.
