What a Stunning Ercol showroom!
We travelled to Smiths specifically to shop for an Ercol extending dining table and chairs. It was well worth the travel. The Ercol showroom upstairs is out of this world! It's a modern, stylish, well- designed space which feels welcoming and warm. The ceilings are lower so you get a better sense of the furniture proportions in relation to a room in your home, compared to a vast showroom.
They have pieces of furniture on show in every colour of finish available, including the brand new green and blue wood stains. The wide selection of Ercol furniture on display is second to none and at very competitive prices. Andrea is extremely knowledgeable and friendly, we browsed at our own pace, but he was then at hand each time we wanted his help. Nothing was too much trouble.
We were able to try sitting on every style of dining chair and place them at the table we loved and decide which ones we preferred. We fell in love with the Fairmile large table and chairs in 'burnt umber' and happily purchased them on the spot. We were given the options of an immaculate ex-display set, or order a new one to be made. We needed a set quickly so chose the display model at a superb price. It was delivered today by their own fantastic delivery team (which we arranged easily over the phone with the delivery manager) The team assembled it, took all packaging and left the beautiful set in our dining room.
Whilst we were in store on the day of purchase we were able to look at other furniture items that are available in the same colour to compliment the dining set. We will definitely purchase again shortly.

Our experience with Smiths so far has been excellent. Living in Scotland makes us ‘distance buyers’ but despite this we could not have been treated better. Christopher has been helpful, responsive and easy to deal with. This company is absolutely fantastic - knowledgeable staff, friendly, get back to you super fast. We are around 200 miles away and haven't even been to the showroom but trust that this company will deliver on all ordered. Received a phone call from Smiths to ensure correct part was ordered and explanation of care when fitting, delivery was by Royal Mail tracked delivery postage was paid arrived on time first class company. 10 day delivery item arrived within 3 days Thank you.

I live in Jersey C.I. which adds a layer of complexity, or so I thought, to delivery.
Graeme assured me they'd dealt with this situation previously and it wouldn't be a problem.
I always knew I'd purchase my Ercol bedroom set from Smiths, it was simply deciding which one.
When it came to ordering, one item wasn't in stock but Graeme checked how long it would take and provided me with revised dimensions for shipping purposes within 10 minutes of our conversation.
My order has been placed and I excitedly await delivery, which I'm confident will go without incident if the service I've received so far is a measure of their professionalism.
