SIM card deactivated if not used after 90 days
I bought this no-contract Simple Mobile hotspot 12/2022 during an ice storm that knocked out the internet for 1week. It was activated at Best Buy and worked very well. When the power came back on and I had regular internet through X-finity the hotspot was put in storage. This April 2024 I tried to renew the no-contract plan with Simple Mobile and their technical support team stated that the SIM card expired and that I would require a new SIM card. No one at Best Buy (Geek Squad) ever heard of a SIM card expiring. But further inquiries revealed that the carrier was responsible for deactivating the SIM card. One can only purchase the special SIM card (Bring your own tablet) from some Dollar General stores and some WalMarts, and simple mobile.com. I had no success at these stores and could not wait for SIM card delivery from simple mobile. I gave up on the challenge and walked over to Verizon and purchased their hotspot. The phone tech support for simple mobile was from India and although friendly the English language was difficult to understand with a heavy accent. Verizon offered face-to-face customer service and exceeded my expectations. This is one of those times that having personal interaction with the vendor is more helpful. The simple mobile hotspot was thrown in the trash.

All of what I have read here is 100% true.
You guys left out how every time you have to call customer service about anything you have to produce your imei number, or serial number for the device. You better have kept all of the original packaging or you're screwed.
Terrible customer service. Terrible internet speeds. And call center staff who dont know how to do anything but talk.

Simple Mobile customer service and BILLING system, is one of the WORST Customer Services I have EVER encountered !
They keep billing me for a Free ACP Affordability Life line program that I am signed up for. And their system keeps Billing me for the free ACP Life Line program, that is Free.
I have to talk to and get Transfered to at least 3 different customer service agents, before I can get ANYONE to even figure the problem out.
And then they won't Refund me the FULL amount that they billed me for my FREE phone line program !
And the Simple Mobile customer service agents, are from some FOREIGN country; so it is very Difficult to understand what they are saying.
And the Simple Mobile customer service agents, are like talking to ROBOTS ! They keep repeating the same thing Over and Over again ! Simple Mobile customer service agents, are so ANNOYING to talk too !
I am telling you, that Simple Mobile is one of the WORST phone companies around !!!
Purchased a BYOP kit and $30 30 day…
Purchased a BYOP kit and $30 30 day package as I have to be stateside for a month for business. As I know my phone works on the Verizon network, I purchased the 'Verizon Compatible' one. When I couldn't get it to activate online, I tried the chat and was told that I needed to use the "SIM B" in the package that only came with one SIM. Christy kept telling me that I should just call to get it take care of, despite the fact I told her multiple times I didn't have a stateside number yet. Hoping I can return this junk tomorrow and waste more time getting a whole new set from someone else.

Simple mobile is the worst. Their connection is so bad and customer service is so terrible. Did subscription with them and couldn't even load a photo, couldn't watch a video on my phone either. After being patient with their endless unsuccessful troubleshooting, I asked for a refund and they refused and instead went ahead to deduct more money from my card. Don't waste ur money and time on them. Worst service ever 😑 Wish I could give a 0 star.
One star is too good
If I could possibly give simple mobile a negative one star -1, I would. Their service is absolute garbage, not only their phone service, but their customer service. And their rewards program is a scam.

I've had simple mobile for quit a few years now and the reception gets worse and worse as time goes on. Now I can't get service in my own place in the suburbs. Constantly am losing service all the time.

Staff is not trained to handle tech issues very good terrible in fact... Other country service can't communicate well enough and always talk over you just like the Indian scammer sound (ironic?). Either stay da heck away!

This has to be the dubmbest phone service around. And no wonder its affilliated with the infamous DISHONEST bait and switch kings T-MOBILE. There is nothing simple about it except simply dumb.The app is hard to use! No payment methods found. There is a button for everything but a renewal of monthly payment. Customer service is based somewhere that you hear roosters crow in the background and rep. was totally lost about payment but the rep. needed all card info. Uh. Not gonna do. Simple Mobile's anthem should be circus music because its been carnavilized in all areas of service competency and decency.

I wish I could give a zero star
I wish I could give a zero star to that company. I've been with them for many many years and never was the service as bad as after they got bought by Verizon. Customer support absolutely sucks and getting to talk to a LIVE person is impossible. DO NOT USE this company for your phone service; YOU WILL REGRET IT!

Trash company
I am extremely displeased with this firm, particularly with a staffer named Romene, badge number 510440, who displayed a complete lack of professionalism. I was denied the opportunity to speak with a supervisor about receiving a refund for a plan I hadn't used and that had been switched to another one. As a result, I ended up paying for two plans, one of which I never utilized.
Such a disappointing experience has led me to consider moving my three lines of service to another provider.

Tried activating my phone service, spent a hour and a half on the phone
Tried activating my phone service only for me to have to call the company, spent an hour and a half getting help only for one of the workers, john i think his name was to tell me that i "switched my phone number" on the phone im activating when i didnt. Wasted 25 dollars to be able to make calls and texts.
This company is garbage
At first the service was regular but in the last two years it got worse, I spent a year and a half calling customer service 2 times a month, one to have one of the three lines on the family plan reconnected because every month they left someone disconnected and The second call to get my money back because they were overcharging me, the same thing all the time, the last time they didn't even give me my money back and I had to open a case with my bank. I switched to Helium Mobile which pays me to use the service, $80 a month for each line, for three lines, do the math... What more can I ask for? Here I leave the referral and you will receive money for using AT8790V .Simple Mobile Never again!!
