Charged me in advance, before I moved out, based on an estimated bill, which was way higher than any previous bills. Scam
The absolute worst company I have ever dealt with. After my home was destroyed by Hurricane Helene they sent me an email and bills 1.5 months after AND expect me to pay bills from final charges for 2 weeks after my home was destroyed. In the email they stated "We are billing in arrears, so it is not uncommon to receive a final bill a month or two after moving out, depending on the billing cycle." I am 40 years old and I have NEVER been billed 2 months after using ANYTHING. This company has constantly upcharged us during the lease. You can do a simple google search and learn that this company is a scam and partners with other predatory companies. Any money you think you might be saving with national rental companies WILL be offset by this shady, unrespected company. Please lease local and shy away from this company at all costs.
Simplebills over charges college kids and there is no way around using them. And they charge you 2 months in advance for the last 2 months of your lease by OVERESTIMATING what they expect you to pay and then take 3 months to give you back any money they decide to refund. There was no one living in my 850 sq. ft. 2 bd/2bath apartment for the last 2 months of our lease and the only electricity used was the A/C, which was at 76 and the refrigerator and they charged each of us $288!!!
I would like to know how a Texas company oversees utility bill payments in Tennessee. This is a PREDATORY COMPANY...
The due date on the bill is the 26th of the month, why are they emailing me on the 1st of the following month for the next payment?
That is small in comparison to what they've done.
If you don't pay them on the due date they will take the payment without authorization (it's in the fine fine print of their contract, font size 0.1,,,
That's right snatch your money directly from your checking or savings account.
In addition to that the FEES are outrageous! This foolishness must be stopped. get out of Tennessee, texas... we can pay our own bills to our utility companies here!
Negative if I could...they bill you, THEY forget month, and then magically 2 months appears on your next bill. They say it comes from a meter reading. Really..2 months??? And ahead of the current month? No one has ever come to read the gas meter, they say they don't estimate...that's funny how close it is , like in cents, to my screen shots of my electronic payment when I paid bills myself last year. huh?? Then it's always your error and it was for the previous 30 days..that's funny...I pay the bill for the Month and within 2 weeks I get another bill for the CURRENT month which is only HALF way through. Scam.
Scammers and spammers. They claim I am their customer and spam me continuously. They even replied to my complaints explaining me that they won't stop spamming me. Infuriating.
overcharged us regularly for utilities, reaching triple digits per person for several months, and took several more months to finally get the issue resolved and we got only some of our money back. then during our final months they charged us “estimated” values for the final month as they said they couldn’t charge us after we moved out. those “estimated” values were absurd and almost 4x as much as we were actually using compared to prior months. they do have a “true-up” form you can request to have them reimburse whatever the difference is from their estimations vs the actual utility fee, but they say i’m not eligible as the apartment has cancelled their arrangement with simplebills as of the end date of my lease. Well, it also says I have to wait until my lease ends to file for the true up in the first place. So now I wonder how often do people ACTUALLY get to use this true up form of if they always have some excuse for why they cant give you your money back.
This organization will steal from you if you use them. The final bill will be based on some unjustifiable and BS math that doesn't add up. It will absolutely add up for Simple Bills as they bill you for way more than your monthly average. And when you don't pay because you're protesting their dubious math, they will charge you an obscene amount of money in late fees. They must share their theft with the apartment operators because it is impossible to rent from most student apartment operators without Simple Bills. When you ask for the contact information for their billing or operations manager, they will refuse for security reasons. That's because none of the scumbags wants to be held liable for stealing from you.
SimpleBills is a predatory company. They take advantage of college students. The final bill is “estimated” by using a bogus equation that absolutely does not reflect an accurate estimate. My child’s bill is more than double any bill that has ever been paid. The company states that the final bill is “estimated” from the last 90 days and “historical weather”. My child’s apartment complex requires residents to use SimpleBills and I would suggest never moving into a complex that requires you to use this company! I would also Recommend reaching out to the attorney General‘s office and the apartment complex specifically to let them know the practices of SimpleBills. Obviously, the reviews paint a really important picture of the practices of this company.
Worst company you could ever imagine dealing with. They are completely unorganized and will send you a bill at anytime with duplicate amounts they "missed" on the last bill. Each bill is unexpected and they only give you 10 days to pay and a small extension if youre able to. Very unprofessional company, all tenants will hate this service. Avoid at all costs!
Avoid if you are able. They offer convenience of centralizing your utilities while using an apartment rental. The catch is they “estimate” your last two months of utilities, and those estimates are grossly high.
Their company offers a “true-up” option if you prefer not to pay their estimate. Paying the estimate up front leaves no guarantee that money you overpay will be returned to you. The true up request must be made “within two weeks of your lease end date”. Since your bill is processed before mid month, you will never have a bill eligible for true up because it will have already been processed, leaving the customer no option for resolution. SimpleBills seems to be aware of this, and REALLY SORRY about overcharging you.
