Booked lap of lights at Silverstone with ice skating after, made the mistake of booking one on one day the other on the next, customer services where fast in helping me sort the problem and make what could of be a stressful and costly mistake into a great show of customer service! The even was well run, such fun for all ages and well worth every penny

Unfortunately a really poor experience…
Unfortunately a really poor experience from the team at Silverstone. We booked the Christmas Track of Lights and Ice Skating experience on New Years Day. A number of days later Silverstone cancelled and have closed on NYD. They offered fo the same price another date, but because they notified us so late they had no availability apart from evening on Boxing Day which was not suitable for us…
Contacted the team - no response. Can’t find a phone number… being forced to cancel and get a refund.
Really disappointing as we were super excited to come.

I bought tickets to lap of lights and…
I bought tickets to lap of lights and sent an email to request a time change. I got a response in less than an hour with new tickets and the time a lot amended. Really great customer service!!

This was not what I was expecting at…
This was not what I was expecting at all.
We arrived late as we couldn’t figure out how to get to santas garage. We were then told that we could go in and santas story would start in 5 mins. We looked at a couple of models and went to see Santa. It was a brief story with no props or pictures to go with the story. I took kids ages between 4-10 and none of them really liked the story. We were then shown to the exit with a tiny gift given by one of the Elves (not sure why Santa couldn’t give it- it’s not like there were that many children) and I’m not sure why I had given my kids names and things they had been good at on the registration form. We then went back into the kind of grotto area which was really poor. A few models, a sparse reindeer food area and that was pretty much it. £18 per child was far too expensive- I’d never go again.
Lap of lights was also disappointing as we drove so much which didn’t even have proper lights. The only good part was the end and again it was very expensive at £75 for the car.
Even the “colouring corner” was just a couple of kids tables with some papers strewn about with colouring pens (half of them on the floor) and most the sheets coloured in.
Overall a very disappointing experience. I won’t be going again.

I had to change my lap of lights date due to a work schedule change - they replied the next day with the changed date and sent tickets really quickly! Great customer service, thank you.

This is the second time we have been to…
This is the second time we have been to lap of lights.
Unfortunately our car broke down just before we were due to go, I emailed and the staff who were quick to respond and accommodating to move our booking to a date when we had our car back. The lap of lights is a great event and well worth a visit with the family.

We were booked on to see the lights…
We were booked on to see the lights Sunday (21/12) evening at 9:30pm. Unfortunately we broke down on the track and didn’t get to see them. All 5 of us were mortified and the children upset however the staff were so helpful and patient and nothing was to much trouble. We spoke with the customer service team the day after who again were amazing. We eventually got to see the lights and both kids and adults were In awe. Thank you for making a dreadful evening manageable and for all of your help!! We would recommend this to all!!!!!

Sadly not be returning
We attended Thursday and I would like to share some feedback. I have to share how disappointed we were. We went a few years ago after Covid and it was amazing! I could hardly believe how little lights there were in comparison. Santas garage could have been fabulous but to begin with we struggled to find it. Elf giving directions too busy chatting to another colleague. Wandered downstairs and into the area that was for food and drink asked someone who then redirected us to the right place. I say loosely greeted by an elf honestly the lack of enthusiasm from
The elves was not ideal and it was such a shame. They had all the gear and no idea chatting amongst themselves. We were told we would have an audience with Santa in 15minutes. So hang around the area which was really well resourced. We saw curtain being pulled and had to ask if we could go in now.. if we hadn’t asked no one would have told us. Prior to arrival we had to fill in information about our child this was not used.. Santa raced his way through the story we couldn’t remember what it was about.. quick photo shoot and a token gift and out the door. Maybe it’s because I’m a primary head /ex secondary drama teacher or maybe it’s because we have been spoilt by previous visits to mini meadows and the like which have all been very magical but I will not be recommending silverstone . Sadly it has become a money making machine the magic is no longer there! Gutted as it was probably our last chance to visit Santa with our now 10 year olds and what a disappointment

Lap of lights requires track day insurance
Be warned, they advertise the event as being covered under your normal insurance, in the FAQ's they go on to say appropriate insurance should be in place. An assumption can be made that your normal insurance would cover it as a non race event, they've even said as much in the Facebook conversation. After contacting my insurance and several others they have all declined cover for the event, they have all said track day cover is needed and they are aware of the event and have advised it's misleading to suggest standard insurance will cover this.
This is what they've told me "we don’t require specialist or track-day insurance, and the experience is suitable for standard road vehicles."
I was bought this as a give and not going to shell out another £200+ for track day insurance to attend the event. They're now refusing a refund to the original purchaser.
This is just a cash grab, they should clearly state that even though this is not a race event track day insurance is required. Silverstone I'm more than happy for you to provide names of companies who cover the event in the standard policy but based on your responses I doubt you'll be very helpful.

Very poor flexibility on changing ticket times even when all time slots are still available to purchase online. Their policy is not designed to be customer friendly and no help was given to support our needs, very dismissive and unhelpful set up.

Big respect to Silverstone's support department. I had quite a few queries about attending next year's F1 race as a disabled person and they answered them all and helped me enormously.
I am truly grateful to all the staff in the support department.

Lap of lights - very disappointing. Basically spent an hour stuck behind a load of brake lights, making it hard to enjoy the mediocre display of lights that was on display.
Not worth the money imo.
