Have used this site for storage previously under the previous company & never had any issues with them. When my previous storage company increased their prices substantially the first place I went to look was here. Great service & easy to sign up.

I came 4 days before I rented the unit and 2 days after confirmation to make I sure I knew how to enter the building, kit to use and the size of the locker was correct. Was told by staff I wouldn’t be shown until I had the stuff to put in it, which is backward but ok so I left. Turned up with all my stuff in a van and the locker was too small. The same staff member then complained i didn’t have an enough time to unload before they were closing when I had just come down from Yorkshire to Portsmouth and traffic is out of my control and the locker was not the right size. Which if I’d seen the locker beforehand then arranging a bigger one would not have been an issue. Making the storage usable 24/7 use would make sense and is done in other storage facilities with a key fob for users.

Absolutely awful!
When I signed up for storage, I paid for a set amount of days, fully expecting that the charges would reflect this agreement. However, I was shocked to receive an invoice for an additional full month because I supposedly failed to provide 15 days’ notice. This notice requirement was not clearly communicated at the start of the agreement, which is both misleading and unacceptable.

In good faith, I offered to pay pro-rata for the remainder of the month plus the additional days to meet the 15-day notice period. Instead, I was told I must pay the full monthly amount or face threats of a debt collection agency. This approach feels exploitative and demonstrates a lack of regard for fair customer service.

Your introduction offer may appear appealing, but it seems designed to trap customers with hidden charges and unreasonable terms. I feel deceived and taken advantage of, and I am highly disappointed with how this matter was handled.

The team in Portsmouth are so lovely and helpful, happy to go out of their way to help and have always recommended the exact size I need. Have used repeatedly over the years and the team never let me down.

Shurgard have just taken over my local LokNStore. Notice of the change was less than one month. The options for changing payment were not well explained and did not include direct debit. The invoices were wrong. Based on the change I had to commit several hours of work to re-provide proof of insurance, set up new payment methods, write to request explanations of incorrect figures on the invoices. Then after less than two months in charge, they have actioned an 'annual price increase of 16% - well above CPI and energy cost increases. I didn't like LokNStore but Shurgard are even worse. I will be quitting as soon as I can.
