I have been taking my daughters to a family class in Maidenhead and we absolutely love it. There is a real community spirit and we felt welcome from our first class. Sensei and Senpai balance discipline with humour perfectly. As a 44 year old woman, it is a great way to improve strength and fitness as well as learning new skills and build some new neural pathways! My daughter (10) loves the fact that you learn a new technique every week. My 13 year old loves that she feels a part of something that everyone enjoys. She appreciates all the feedback she receives because it helps her improve. I think it's been fabulous for our confidence. We highly recommend these classes!

The location to start of with is very convenient. Near local neighbourhood. The hall inside is quite spacious, easily able to get 20-30 students. There is also a seating area for parents to wait. Toilets and changing rooms are next to the hall. The instructors (mainly 3) are very friendly and supportive. They conduct the classes professionally which is vital for such an activity/art/skills but also they throw in a few friendly instructions. The packages, dates & timings offered are great and best thing is the flexibility to attend either of the two classes in a week (in case you miss one). So far my son & myself have enrolled recently in the ‘parent & kids class’ but have a strong feeling that it will go well for the future!

My Son attends lessons every week and the Sensei is professional and supporting. The other students are also very welcoming. The class has helped my Son with discipline and Self Defence

My son has been attending classes for 2 months now. I was a bit sceptical initially however, after the trial class the confidence boosted and following a month, my son was already loving it.

What a great place for kids to learn confidence and self defence. All teachers have a individual approach to the students helping them to get as most as possible from your lesson , there is no rush on the lesson , no one is stying behind just practice and more practice and useful knowledge. Great place if you want your kid to know how to protect him self and build a confidence. My son love it and awaiting every week for his lesson.

Shuhari self defence training is excellent, whilst all of the instructors are very serious about the training they give to the students they are also very understanding of each students concerns and needs, we looked at several martial arts clubs as we had concerns about school bullying, and of all those we looked at Shuhari was the best option by far, we have seen not only our child’s self defence skills develop but also their confidence and self respect grow. The Shuhari instructors seem to care for and treat all students as family.
