Disappointing design and response
We had a quick delivery etc and it dries clothes well above our boiler, but we wouldn’t recommend the traditional design as the slats wobble a lot in the end bar holes and could easily fall out the ends when putting on or pulling off clothes, even when lowered. We've installed and put it together correctly as per the instructions. We’ve zip tied them in by drilling small holes in the wood bars to secure them to the metal end frame but of course this looks a bit unstylish. We actually think the design where the bars wobble in the end metal holes needs a modern day redesign. We had a rather patronising and dismissive response from the company who have said “ The wood requires to have some play in the bars otherwise the whole system becomes too ridged.(sic)
In installing your Sheila Maid you will require to have the slats extending through the racks at either end as per the instructions. Please also ensure that the rope is knotted so when lowering or raising the Sheila Maid it is kept level.

I’d buy one!
Having moved house and left my Sheila Maid behind I realised it was the only thing I missed!!!
Normal life restored as I have bought another.
You will definitely need a very handy person (if that’s not you) to fit it as you need to screw it into the floor joists above but If you’re thinking about buying one I would!!!
