The cruise, ship, staff and the food and drink were fantastic. Sadly the chauffeur service didn’t arrive and left me stranded!

Mostly truly amazing experience- shout out to all boat staff who were exceptional.
Only negative was lazy meet and greet scenic staff munich airport - in their office no sign - we had to phone boat to ask where they were - hopeless. Also terrible pick up by taxi at manchester - in wrong place and no meet and greet

Wonderful scenery, well organised tour, tour guide and coach driver very good company helpful and knowledgeable. Plenty of visits to interesting places. Good hotels and food.
Recommended.

Once we arrived on the ship our experience was five stars. The crew were attentive the level of comfort in the cabin and communal areas was excellent and the food at every meal had something to suit all tastes.
we were impressed at the planning of meals and the lack of waste that can sometimes be seen. The food quality was excellent. Drinks and food service was quick as was our nightly tea order from the butler service. we loved the daily port talks and there was lots of information around to ensure you got to the right place at the right time.
The organised trips that we enjoyed were well organised using local guides who brought towns and cities to life by giving an insight into daily life there.
Highlights for us were the private classical concert at the Vienna arsenal and our meal in the Italian restaurant whilst we sailed Budapest at night.
The only negative was our journey from Munich airport to the ship. We were left in Munich airport for two hours apparently waiting for passengers who did not arrive. Whilst we were kept informed at intervals we felt fobbed off and it was not the start we wanted or expected. The two hour delay meant we were last to board the ship and had to rush to make the orientation meeting followed by dinner. For the cost of the holiday after waiting an hour at the airport i would have expected some other form of transport to be provided for myself and another couple who were in the same situation as ourselves

Food, drink and environment brilliant.Tours excelent and stimulating
Areas for improvement are:
1. Butler service(explanation)
2. Induction to the ship.
3.It was'nt a good idea to talk about planning for disembarking plans on the second day of the tour and constantly pushing it throughout the cruise.

The actual cruise was amazing, as were the staff on board.

The staff prior to the cruise in the UK were not the best. Took an average of 2 weeks to respond to queries. It felt very much like we’ve got your money so we’ll get back to you when we feel like it!

Great weather and we met loads of lovely people.

Best were the bar staff, mostly from Serbia / Montenegro. The service was the most friendly and efficient I have ever experienced.

Food was amazing, both in the dining area and in the bar cafe. The notable and bizarre exception was the speciality night at the Italian restaurant where the whole table said it was very poor. Mains and sweet inedible.

Other cruise staff were brilliant, especially front of desk, cruise director and team. Excursions were good and some excellent local guides with efficient intercom tech.

Room was good, though we had one night with cigarette smoke being sucked into the air con and passed into the room. We also had a minor toilet issue.

The gym was too small to be useful and for some reason the only stretch class was at 0700 only !

The real problem was getting to and from the cruise.

Nobody met us at Munich airport, no signs. no people (unlike Viking and other cruise companies). The Scenic support line is a premium rate in some other part of Europe and not accessible on mobile phone plans (sort that out Scenic). We called the boat and the front desk there called their lazy agents at the airport. 5 of them were chatting in their remote office with nobody at the meeting point looking after the already waiting guests or greeting newly arrived and lost, like us. I'm sure management don't realize, that it is so poor. Get a pendant sign (like the guides used) and put a person at the meeting point (explain that having a nice chat is lower priority than customers arriving after a long journey). Get a non-premium or UK phone support.

Fly back from Budapest. Since Scenic booked our flights we had issues getting luggage tags as it required a Scenic email address. The Scenic rep did persuade check-in to do it manually but wit was stressful. On return to Manchester our BlackLane driver was not there and it took over 40 minutes to track him down and we had to walk some 15 mins with our bags because he wouldn't come to the correct terminal.

Summary:
#On cruise: amazing staff, great experience and highly recommended.
#Transfer Logistics: Scenic severely let down by shocking airport agents and transfer logistics.
#If I did another River Cruise I would arrange my own transfer or use another cruise line.

Everything Scenic did was great. The ship, all the crew, the food . Every trip was well organised . There is no doubt I would go on another Scenic cruise and recommend you to everyone who also enjoys cruising. Thankyou Scenic

Just before our river cruise they emailed us saying that a small party were joining us and it would not affect us in anyway,well I can assure you it did 62 Mexicans non speaking English invaded the boat not interested in any of our activity’s spoke over all of the entertainment so quantity not quality was the issue ,offered a small voucher for our inconvenience insult ,then was told to complain to abta😡😡

Scenic is over-priced for the experience provided and sometimes fails to meet the highest luxury standards.

We did Prague to Amsterdam in March. This is 15 days

The ship may dock next to another ship, or another ship next to it. This means that passengers have to pass through your ship (or the other) to access land. Should your cabin blinds be open at this time, there will be absolutely no privacy during the docking.

They will leave for excursions even before the departure time, don't keep track on who is on the excursions.

I found that for myself this was too long. I was on board with a great group of people overall - most were Australian. A few Canadians, NZ and US. Age mix 60-80 yrs 

The food choices were good.
Wines paired at dinner. 
There are only 4 tables for 2 in the restaurant

This was an outstanding trip to Antarctica and Scenic excelled at the exploration experience. The expedition team were first rate in their skill set and knowledge. The ship is well designed for polar exploration with thought given to best provision of activity opportunities. Food overall was of a high standard and the crew generally tried so hard to make your holiday special.
Certain aspects led to four stars instead of five. The boarding experience was poor and cabin design left much to be improved.

Wonderful experience with helpful and knowledgeable guides

The cruise to the Falklands, South Georgia and Antarctica with the Scenic Eclipse was unforgettable. The food and drink, on shore tours and service in all areas was first class. Safety of guests and preserving the natural environment and wildlife were a top priority with no compromise. It really made me really appreciate the importance of looking after our planet properly.

We returned from our ‘holiday of a lifetime’ with Scenic just over a week ago. As expected, Antarctica was absolutely fabulous and we will forever be grateful to have viewed Susan Calman’s adventure on Scenic Eclipse which gave us the idea to book this trip. The yacht, the crew, the food and everything else about this cruise was absolutely fantastic and we only wish we could do it again. The highlight of the trip was the helicopter excursion which was the best experience we have ever encountered (possibly will never do anything to beat it!). We will be talking about this trip for a long time. Thank you Scenic.

Brilliant Christmas Market cruise with a really interesting, enjoyable itinery. Excellent accommodation, service and food. The staff were wonderful, so helpful and informative. We also appreciated being able to stay on board an extra few hours at the end of the cruise as we had a late afternoon flight. Thank you Scenic.

We have been travelling with Scenic for 15 years.
They have always been reliable and caring.
The staff in the offices are helpful and polite.
All the crew on their river cruises and Eclipse ocean voyages are always very kind, helpful and dedicated.
We have enjoyed every voyage - the range and quality of excursions is very good.
They may seem expensive when you first book but everything is included and of excellent quality.

Recent trip to Vietnam and Cambodia was excellent. First class hotels and excursions. Our tour guide was beyond marvellous - nothing was too much trouble for her. She was knowledgeable and fun and passed on to us an insight into the culture of the countries we visited. Scenic go the extra mile in getting front seats at all venues.
