Un serveur dédié hébergé par Scaleway/Online est tomber en panne (Linux Ubuntu) chez eux.
Ils n'ont pas été capable de le redémarrer même en mode rescue. Ils n'ont apparemment aucune sauvegarde de leurs systèmes et ont comme seul argument "Je suis navrée, les sauvegardes ne font pas partie du scope de notre support. Je ne peux, de mon côté, vous porter assistance à ce sujet.
Je me tiens néanmoins à votre disposition si vous avez d'autres demandes, et attends votre feu vert pour initier un remboursement, ou un upgrade."
Donc débrouilles toi avec ça. perte d'exploitation énorme pour nous + tentative de vente forcée de produits nettement plus chers alors que nous étions satisfait de l'offre que nous avions.
Dommage qu'on ne puisse pas mettre un zéro comme note.

The company bills customers for undelivered services. They billed my credit card for services they never made available to me and went ahead and overbilled more than the service cost. They have the worst support system ee.g.Morisson Bachir. Very rude and unprofessional. Try this company at your own risk.

One of the best provider using from years
All was OK until the server started having segmentation faults.
All was OK until the server started dying with segmentation faults all over.
In their expert opinion, as long as you can connect to SSH, the server is in working order, so you can't get a refund for the month, nor will they change RAM/SSD. SSD's SMART was showing 70 at life span.
When terminating the server, AFTER you click on "terminate" they will show you a text that they will charge you for the next month's service because you didn't notify them by the 20th of the month...
Also, they started cheap and prices went up by 50% since I first found them.

M1 Cloud service is ok, but they ask you for sensitive personal data in order to use it.
The Mac M1 cloud service is good and ok in regards to pricing. However, I was only able to use it for 5 hours and then they locked my account asking for proof of identity. Please note that the identity verification was optional in the dashboard. They asked me for a photo of my ID and a selfie of me holding my ID via email (again huge concern). Never have I ever been asked for such information from Amazon, Google, Heroku, Azure etc. I was just using the M1 with Xcode and they mentioned that my account was locked due to a "potential security issue" and an "an inconsistency in your account details", therefore "for security reasons we need to identify you as the owner of the personal and banking data you have saved on this account". I asked them to kindly further explain the inconsistency that they found and they refused "Due to internal security and privacy reasons, we cannot share the detailed information that lead to this decision". Absolutely outrageous, they expect the customer to send them personal information (ID, selfie, address), and they refuse to explain why. I think they just want you to have a taste of their services and then just lock you out of your account until you provide your data, because I've seen lots of users complaining about this. Had I not saved my work, it would've been lost and kept for ransom (my personal info). So that's the end of my experience with Scaleway and will not return as a customer. Thanks!
Lot of bugs, Not production ready
I hate to say it because I'm french and it's a french company but stay away from this provider, particularly all the storage services.
Their services are not production ready and it had disastrous impact for our company.
If you doubt, just go on their slack channel and look at what users are experiencing.
Scaleway is charging for unused service
I tried to use a mac instance. After creating the instance I always received errors and I couldn't use the mac instance. I contacted support and the support couldn't help me. I retried again later and had the same issue. I contacted the support and the support told me that I had to verify my identity in order to use the service. I asked them why they didn't tell this to me before. If I knew that I have to verify my identity I wouldn't have started any instance in the first place. I think they are misleading customers.

Je coche une étoile mais je pense zéro.
Scaleway/Online refuse de mettre à jour le PHP au-delà de la version 7.3 sur le type d'hébergement auquel je souscris depuis des années et me renvoie à ses nouvelles offres quasiment au double du coût annuel précédent.
Une pratique commerciale que je considère déloyale, mais aussi dangereuse, car elle m’interdit d'assurer les mises à jour sécuritaires de mes sites (par ailleurs attendues par online/scaleway dans le contrat utilisateur, un comble ! ).
Et je fais ici abstraction des différents démêlés administratifs que j'ai eu avec l'entreprise concernant des prélèvements réalisés avec 3 mois d'avance et le non-respect des directives de la CNIL concernant la conservation des moyens de paiement.
A méditer avant de vous engager.
La note obtenue par l’hébergeur parle probablement d’elle-même.
Incompétence du service technique
J'ai demandé un conseil par tchat sur la syntaxe d'un code pour les Object Storage. On m'a répondu que le code était bon alors qu'il y avait une erreur (AWS_PRIVATE_S3_REGION_NAME=fr-par au lieu de AWS_PRIVATE_S3_REGION_NAME=PAR).
Je ne comprenais pas pourquoi j'avais une erreur et ai perdu du temps pour la trouver. — Par ailleurs, les réponses sont peu sympathiques, lorsque le service n'est tout simplement pas disponible.s

I rend a mac from them. it was a bad experience virtual mac was very slow and the support not answering, I just lost my money also they force you to submit your government ID and verify your credit card

Edito: ahora me piden que les pague 20€ que "les debo" de un servicio jamás contratado con ellos, y ya habiendo pagado anteriormente 6€ injustamente. Mucho cuidado con esta gente y su prueba gratuita que luego no es nada de gratuita.
Worst provider ever, don't waste your time!
This is the worst provider ever. I've bought Start-2-L server from them with specs:
Intel® Xeon® D-1531, 32 GB, 2 x 250 GB SSD and 4 failover IPs.
Firstly they don't support Proxmox 7, just Proxmox 6 which is outdated. But for Start-3-L which has same processor and just double disk they support Proxmox 7, nonsense. I've spent hours to upgrade Proxmox 6 to 7 and verify that's everything ok (ifupdown2, etc).
After that, the ordered failover IPs are blacklisted, so forget to use them for mailing.
And now the grand finale, disks are very slow. I've benchmarkd them when I purchased the server and they were normal and from one moment everything goes wrong with disks, and they don't even have parts to replace them.
How can they fck up two disks with 1% of wearout??? I guess they regret for selling this server for 23.99€ / mo.
Stay far away
I can only echo all the terrible reviews. Worst support I've ever encountered, they charged me for a server that I was never even able to connect to (technical issue on their side) and couldn't delete, even after they said they wouldn't, and wouldn't delete my personal data.
Continued billing despite requests to stop and account deletion
Despite requesting the cessation of service and deletion of my account (on multiple occasions), Scaleway have continued billing me and threatened to send the debt to collections. I paid previously in good faith, but this is taking the Mickey.
Absolutely dire support. Agents could not direct me to the services I had used nor how to cancel them, and seemingly can't suggest how to end the "service".

Most unprofessional hosting company I've ever dealt with. If you're looking for long-term hosting, don't bother wasting your time with scaleway. Don't trust them with your personal information, don't trust them to be reliable for hosting. They will find any reason to get your ID (even though they say it's optional).
I setup a server, and opened a ticket asking about merging both disks into a single volume. Their reply was "This isn't possible" (any linux user knows it is possible) that was the first red flag. Their support has no idea what they're talking about when it comes to server config.
The next day I get a random email saying they noticed an "inconsistency" in my account information that's a "security risk" and would require me to verify my ID.
the "inconsistency" is total bullsh**. My details are correct, and my credit card was verified days ago.
Ça fait deux fois en deux ans
Ça fait deux fois en deux ans. J'avais un bon serveur dédié sous Linux chez Scaleway. En redémarrant le serveur tout à fait normalement, il tombe HS. Et l'équipe ne peut pas intervenir, car ils n'ont, soi-disant, pas accès à ces lames. Résultat : après un simple redémarrage, je perds tout. Seules solutions : remplacer le serveur ou me rembourser. Cette fois, j'ai opté pour le remboursement. Bien que le service client soit réactif, je suis très déçu de cette mauvaise qualité technique, qui fait perdre crédibilité et force à Scaleway.

Probably the worst provider I have ever used.
- When registering If you have a gmail account you can't register as a company.
- ID verification is not optional even though it says it is optional.
- Their ID verification software / plugin is garbage. It works somewhat okay on ios but on android it wasn't able to focus properly for me to take the photo.
- They can lock your service for no reason at any time. (e.g. if you don't provide ID verification)
