Dear Mr. Klaus,
We understand that your experience was not what you expected, but we would like to clarify a few points from your review:
1. Toilets: The toilets were fully operational when the boat was handed over to you, as evidenced by the check-in form you signed. Your claim that they were blocked with feces from the beginning is absurd. It is impossible to believe that you would travel for 15 days with blocked toilets and not mention it immediately.
2. Fridge: We tried to show you how to drain the water from the fridge, but you refused to listen to our instructions, saying that “you know better” due to your experience. Even the most experienced captains understand that every boat has its own peculiarities, and it is essential to follow the charter company's instructions.
3. Outboard engine: You claimed that the outboard engine “works for 10 minutes and then starts smoking,” but this was the result of incorrect usage, as the impeller was damaged by sand from shallow waters. A captain with 25 years of experience should have avoided that. Moreover, when we provided you with the chart table and the necessary details for the impeller replacement, you didn’t even bother to change it. Even now, it seems you still haven’t understood the damage caused.
4. Buzzer in the saloon: The constant beeping sound that bothered you in the saloon was not related to the batteries, as we explained. It was due to the VHF charger being left plugged in. When we tried to help you, your response was once again that “you know better,” when it could have been easily resolved by simply unplugging the charger.
5. Windows: The two broken windows with aluminum frames were damaged because you left them open and then chose to place the dinghy on top of them while also stepping on the open windows. When we asked you why you did that, your response was, “You didn’t tell us not to step on them.” It’s common sense that you should never step on windows, especially open ones.
6. Behavior: Your behavior, and that of your crew, toward our staff was extremely rude and unjustifiable. You wouldn’t allow the staff to do their job and properly inspect the boat, and you reduced them to tears with your pressure and mistreatment. Exploiting the age and weakness of our employees to belittle and mock them is unacceptable. You should be ashamed of such behavior.
The issues you faced were not related to the condition of the boat, but rather your refusal to cooperate and follow instructions. Most of our clients, regardless of experience, follow our guidelines and enjoy smooth charters without problems.
Despite the difficult cooperation, we remain professional and are always available for any further clarifications.
