Questions About NHS Contractual Compliance at Romiley Dental Practice in Stockport
I attended Romiley Dental Practice in Stockport for a molar extraction that resulted in permanent nerve changes. Given this outcome, is it unreasonable to ask whether the consent process and risk explanation were properly documented?
My Subject Access Request shows no written or signed consent form and no record of nerve‑injury risk. If consent was obtained correctly, why is there no evidence of it?
When my treatment was paused for “indemnity instruction”, why was I given no explanation, no follow‑up, and no continuity of care? And if treatment was paused, why did the Practice issue a routine recall despite ongoing nerve symptoms and unresolved referral concerns?
The Practice later stated they could not continue my NHS care because only one dentist offers NHS adult treatment and I requested a different clinician after the adverse outcome. Is removing a patient from NHS care on this basis consistent with NHS contractual obligations, patient choice, and continuity‑of‑care requirements?
As these contractual and governance questions remain unanswered, I have escalated my complaint to the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman (PHSO).
