Resolving my issue customer service helped
Website issues meant that a basket was paid for three times. It was a frustrating situation being charged three times without any official order being placed. However, the team after were very sorry. They explained how they could partially and then fully refund me. As a gesture of goodwill they offered to refund me for the refund postal charges I experienced when I had to post the unwanted items back. The team were nice under the circumstances and tried to solve.

I really like this service, it’s super easy and quite quick. As a someone who has used it before they offered me a free storage of my impression so I don’t need to send mine in again if I need a new one, this was really generous.

It's been over two months since they "processed" a refund but still nothing has appeared on my card statement. And that's after having to pay for additional putty after failed attempts - I can't really speak to the quality of the process as it's my first time attempting something like this, perhaps I'm just incompetent at taking the impressions. Regardless, their customer service is extremely slow, in some cases weeks (unless it's profitable to do so?).

No Retainer 4 Months Later
I ordered a retainer impression kit on June 10th. It is now October 1st and I still do not have a retainer. The customer service is slow; they do not read your emails fully meaning you need to send further emails and wait for even longer for responses. The impressions are incredibly difficult to take and you are only given 1 spare opportunity to take an impression, and then you have to pay £10 per extra attempt. My impression was approved, so I sent it off, and I was then informed it should not have been approved and I need to redo it. I redid it using the spare putty but the impression was not approved and I was told to buy more putty for an impression I shouldn't have had to do in the first place. I really would listen to the reviews and avoid, the low price is not worth it.

I took a photo and emailed it back to them and once it got to a few days of no reply on my photos, I decided that they didn't really want to see them so I thought sod that and simply sent to impressions. I have used a number of retainer makers and so far unfortunately smile direct was the only one that did as they had said they would. the jury is still out on this one,

Scam artists with non-existent customer service
What a joke of a company.
Placed an order on the 8th of August, then decided to cancel and get a permanent wire retainer instead. I emailed and cancelled my order only 2 days later, on the 10th.
Didn't hear anything for over a week, so I sent a follow up email. Then on the 19th they replied and said they had already sent the moulds, so I would need to return these in order to receive the refund.
No moulds or anything from Retainer Direct has arrived at my address, so I responded on the same day and explained.
It is now the 27th and I have received no correspondence, no refund and no moulds from them.
Avoid this company at all costs.
Good service and product
I was anxious about ordering after seeing the reviews, but thankfully I’ve had a good experience so wanted to share.
I accidentally melted my old retainers when cleaning them, so urgently needed some new ones. Retainer Direct were by far the cheapest.
The impression kit came a day after ordering. Thankfully with a spare set of putty as I was too slow to use the first lot before it set! But the impressions were really easy to do.
I received an email to confirm the impressions were fine the same day I emailed the photos, and the retainers arrived a couple of days later. The whole process took just 8 days in total, from ordering to receiving the retainers.
The retainers themselves are much thinner but more comfortable than my old ones. My old ones were the ones I had immediately after getting my braces removed. They fit perfectly too, which I was concerned about having done the impressions myself.
Very happy with the service and product!

New improved customer service experience and quality product!
Update: I received an email in September from their customer service with an apology and explanation for their non communication. From that instance, everything moved really quickly, I received my retainers with no further fuss and I am really happy with the quality and comfort of the product. In fact, they are better quality and more comfortable than the ones I bought from the orthodontist! Retainerdirect, you are well and truly forgiven and I would now recommend since you seem to have resolved my original complaint! Thank you!
* Original post* I have taken my impressions and sent numerous emails but they are not replying to say whether the impressions are good enough. There is no address and no telephone. They have previously replied to an earlier enquiry so I know the email address is correct but it seems that they get your money in advance and then don't follow through with the order. Very disappointing to say the least. I would NOT recommend this company!

The whole process took almost over a month and when my retainers were delivered, they didn't even fit. There is no phone number to call and the emails take forever to be replied. I wish I read the reviews before purchasing a kit from them.

Impossible to get hold off. Been about 6 weeks since I sent my moulds off tried emailing them 3 or 4 times not reply and no retainers. Do not use this company.
