I couldn't recommend Remark more highly for learning BSL. Our teacher Laura was brilliant, and every lesson on our Stage 1 course was fun (apart from the exams maybe...).

My husband and I both took the BSL Level 1 course, and we were thoroughly impressed: at how thought out the sessions were, how immersive and also how much content we got through in 3 hours. We had the best teacher (Yatz Gil), and can't thank her enough for making learning BSL such a pleasurable experience. We received all course notes after each session, that we could download, we were supported prior to each exam, and the whole team made sure that if we couldn't do any exam dates, they would be as flexible as possible. If you want to learn BSL in person, this is the best place to do it.

I have recently finished my Level 1 qualification and am absolutely hooked! Yatz was brilliant and able to adjust so well to each of us as individuals, while building a lovely, inclusive atmosphere where it felt safe to learn, make mistakes and develop our understanding. I can't wait to continue the journey with Remark!

I attended the BSL Level 1 course taught by Yatz Gill. Yatz was a patient, kind, encouraging and fun teacher. I learnt a lot from her and she was always very supportive.

Attended the BSL taster evening. Great content, not just BSL focused but also raising awareness of deafness more broadly. Great energy. Great learning space. Very relaxed. Can’t wait to get started on level 1…

I loved doing my Level-3 Course with Remark! Fantastic facilities and staff. I felt super supported along the way.

I finished at the beginning of March - and look forward to hopefully doing my level-6 with them this year.

I really enjoyed learning my level 1 BSL with Remark. Laura is a fantastic teacher who is really engaging and made the classes fun! All the other teachers I met all seemed very nice too! If you are interested in learning BSL in the future, I would recommend Remark highly!

Very informative, provided a great introduction and the overall presentation was excellent. The presenter and interpretor worked well as a team and offered a nice and welcoming environment.

Just finished my level 1 BSL with Yatz, who is a wonderful teacher. We were given enough repetition to be able to imbed our learning but also some lovely work that helped us as individuals.
I have already recommended others to go and work with them. Lovely mix of group and pair work and our teacher slowly started to drop in stories which we were delighted to realise we could understand from all our immersive work!

I just completed my Level 1 with Yatz and loved every minute. She is a great teacher and has a wonderful sense of humour. I have to be honest, when I realised the course was going to be delivered 100% in BSL, I was really worried but it was definitely the best way to learn. I feel we were very well prepared for the exams and that Yatz steered the course well but also taught us all sorts of things that weren’t on the syllabus. The Remark! staff were really welcoming and chatty (excellent chance to practise BSL!) and it’s a great atmosphere. The only thing I would mention is that I would like to have learned some more about Deaf culture. All in all, it was a hugely positive experience and I will be returning for Level 2 in September.

I thoroughly enjoyed my level 1 course in a way I have not for any spoken language I’ve tried to learn. The prep and teaching was excellent and I learned so much every lesson. I will be attending level 2 at Remark as I had such an excellent experience and would like to continue beyond that if I can.

Great communication in advance of the session and follow up afterwards. The session itself was enjoyable, informative and practical. Exactly what we needed. Look forward to working with Robert and Remark in future.

We had a fantastic introduction to BSL session with Robert and Andy from REMARK as a part of a team building day. It was interesting, interactive and insightful, everyone got involved and it was the talk of the day - would highly recommend this, in fact, we are having them back to do another session for a wider audience!

It was great learning sign language and meeting other deaf people also. It was also a good experience for me as well knowing I am a hard of hearing/half deaf person myself : ) : )

I found this a really lovely centre to do my next set of sign language qualifications. My teacher and everyone else working around the centre were always incredibly friendly and helpful. The facilities are great, and the administrative side of running the course was always very professional and organised. Highly recommend!

Great adapted session from the Remark team at our offices for BSL basics and handy workplace phrases for use when communicating with a deaf colleague. The session was fun and informative - highly recommended!

The teachers are so creative, caring, energetic and supportive. I had a great experience with BSL Level 1, would definitely recommend.

The Remark team and the BSL interpreter Sumayya Si Tayyeb were a joy to work with. They responded to my queries quickly, were kind and very helpful.

Sumayya was great to work with, she joined the call ahead of time to go through logistics. Worked with our deaf colleague really well and was very engaging with our colleagues on our staff call. I would definitely recommend this company and Sumayya!
