I contacted the company with a query regarding spare keys for existing doors for which I had had great difficulty getting cut accurately. They were extremely prompt and helpful with their response and were able to sort out my problem perfectly.

MLO installations have just been to do maintenance on 4 of our windows.
They were on time, very quick and efficient and windows functioning really well, probably better than ever

We installed Rationel windows into our home through a local installer. Given the location of our home we also paid extra for high salt permeable paint. Disappointingly we have noticed fading on all windows. Dovista have explained this as usual fading but we dispute this and feel given the value of the product quality issues of this nature should not be occurring within 5 years of installation. We have found Dovista to be less than helpful with this issue but recognised that the issue was present as they resprayed one door. This has noweft us with one door a different colour to all others. For us Rationel windows are sold as a expensive but high performing product but the reality is they are not worth the money.

As I planned to invest a significant amount of money (£30k+) in my property to replace the windows and doors I searched for a reputable company in the expectation it would be a quality product. After selecting Rationel, I noticed a crack at the edge of the door glazing unit after fitting and contacted them through their retailer. Imagine my dismay when I discovered I had purchased a Worthless Weasel Word Warranty: Rationel’s response:
“the crack in your glazing is not product defect and therefore not deemed to be a valid warranty claim. As per section 2 of our warranty terms and conditions:This Warranty only covers that DOVISTA UK double or triple glazed units shall remain free of particles of dust or of humidity in the unit cavity for ten (10) years in the case of windows, patio doors, sliding doors and casement doors and five (5) years in the case of flush and glazed entrance doors.Therefore any replacement glazing will be chargeable.”
To translate: if Rational supply cracked windows, the Warranty you paid for is worthless but you can pay them for another. It seems the economic downturn we find ourselves in has converted this one-time reputable company which previously backed their products with a solid Warranty (see other reviews to confirm this), into a company that can no longer be trusted. Use at your own risk.

I reached out to Rationel and was quickly directed to a local supplier named Goose Joinery. They provided a quote within 24 hours and scheduled a showroom visit for the next day. The showroom showcased a wide range of Rationel windows, and the team was incredibly helpful without being pushy. The doors I bought were delivered as promised, and the installers were courteous, tidy, and took the time to explain how everything worked before leaving. Definitely deserving of 5 stars!

Lesley, listened, helped me to get the info she needed and then provided the most efficient service. The parts are on their way. We installed Rationel Domus timber windows, patio doors and front door (22 items in total) throughout our house 15 years ago and they've been brilliant. Look fantastic, thermally really effective on a 170 year old property, and acoustically really great too. We haven't yet needed to decorate the main frames after all this time, only the sills, due to the factory finish.
They windows receive lots of compliments from the villagers too and the house is known locally as 'the one with the lovely windows'!

Our Rationel Formaplus guided casement Windows and entrance door were installed by Goose Joinery of Carterton, West Oxfordshire.
We were very pleased and impressed by the service from start to finish, and with the quality, functionality and appearance of the newly installed windows and door.
Our listed building has been transformed in terms of exterior appearance, internal noise reduction and heat retention by the Rationel products.
We were greatly assisted by Bob and his staff in liaising with the Council planning officer for relevant consents, the installation was prompt and professional, and various access issues to the property were overcome by the installers.
Throughout,we were kept informed of the progress of our order, and the entire project was completed in good time.
Would definitely recommend Rational products and Goose joinery.

I am deeply unimpressed by Rationel customer service here-or more accurately whether they want to have more of my money in exchange for spare parts. I have received no direct reply to two different contacts regarding spare parts I need. I cannot open my front door, despite the installer trying for over an hour and haven't been able to for over 3 weeks now. The lock has failed (the metal has sherred) and it has been over a week since they handed on the contact to the third party who installed the doors to sort out. Putting complaints online seems to work but is a rather unusual way of handling things. One would have thought sorting issues out privately would be better for your brand.
We recently had a window re-sealed by MLO Installations, a Rationel partner. The work was carried out very promptly and neatly and we are confident that the fault has been completely cured.
MLO installations came out to repair my window and it was a fantastic service.
This is the second time We have dealt with Miles the 1st time was through manufacturers warranty work and second time was for an insurance claim and he has always been very professional helpful and he and the lad’s area pleasure to have around
We had Rationel widows specified for our new build in 2016. From the outset, water appeared on the inside. They sent out an engineer twice and eventually replaced one of the 8 large courtyard windows. The issue of water appearing on the inside never went away, and despite regular internal and external painting with the factory supplied paint, rot is now apparent at the base of 5 of the windows - this is from the inside not the outside! We are now faced with either a tricky repair (if possible) or replacing all of the windows / sliding doors (13m by ~2m worth) at considerable cost. If asked, I would recommend staying well clear of Rationel - their 5y warranty on wood windows is a clear indication of the little trust they have in their own product.

There was some water ingress between a double glazed glass window pane 5.5 years after installation. The After Sales team verified the problem and ordered a replacement glass under warranty within days of being notified of the issue. A quality after sales service from a quality manufacturer of windows!

We purchased a new house which was installed with triple glazed doors and windows. Not long after moving in the front door was leaking very badly and the water had to be mopped up with towels.
The house builder contacted the company and after visits a new front door was installed in July 2021.
The front door is now leaking again badly so I contacted the company under the warranty.
They are refusing to send a service engineer to assess the issue saying the front door needs adjusting every year (they say its in their user guide) despite the door (to me) looking equi-distant in the frame. I'm not a door specialist so why would I adjust a door and possibly make it even worse?
Now they want me to pay £420 (inc VAT) to get a service engineer out to see if it is a warranty issue and if it is I will get a refund!
Every time I contact them they want photographs of the frame numbers, leaks and of the issue. This has been going on for a fortnight and the water ingress continues staining the floor and soaking into the wooden skirting.
Basically, we are being held to ransome and they are washing their hands of the matter. Their warranty is almost worthless! It's left us frustrated and annoyed. You never know how good a company is until you need customer service and on that basis Rationel, Dovista and Velfac have let us down badly.
Update......
I am in touch with the company and after sending out a technician who replaced a seal and did a full examination and report.
The leak is still present during very heavy rain.
The customer services manager has offered to send a specialist to try and establish exactly why the door is leaking during severe rains. I have replied I will be pleased for this examination and await a date.

We had an issue with a product purchased four years ago. When we contacted the company they were amazing. Swift, helpful, honourable. They are extremely efficient to deal with. Great products, great after care. So glad we chose a reputable classy company in the first place.

I recently installed over £40k of new, aluminium flashed Rationel windows and doors on a substantial new build house. The timber finish of all the units was poor, with machine marks and noticable joints in the window and door frames, where inexpensive timber has been laminated together. Not impressed for the extraordinary cost of the products. Maybe a dark paint choice would hide this better.. Additionally, some of the windows were not supplied square. Meaning one side of the window cases were longer than the other; not by much, and not noticable without a tape measure, but not I would expect at the price point. The doors all have stickers peeling off from their tops, which were simply painted over in the factory. Not really noticable, but there is exposed, untreated timber for the elements to get into if not repainted at customers additional expense. Final negative point was that most of the windows and one door were poorly adjusted from factory. The one door scuffed the threshold plate before were were able to lift the door and adjust peoperly once installed. My reason for giving two stars, instead of one, is the quality of the hardware, and door furniture, which really is excellent. Just a pitty it's installed on poorly built products.
