DONT BUY FROM RANGE USA unless you want your time wasted and want to be disrespected.
DONT BUY FROM RANGE USA unless you want your time wasted and want to be disrespected.
I purchased 2 guns, from two different dealers, both online, one from an out of state dealer and one from range usa in il, the state in which I reside. Guns are regulated by both the state and the federal government and when a gun is bought from out of state it cannot be sent to the buyer but rather has to be sent to a person that is licensed by the federal government to run back ground checks and get verification of the submitted credentials before delivering the weapon.
When the weapon from out of state that I purchased was delivered to to the Federal transfer agent, I contacted him by email and he instructed me to send him the necessary credentials so he could run a background check that he knew could take up to 72 hours to verify. 3 days after sending him the images of credentials I was instructed to come, show my credentials, fill out the additional paper work and pick up the weapon. I did so and it took less than 15 minutes, and one trip.
Randge usa after receiving my online order, sent an email 24 hours later to me saying the gun was ready for pickup. I live over 25 miles from range usa. I know that in il, there is a 72 hour waiting period between purchasing a weapon and possessing it, so I emailed range usa and asked if there was a 72 hour waiting period, thier response was "You live in IL. You need to wait 72 hours." No matter where you live, when you buy a gun in Il the 72 hour rule is in effect. So why is range usa telling me to come and get the weapon after only 24 hours? And once they know that I am going to come in to pick up the weapon, why don't they ask for images of credentials that will expedite the matter for the purchase?
After the 72 hour period was up I went to pick up the weapon, I was there an hour filling out their paper work and submitting my credentials, and then I was told I had to come back because they were waiting for the state to verify my idendity. This could have been done prior to my coming into the store and I know that because I had just done it with another transfer agent. So they wasted my time uncecessarily by having me drive a fifty mile round trip, but wait there is more.
When I returned 3 days later to pick up the gun after being sent an email by range usa to come, it took an hour and fifteen minutes for me to leave. They made me late for a previous appointment which I was forced to reschedule. They made me late by holding my drivers liscense, other wise I would have left, I repeat, otherwise I would have left. After being there watching them engage in total ineptness for fifty minutes I told them, I had to leave, that I would pick up the gun another day and to give me my drivers liscense so that I could leave and they refused. With my license in their hand they refused to hand them over allowing me to leave for a full 20 minutes after I insisted they return them, essentially unlawfully detaining me. And then they gave me the sarcastic "you have a nice day" comment after all but abscounding my drivers liscense and firearms owner identification card.
range usa has no regard for it's customer's time and are willing to break the law by strapping on a 9mm glock and refusing to release property that does not belong to them.
Plus they are inept, first they couldn't find the gun and kept asking me if I had filled out the paper work, 3 times they asked, then when they finally found it they struggled to re-fill out the paper work, I guess they misplaced. They were like stooges, only with guns. An hour and fifteen minutes to do something that had already been done. Inept completely.
Don't buy from range usa unless you want your time wasted and want to be disrespected and bullied.
web site
i went to cancle my membership and it was a nightmare.the website would not let me create a account, so i could access my info, in the end i had to call the call center in ohio which was not on the help page. had to rearch for the phone #
Deceptive and poorly run
Not going to list them all, but I have consistently had issues with this company from deceptive pricing and promotions to mismanagement at the local level.
No room at lane table
I understand not allowing the customer to load firearms at the back table behind the lane, but if you're going to have that rule, you should have adequate space at the lane shooting table for several firearms, including an AR and perhaps just slightly bigger lanes. And having the rule that you can't even load your mouth magazines at the back table with no firearms around you. Time wasting money, grab ploy. The range attendant sure is on top of making sure none of that happens, He certainly could tell the difference between a firearm and a magazine reload. Make the lane bigger with more adequate table room and shelves below to house extra firearms, and and I'll be back.
Email is not my identity and it’s an invasion of privacy
Stockton to purchase a new firearm. I am a legal purchaser. I started to fill out the paperwork and where it asks for your email and phone number I filled in the phone number and it says email optional, so I did not give it. Short guy with the beard that used to be the staff of point blank told me he has to have a second contact number or he would not sell me the firearm. I said it was optional right on the paperwork so he refused to sell me the firearm. The other females staff pointed out to him that it was optional on the form, and he still refuse to sell me the firearm. This is the same guy that used to work at point blank when I brought in a new used firearm to trade in. He’s slam my slide forward with the release with no ammo and dry. No respect for my firearm. I figured I would give this place another try under the new ownership and cannot believe that they can refuse to sell me a firearm for not giving my email. This has nothing to do with my identity. I will never do business with this place again, and I will do my best to spread the word. There is another small shop in Mentor with excellent customer service with better prices that doesn’t share your personal information.
Bought my first handgun
I had an extremely thorough private lesson for a new gun owner at the Cincinnati Round Bottom Road location. Bill S. was very careful to proceed at my pace, answer questions, address misconceptions and coach me on the range. It a little stressful buying your first handgun. Bill made it easy. Great facility…they had a separate training range where we worked 1 on 1.
I'll never go to a Range USA again.
I'll never go to a Range USA again. The customer service at Range USA, Arlington, Texas is always just adequate to lousy. Often I've had to wait for the only employee assigning lanes to try to sell someone a membership. Other employees nearby and doing nothing seldom come over to help. Today the person assigning lanes was flat out rude. I walked up to him and he ignored me, just continuing to look at his monitor. I started to say "I'll need . . . and he curtly cut me off with two words: "driver's license," with out looking up. I walked off immediately and will never go back. I will not miss their lousy customer service (and their lousy annual range maintenance fee).
I purchased a private lesson se for…
I purchased a private lesson se for session Friday. It was for my daughter who is leaving for the Army. wanted to get some familiarity to certain types of long guns. Found out on Thursday that she would not be able to make it back in time. Spoke with a rep around 11am on Thursday the same week of the session. We spoke about 15mins about the Friday scheduled appointment. I wanted to reschedule for the next Friday. I was unable to, so I decided i would bring my wife. My daughter ended being free to make it. We went only for them to say hey this appointment was for yesterday, "Thursday". I explained the situation and that I had spoken to a rep on Thursday who didn't mention that the appointment was for that day. Now they said I can not have my money back "$150" and I would have to rescheduled and pay for the new appointment. I think this is unfair. can easily be resolved with a new appointment at no cost or just refund the money back. They are not customers friendly, not good business partners, not a good neighborhood business.
I would not recommend their services to anyone. I have spoke with friends and co-worker at other gun shops and gun clubs. they have never heard of anything like this.
Easily correctable!! but very shameful.
Good local, awful corporate experience
On site was amazing, but I contacted corporate about a billing question -- not even a dispute, after spending $92 an hr. Their response was that I was wrong, prices are posted and I just must have missed it. While not written, I got the feeling they were saying "you're wrong and we don't care if you return."
Don’t go here
Don’t go here! Stupidest range in country. They allowing 12 gauge shotgun slug shooting in the pistol area! How stupid. 10!times worse than a 44 mag? My booth walls shook and smoke everywhere. Belongs in a rifle area or outside. Dahhh. Talked to the manager, he could care less. I asked him to come in the range, in the booth next to the dumb ass shooting a shotgun, and try to hit your target! He chuckled. Stupid rules in a stupid range. Go anywhere else, my son and I will never go back…the needs of one, do not outweigh the needs of the many. You shoot a shotgun at a skeet range or outside or at a range dedicated to rifles in a separate area.
Con USA
They signed me up for a membership that I did not want. When I realized the bad credit card charge I called in and was treated horribly on the phone. Do not go to this con job of a business! Careful what you sign in this place they will slide things in and then refuse to remove it. Made me log in their website to cancel a membership I didn’t want. Staff is incompetent. Company has horrible customer service.
*COMPANY WILL NOT HONOR THEIR PRICES*
*COMPANY WILL NOT HONOR THEIR PRICES*
I ordered a firearm online for a posted sales price. My card was charged and I was able to check out perfectly fine. I even got an email saying the firearm is ready for pickup.
When I went to pick up the item, the employees told me the wrong item was sent. I asked the employees if I would still receive the same firearm, they said that I would, they just need to contact the distributor to get the right one. I emailed customer service after, the customer service responded saying the same thing. That I would receive it, after they contact the distributor and get the right one sent.
The next day I got an email saying the order was cancelled. After a few emails with their customer service, they ADMITTED it was the wrong price and that's why it's cancelled. They tried to say that the distributor added the wrong SKU or something.
However, I have two screenshots that show, the SKU, UPC, Model, Description and Picture are EXACTLY the same.
A company that can't live up to their advertisements does NOT earn any respect from me, and shouldn't from anyone else either. They offered NOTHING to make it right.
***Reply to their responses…
I was correct, they tried to say the description was wrong, my screenshots prove that is a lie. They also said the wrong firearm was shipped and i would receive the firearm I ordered. Another lie. Everything is the same except the price. They did not confuse the firearm. The price was a mistake. That's fine. Own up to your mistake. If your company makes a mistake, don't punish the customer. That's bad customer service.
They said said that they don't process orders that contain mistakes. That is also a lie. My item was processed, shipped, and I got an email that my item was ready for pickup. I took time out of my day, wasted my gas money and drove there to pick it up. Only for them to lie to me again. I know for a fact that the clerks knew it was a mistake, because of their whispering and faces. They assured me I would get the item I ordered. Again, a lie. I have screenshots showing the item was processed, shipped and received by the store.
If a company is willing to lose a customer for life because of their mistake, it's clear that company does not respect their customers.
Great Service and Experience
I recently ordered a very "high demand" rifle through them and saved at least $300-$400 over the average price found elsewhere. Their customer service reps were amazing: helpful, knowledgeable, and courteous (when I called about order status). Note that I did have to look up their corporate number via the web, as they don't post it on their website. Overall, I was extremely pleased with the order.
Private Lesson - Range USA Webster
I had a private lesson with Ronnie Villareal at the Range USA in Webster TX. I had taken an introduction to defensive shooting with him earlier, and wanted to expand on both fundamentals and more advanced defensive techniques. The training was GREAT! Ronnie helped me with defensive shooting, trigger reset and got me more comfortable with close up shooting on a defensive basis, more than my usual target shooting. I've gone to the range and incorporated the drills he showed me, in addition to a lot of dry fire techniques to enhance muscle memory actions - needed for rapid ad accurate response in a defensive shooting event. This is the first time I've taken a private lesson anywhere, and I highly recommend it - Ronnie is willing to work on any area of shooting you need and is a wonderful trainer! Thanks Ronnie for helping improve my shooting!
Unfair Treatment and Denial of Rights at RangeUSA
I'm writing this review with a heavy heart, as I have been a loyal patron of RangeUSA for years. However, my recent experiences at their Southgate location have left me deeply disappointed and concerned about their business practices.
Firstly, I encountered what I believe to be racially motivated incidents, which included delayed background checks and invasive personal inquiries. This alone was enough to make me reconsider my patronage.
But what truly crossed the line was RangeUSA's refusal to initiate a new background check after 30 days, a policy clearly stated on the ATF's website. This, in my opinion, is an active prevention of my Second Amendment rights, which is unacceptable.
Transparency, fairness, and respect for constitutional rights should form the backbone of any business, especially one dealing with firearms. Unfortunately, it seems like RangeUSA falls short in upholding these principles. I am left with no choice but to boycott their services until they address these issues and treat all customers equally and fairly. If being black is good enough for the ATF, it should be good enough for RangeUSA. I am filing a complaint reporting RangeUSA to the ATF for not complying with Federal Law which grants the right for a background check to be resubmitted after a delay and creating store rules that allow them to discriminate.
I urge potential customers to think twice before supporting a business that seemingly disregards their customers' rights and treats them differently based on race. There are plenty of other firearm retailers who respect and uphold the principles of fairness, transparency, and constitutional rights.
UPDATE:
I received an email today from Range USA saying that it is up to their discretion to follow the rules on the ATF’s website to choose who they would like to resubmit background checks for after there is a delay. Which translates into they have the power to select which Americans they want to allow their 2nd Amendment rights.
Range USA was a great experience.
My husband and I had a private lesson with Mario LeDuc (Webster, TX) and we both really enjoyed it! We're seniors and Mario was so knowledgeable and patient. He taught us both so much about our own handguns. We are planning our next range visit soon. I highly recommend Mario and Range USA!
Local locations might be good but…
Local locations might be good but ordering anything other than a gun online is a joke, placed one order got an email 2 days later saying it shipped to store but didn't show up for another 5 days, then ordered again for my nephew a magpul grip and he decided he was just going to get one at store I went to cancel there is no way to cancel in my account so emailed support and they said as soon as I placed order its in process and cannot be canceled without paying a 25% restock fee but it was only 6 hrs since I had placed the order and it takes minimum 7-10 business per a customer service reps email so hard to understand how it takes 7-10 days other than sticking it to the customer. Company is a joke and no care for customers done doing business with them I will give my business to local shops.
ATTN WOMEN
ATTN WOMEN: Run, don’t walk from this place! We are a group of women who are serious gun owners. We went to the Clinton Twp location and was harassed by the range master continually. He was not harassing any of the male shooters only our group of 4 women. It was so bad we didn’t complete our time on the range and just left. Never before has a range master been so unprofessional and mean spirited.
Private lesson with Rayth
Private lesson with Rayth, in Mishawaka, for a first gun owner. Wow! He was patient, extremely knowledgeable, easy to follow. He absolutely made it fun. I'm signed up again!
