I recently started my own Tax Preparation Service Business. After much research on 01/28/2025 I purchased a subscription. I needed to get some W2 and 1099 filed for a couple of clients. To this date 03/07/2025 I have not received any verification of the e-files being with SSA.
This business is located in California and that should have been my first clue. I would NOT recommend the use of this business. They talk a good game but are short on or do not deliver.
They are lacking in customer service and follow up, and they will not respond to emails. My experience the phone service you will have you waiting 5 to 10 minutes before you can speak to a human.
AVOID this bunch of yahoos.

I started using Protaxpro 2011. It is the best tax software I have ever used. I use it every year since then for my tax filing services.

I recently started my tax business and went to Protaxpro for help. The truth is that the experience so far has been very good, especially because I have been helped by Melissa, who has been very patient and has helped me a lot. The truth is that it is being a very good experience.

How do I export my clients information? I recently switched software and the reports options to download as csv does not have the actual tax information for the clients. When I try to upload the csv report it says no tax information.

Absolutely amazing service. The new look for the software is streamlined and easy to use. I know whenever I have an issue I will be given top notch support from a dedicated team of professionals. Fileyourtaxes is an incredible customer focused company and could not ask more from them.

- when a form issuers address requires an update information is not saved for the next use.
- when are you going to support direct imports of W2, 1099 information?
- When entering PA state income on a W2 the amount is usually higher than the federal withholding. This always prompts user to validate. Unnecessary.
- Drop-downs:
Get rid of Palau as a state entry.
Sort clients alphabetically at startup versus by
date.
- Mouse over at bottom of input screens (advertising)
very annoying.
- Can't use periods when entering an address
- add more detail to client information spreadsheets (DOB), SSN, filing status, etc.)
- Carry over routing and bank information from prior years.
- Carry over identification information from prior
years, flag if it has expired.

I have been using your services for some years and I would like to see some additional tools added to the software. Like searching for the forms to add the someone taxes.

The 1040 pay per return version is fairly priced.
I wasn’t expecting a robust program, but, Surprisingly, it doesn’t offer the 1040 ES vouchers for the following year.
Seems like an easy form to generate, as opposed to the user having to go to the IRS website.
