No safeguarding checks — children were allowed in without verification and left without guidance or structure. The coach provided no real coaching and instead made a humiliating and inappropriate comment towards my son in front of others.

I submitted a formal complaint which was ignored, yet received a generic “positive feedback” email the next day that did not reflect reality at all.

Serious concerns about safeguarding and professionalism. Would not recommend.

Went to a trial session, not very impressed, loads of kids, not enough staff, kids couldn’t hear what they were being asked to do, and instruction was poor, no correction instructions given when kids were getting things wrong. One child got hurt in a tackle during a mini game but the coaches were too busy talking to each other to notice.
I then received multiple emails, texts and finally a call asking if I wanted to sign up, offered discounts, free kit, all very sales oriented. Works out at about £15 a session, if you get to all of them, which we never would, if you manage 40 sessions a year that’s £17:50 a session. Join your local football team and get the same training for a fraction of the cost, use YouTube and take your kid to the park to practice, you don’t need these lot in your life. Avoid.

Commercially agressive to sign up, expensive cost in comparison to other clubs, average football training and make it difficult to cancel, despite being in the 14 cooling off period.

Awful. 10 children to one "coach" being looked after by teenagers who wear earphones. No skills being taught and children just running wild kicking balls against the wall. Complete money making venue.

This people are the more irresponsible, rude, they don’t care at all about the customers or kids ! It’s all about money . After almost a year my son practiced in this academy quite ok because he love football despite we wasn’t too happy because the trainings are exactly the same , no improvement, no matches no motivation at all , when Winter weather started I just wanted to pause the membership and cancel it for couple of months , when I wanted to do this , nobody pick up the phone , nobody called me just by messages , same day I requested this “by message “ because I couldn’t find any another way, I received a info from my bank account where this people charged me 50£ in a day where is not even my agreement monthly payment day , nothing just because I requested this , no info no notice no call no one care , disgusting treatment , terrible after a year , bring more kids to them , it’s absolutely unacceptable , they took with no permission or notice or anything 50£ from my account. I’m looking forward to see what I will do with my solicitor because this is completely illegal . I’ll make sure in all social media and in all places possible to tell everyone about this treatment for everyone avoid this place . Until today I’m still waiting for someone give an explanation about this.

Went to view the Northampton session a week before we started.

Crowd control at its worst. Throw kids into a free for all match. Kids putting out cones. No direction, horrible tone from the coaches.

I think this academy is all about making money and not teaching kids football and tactics
Every time I was attending my son session I have only seen a crowd of kids whenever the ball was no position on field no tactics
No passing mind sets

No placing kids on the pitch due to what a coach will see the player is better for

To be honest he was better trained on his school session where I thought will be some mediocre learning comparing to a “Pro Football Academy”

Waste of money

The coaches show up there just to get their money into their pockets and that’s it

I know no all the kids are made for sports and football but is a shame that you are crushing some kids dreams for money

My son attended a free trial session with his local academy. Upon arrival the coach said what’s your name. Ok, over there. Then waved him onto the pitch. No introduction. Only two coaches for 18 kids but one coach was just joining in the football and messing about with the kids. The other coach was playing football also. Not at any point did the kids receive any ‘coaching’ or guidance. No drills. Just unstructured games. Coach or kids never spoke to my son once or said goodbye either. Very poor. I’d be fuming if I paid for this monthly. The quality of coaching is the worst I’ve seen. I don’t think they have the right to call themselves ‘pro’ or an academy. Neither are an accurate representation of what they advertise on the internet!

We attended a “free professional football trial class” after seeing their highly polished Instagram ad showing happy, confident children coached by emotionally intelligent trainers. Unfortunately, the real experience was the complete opposite.

First, there was no clear information about which ground to go to — despite multiple reminders asking us to confirm attendance. At the venue reception, there was no greeting or guidance, just a dismissive “try 8 or 9.”

When we finally found the right ground, my friend’s excited twins went to the gate and waved at the coach to confirm they were in the right place. Instead of a warm welcome, the coach shouted at the child, “Can’t you see we are playing? How did you come in?” The field was overcrowded (40+ kids to one coach) and completely unmonitored.

After an hour-long session where the coach barely interacted with the kids, my friend politely asked how his child performed. In front of 20+ kids and parents, the coach responded rudely, saying the child had a “behaviour problem” and “doesn’t listen,” and declared that he was rejected, i wont accept him — all because he had entered the gate earlier in excitement.

This was humiliating and deeply upsetting for the child, whose confidence was completely shattered. The coach’s tone was arrogant and unprofessional — far from the emotionally intelligent mentors shown in their ads.

If the organisation truly believes in building children’s confidence, they should train their staff properly, ensure DBS checks, and never allow a coach to shame a child publicly. The Instagram video is highly misleading, and if parents saw the reality of how children are treated, no one would sign up.

Parents — please be cautious before booking. A “trial class” should build confidence, not destroy it.

Attended 1st trial session last night 10th Feb down at power league Nottingham NG7 one.
We left 20 minutes in the coaches were not interested at all not engaging with the kids just put them into a match straight away. The coaches are trying to show the players how to do simple ball mastery skills and can’t do them themselves. Didn’t get the kids engaged at all wasn’t fun for them at all very poor !!

My son attended a trial session, but the experience was not good at all , The coaches arrived ten minutes late, there was no welcome or introduction, and the children largely played football by themselves. Like a casual street football , unfortunately One of the coaches spent the entire session walking around with a coffee Overall and it is so unprofesional , completely unprofessional, and both the coaching and learning environment were very poor.

I should have read the reviews before wasting my time at this place.
Took my son for a trial session, nobody to greet you as stated so had to find our own way to the pitch and then find a staff member ourselves. There was one coach to around 30 kids, he just sent them all off to play football amongst themselves, I told him we there for a trial and he just said "you'll receive an email after the session", that was the only interaction me or my son had with any staff member throughout the whole session.
So off my son goes to follow the other kids and joins in playing football amongst themselves for the majority of the session. At one point they were told to lay cones out and dribble the ball between them but nobody was even watching them, nobody telling them the best way to go about it, where they were going right or wrong, no encouragement, no coaching, absolutely nothing other than a bunch of kids having an unsupervised kick about...which you can do without paying £58 a month.
Never did receive an email from them either, so even if I wanted to sign up to this money grabbing scam I'd have more hassle trying to do so with the lack of communication from them.
Thankfully I didn't fall in to the trap of setting up a direct debit and getting scammed like a lot of the other reviews.

My son attended 3 sessions and started to doubt that this was the right place for him to learn and achieve more skills in football. 2 out of 3 lessons (he missed 1 session) where there wasn’t adequate coaching due to only being 1 coach there which happens, I understand. His intro lesson wasn’t exactly a breeze no idea where we had to go, we were told that someone would meet us at the reception but when we arrived we were just told to go out to the pitches. There was no introduction and my son just felt a spare part with no introduction just thrown in hoping he knew what to do. My son decided he didn’t want to go back due to team members lack of communication or team work( apparently this academy is for one on one work by the email the coach responded back to me when I said I wanted to cancel the membership, how is it one on one??) He was hoping this will be more of team work, communication and being part of a team etc which football should be about and unfortunately hasn’t been.
The online syllabus was completely different to what they were teaching, it was more free play and not one skill was taught as it was just constant little football matches of 10-30 children being monitored by 1 coach. My son got more out of playing on our field by our house with his friends than the lessons from this place. Just shows how professional they are not is the when I emailed them stating my concerns, no correspondence from them at all until I cancelled the membership. that I got a response from the coach saying it one on one coaching (SERIOUSLY??!) and he’ll look into why there’s only 1 coach. Couldn’t teach 10-30 children one on one with just one coach. Wha annoyed me the most was that I spent £120 on this academy as my son refused to go back and when cancelled had to pay for the upcoming month even though what I was paying for wasn’t what was taught. AVOID THIS ACADEMY, You’d be Paying out for a membership that your child can do on the field or park near you without the £55 invoice a month.

Poor safeguarding for children – completely unacceptable.
On multiple occasions there were between 22–30 children on a pitch with just one coach, which is a serious safeguarding failure. Coaching was also inconsistent, with different coaches appearing and no continuity.
My child gained nothing from these sessions. Communication from staff was unprofessional and dismissive, with concerns repeatedly fobbed off via email.
I am also still waiting for my refund, which only adds to this extremely poor experience from start to Finnish.

Poor communication and disrespect from customers services. Demanding & bombard payment. All they care about is money not personal aspects of individuals lives. No empathy at all.

I am very disappointed with Pro Football Academy. Despite notifying a coach seven weeks ago that my child would no longer attend, they continued to charge my subscription without proper confirmation or cancellation. Their official policy requires a 30-day notice through their website, but this was never clearly communicated when we signed up. Multiple customers have reported similar issues, suggesting a pattern of taking payments even when children stop attending.

This feels misleading and unfair, and I would caution parents to read the fine print carefully before committing. In my experience, the process for cancellation is confusing and seems designed to keep charging fees unnecessarily.

There are so many kids and only two coaches. Definitely more than 30 children, and it still costs £55 per month. It’s a terrible place to send your kids. It’s not real football training — it’s just loads of balls and nearly 50 kids crammed into a small pitch at Goals.

My daughter has attended 3 out off 4 session. Very unorganised no one tells you nothing. Have downloaded the app to give you stats on how well she is doing. But notice cause no one signed her in she has only attended 1 session out off 3 so nobody has bothered to sign her in twice. We attended session today. Session was stopped halfway through it so he could sign everyone in. And while he was signing in he threatened if they don't sign in you get fined £50 and they need to tell parents.
On top off this they was also told if they are late you will also get fined £50 and the player will not participate in session. Not good if you are travelling 45mins away during rush hour time. After hearing all this I will taking my daughter to anymore session and I definitely not be giving them anymore money as that is all pfa are after at the end off the day.
