Highly recommended and worth the money
I decided to have private blood tests done due to feeling tired all the time, and generally feeling under the weather. Booking the test was easy and straightforward, and I was given a time slot in a short period of time, at a time that was convenient. The blood test itself was easy and the medical staff very pleasant. I was expecting the results to be with me around 2 weeks after the blood sample was taken, but I was pleasantly surprised to receive them within a week. I opted to have the Dr's comments upon my results, which I found to be extremely helpful. The results themselves were easy to understand, and showed clearly whether my scores were below, above or on target. I would definitely recommend anyone who wishes to have private blood tests done, to use this company, and I will be looking to have my test repeated in 6 months, to see whether anything has changed.

Really good service
Really good service, however the appointment booking part was a little confusing. It asks you to select a date & time (which is pointless), as you also have to call the relevant hospital to book.

Good but not perfect
Very straightforward dealing with Blue Horizon and would recommend. Unfortunately, the hospital taking the blood appeared completely lost as to how to process the private blood test which made the process a little nerve-wracking. But we got there in the end and I suspect this is a Spire problem rather than a Blue Horizon issue.

Excellent private company for private blood tests
My GP only does the standard cholesterol blood test and I wanted to have a lipid profile blood test as it gives a whole detailed view about your cholesterol, HDL LDL etc. I found the private company on Google and was happy how both fast and easy it was to order the blood test. I was able to book the appointment with the phlebotomist Outpatients at The Spire Hospital Solihull. (Something you can never do at NHS Hospitals) The Spire Hospital staff could of been better though as they are private. They saw me almost 10 minutes late because they mixed my name up with another patient. Not ideal when you have been fasting over 12 hours. I attended with a family member. The phlebotomist said the room is quite small. I showed her my disabled access card which states I must have a plus 1 attend with me due to my invisible disabilities. She then said that is fine. I found the room bigger than my bathroom and you could easily fit 10 people in there. She then asked what current work role am I in. I was confused she pointed to my sunflower layard (the one that holds my disabled access card) I said it's my disabled access card. Maybe she hadn't had her morning coffee. She told me my results would take 7 days something else which wasn't true. I was quite shocked at the dizziness of the staff for a private setting. I received my results 2 days later. I was very happy at the speed of receiving my results and the Doctor who explained them. I would definitely use them again and highly recommend them. However Spire staff I believe should maybe attend a customer service refresher course. Good job the private blood tests provider actually pre-warn you not to give your payment details to Spire as they invoice the company. Be warned that Spire hand you a tablet to put your details in and they ask for your payment details on there. I didn't put mine but people could easily do it in error but please don't otherwise you will be billed twice.

The test itself was pretty straightforward. But the communication with customer service is lacking. No way to get immediate reply, no phone number, only email with replies taking even up to 2 days.

very satisfactory
Had a test on 28th June. I chased on 8th July, (before the turnaround date - for personal reasons) . I received a helpful response the same day. The following day I was again contacted, reassuring me of prompt service and how the process was progressing. Two days later and ahead of the standard turnaround date, I received the result. Very satisfied with the service.
