WOW, What sad little people these guys are, they did to a 95 year old women that was on BBC RIP off Britain are complete scumbags.
They demanded a deposit of half the fee for a job to remove a fireplace from my home. Then they just never turned up. Weeks later, when I asked for a refund, they refused. I'm now going after them legally.
If I could give a minus review I would. My parents have had trouble with this company since May 2025. The work still to this day
Remains incomplete and absolutely not worthy of the price. The work they have done is not fit for purpose.
Trying to contact them is impossible. Or they answer and say they will call back, someone will come out and assess the work. Still waiting. Absolutely terrible. Would not in a million years recommend.
Primestones seem to have a problem with communication – between their own members of staff, with their subcontractors and with their customers. I asked to cancel the contract after I became worried about just what was happening, and they finally agreed to cancel and to repay my deposit – but in 12 instalments.
I was cold-called in May by Primestone Homes who offered to rewire my house and came to do a survey at the beginning of June; the price was about what I was expecting although I thought the 50% deposit was a bit steep. I checked reviews on their website and they sounded good, but then little problems, like wanting to start before the electrician had done a survey, kept cropping up and it seemed to be a lack of communication; when I asked for more details on what to expect and what I needed to do before work started they couldn’t answer and said they would pass my questions on to the electrician. It became obvious they were using a sub-contractor (and charging me for the administration).
I had said during the initial survey that I couldn’t move any furniture on my own and they said that would all be taken care of, but no-one had contacted me about this before the date the electrician was due to start at the beginning of July. However, the afternoon before work was due to start I was moving belongings up into the attic out of the way of the dust that I was told would be created, when a sudden rainstorm caused a leak in the roof. Obviously, electrical work couldn’t take place if the attic was wet, and I didn’t want roof repairs going on at the same time as electrical work. I both rang and emailed Primestones to warn them that work had to be paused until the roof had been repaired, and whilst I didn’t expect anyone to reply on a Sunday evening, I did assume the messages would be picked up early Monday morning and passed on to the electrician (who I had no way of contacting directly). The electrician arrived at 9 o’clock and had to ring the office to find out what was happening, and Chloe at Primestones rang me at 11 in a cheerful voice to ask “how was I feeling?” and obviously didn’t know either what had happened.
Talking to the electrician he mentioned more of what would happen during the work, including breaking through the ceilings; as no mention had been made of this before I wanted to know who was responsible for replastering and redecorating (the initial survey notes from Primestones says “house will be back to normal” which is a bit vague); the electrician said he was only responsible for the electrical work. Primestones never replied to my emails sent the day before work was due to start, and never contacted me to ask how work on the roof was progressing and when they could start work. I emailed them on the 18th July listing my concerns over lack of communication and asking them to contact me and got a text from them repeating exactly the same the information they’d sent several weeks before which listed what the electrician expected before starting work, but didn’t answer the points in my email.
Eventually, in mid-September I was contacted by someone called Craig saying they would cancel the contract and asking for my bank details so they could repay my deposit – and proposing a payment plan over 12 months! Given that I paid a 50% deposit in one go, the offer to repay it in instalments over such a long time is insulting. Craig asked if there was a good time to discuss this and although my voice call went unanswered I sent a message suggesting a time and date when I would be in and received an answer saying that would be no problem. Since then I have had no contact from Primestones, either phone calls, voice mail or message.
Workers not turning up when arranged & phone number not being answered when you ring.
This firm has messed me around for months, putting off doing the job.
Primestone HOMES were contracted to paint living room and vestibule, they came didn't prep the woodwork and painted walls, ceiling and all woodwork in emulsion paint resulting in chips on woodwork after only approx 5 weeks. There are runs of blue paint into white paint, the paintwork is patchy, the cutting in is dire, and on door surrounds in vestibule they only painted to door height instead of all way up.They did the work in a day coming back next day to"finish door " The workmanship is disgraceful, they got paint on sofa floor, window, electric cables and on tv which they didn't remove from wall and painted around it,I've complained several times and sent template email from C.A.B,and trading standards said the address on the invoice I was given is fake they have given Primestone 28 days to provide a genuine address but nothing as yet, without an address we can't take them to a small claims court as without genuine address we can't serve papers. They're getting away with scamming people out of money so don't even think of getting them to do any work for you.
Absolute disgrace of a company. They have ripped off my elderly parents and done the worse job we have ever seen ( we have photos and they have admitted it !) Fobbed off and ignored ever since. Helen Smith continues to lie to us that it will be redone after they admitted it was a terrible job yet every date we have been given, nobody turns up ! When you call to ask why they make up rubbish excuses and lies. Avoid them! It’s unbelievable that they get away with this. We will be taking legal action and if anyone else wants to please get in touch in order to work together!
Someone called asking about work via a government grant for house inprovement. Only work I wanted at the time was a replacement rollup garage door to be fitted. A date was given for the work. this came and nobody arrived. A person answered my call telling me the surveyor had let them down and another date was given. A man did come to measure up and then went away. I heard nothing so another phone call was had. Alltogether three people have been to survey the work, and still I wait. When I telephone if I don't get cut off then the person will give another date to delay the work being done.
I also asked about a garden dividing wall to be rebuilt, with a discount because of the garage door. This is also an ongoing thing that is not being done.
Just read your review on Primestone Homes and you have my full sympathy. I am in the process of getting my £580 deposit returned and I have given them notice that unless all outstanding monies are returned to my bank account by noon today (Tuesday 29th July) I will be commencing legal proceedings The managing director is Aamir Javed and the contract address is

Helen (Ellen) Smith from accounts is the person whom I have been corresponding with but she will just stall, delay, and prevaricate to avoid paying back your money. Good luck
To update from the review I gave in June, I've been in touch with Citizens Advice Bureau and they have referred Primestone Homes to Trading Standards. I used CAB template letter threatening court action. Letter sent tracked seems to have been undeliverable which raises concerns about if they actually have a head office (let alone the regional branches around the country listed on their publicity leaflets) They have responded to my email which had a copy of the letter attached, but not actually made any moves to either complete the work, or refund me. I'll be going back to Trading Standards to see how you can serve court proceedings where there is no address to send the relevant papers. If no stars was an option they would deserve that. DO NOT USE THIS FIRM. After referring them to Companies House re the virtual office address and reiterating small claims court action on dozens of emails and phone calls, I finally succeeded in getting a refund of 75% of the agreed price at the end of August. I resent the time and stress and continue to warn potential customers to go elsewhere for building work. I can't upgrade from 1 star because of the shoddy service received in recompensing me for their ineptitude.
Nothing but scamming criminals behind the guise of a legitimate building company. They target the elderly, steal their money and make false promises.
Please do not be taken in - warn others.
I commissioned this company in December 2024 to jet wash my block paving driveway, re-sand and seal. One operative came to do the job and did it in one day. The result was a disaster. I complained and they came back in March 2025 after three cancellations. The driveway was re-washed and looked satisfactory. Instead of block paving sand, a dry mixture of sand and cement was brushed in. When it rained, this mixture set all over the block paving leaving an unsightly mess which turns out to be irreparable. I am currently waiting for a response to a Consumer Rights Act letter asking that they replace the driveway.
I am very pleased with Prime Stone Homes! They have completed all my plastering and painting work around the house at a excellent price point. Happy Customer and will definitely be getting more work in the future!
They are the worst company I have ever seen ,they have given me 3 dates to come and fit some wardrobes and cancelled them all on the last minute. I gave them £12oo and now I can't get my money bk.am weighting this for others to see so they don't get scamed as I did
