This is a follow-up to my previous one-star review: this company continues to be a complete scam. While they did eventually agree to issue a refund, despite numerous emails, I have neither received it nor heard from them in the past three months. I've tried calling the numbers I was given, and at least two of them forward to other companies.

In addition, I tried their so-called chat help line and was promised a call back that never happened. Perhaps they are out of business. Perhaps they are understaffed and floundering. Or perhaps they are simply an outright scam.

Either way, stay far, far away from this business.

EDIT as of 4/10/26: They seem to have performed a classic bait and switch with their refund policy. The reps that I worked with said it was a 100% guarantee full refund, at any time, no questions asked. I have that in writing, and that is what I was offered on 1/2/2026.

However, now the accounting specialist is referring to a different refund policy (which I'd never seen until this week) that only offers me 28% because of the length of time it has been since the project started. She says they are being generous because work had been done and I am beyond their 120 days. Most of that time was taken up with nobody getting back to me, and it has not been 120 days since I requested or was granted the refund. Basically, they are refusing to honor the refund policy I was given and refusing to honor what their own employees had promised.

Premium Book Consultants also handled fiction ghostwriting and article writings services for us. Both were engaging, original, and professionally written. Emily from Editorial Support ensured quality checks at every stage. A very versatile writing team.

I wrote for a holiday anthology with a group of friends who intended to publish with Premium Book Consultants in time for the 2025 holiday season. Unfortunately, we did not have a premium experience using this company and have requested a refund. Our issues included communication and the work product. Some of the editing appeared to be done with AI, and some appeared to be done by editors who weren't proficient in the language they were editing. Whatever the reason, the edits were strange, inconsistent, and frequently incorrect. This created hours of additional work for the authors involved in our anthology - fixing the editing done by these paid professionals.

Attempting to communicate about our concerns was strained; our point of contact changed multiple times without notice. Our author group had committed to publishing a holiday anthology and pressed forward - until PBC stopped communicating altogether for weeks at a time and apparently took a holiday break without so much as setting an out of office reply to notify their customers.

The project was ultimately self-edited and then self-published in time for our initial deadline. I would not recommend working with Premium Book Consultants.

Premium Book Consultants did a great job in getting my book ready for publication. The best things were the front and back covers for the book and the pictures being included with the book. A reviewer of my book mentioned that they would have liked captions with the pictures to name the people in the pictures. I thought that was a great suggestion and recommend that as an option for future books. The editing helped significantly, but I would have liked to know that I needed to approve the versions sooner. Knowing that would have sped that process up considerably. I love the book's format and the appearance and quality of both the paperback and hard cover. The publishing team did a great job, and I appreciate their help in allowing me to fulfill a lifetime dream.

I wrote a book on my family name Mahaffey to share with family and friends, but not for sale. PBC did a wonderful job editing and formatting the book. It included pictures of ancestors and places. It took a reasonable amount of time (about 6 weeks) to finish.

I hired them in January 2025 to illustrate and publish my daughter’s children’s book, paying a lot of money. They promised a 4–6 week timeline. It’s now been over six months — and the project is still incomplete.

The drafts they provided were sloppy, and when I asked for corrections, they never followed through. Worst of all, the project manager completely ghosted us. For the past two months, he has ignored every email and phone call. When I called the company directly, I was told multiple times he would “call me back in 15–20 minutes” — but no one ever called.

This company takes your money upfront and then disappears. Zero accountability, zero professionalism, zero customer service. Based on my experience, this feels like a scam operation.

If you are thinking of using Premium Book Consultants, don’t make the same mistake I did. Save your money and find a reputable company that actually delivers.

I am happy to now have my work published and available on Amazon, with the help of PBC. Communication was a bit of an obstacle (dialect, timely responses, etc.). However, the enhancements PBC made for my book cover were absolutely phenomenal. I provided a photograph and they produced. PBC did get the work done, and I am excited to have had the publishing experience. I appreciate PBC and their efforts.

Premium Book Consultants’ editing and proofreading service was top-notch. They carefully reviewed every page and made sure the book was polished, with no errors or inconsistencies. Their attention to detail helped elevate the quality of my work significantly.

This is my first time using PBC or any publishing company. David has been great and made the process smooth. I really appreciate his willingness to help a first-time author through the process without difficulty. I would definingly use PBC and David again for my future publishing needs.
