Had cause to visit Portsmouth Plus Group for an Echocardiograme.The Cardiac Sonographer was excellent, he reassured me throughout the procedure what would happen. After the procedure he said my results would be at my doctors within a week. I phoned my doctor after just over a week and spoke to a receptionist, she said no results were in but check on the NHS App in a few days. I checked but nothing was there so I phoned the Practice plus group and got an answering machine, it said they were busy, leave a message and we will get back to you. Waited untill the following day and phoned again, same message, we are busy, leave a message. Waited three days and phoned again, same message, we are very busy leave a message. Up untill now nobody from the hospital has had the decency to call back.

Speedy referral and quick appointment for hip replacement. (I elected to go private, rather than continue in pain.) Very helpful, caring and competent staff, who did their best to make the experience as comfortable as they could.

I would like to thank everyone who looked after me with my hip replacement on 6/6/26 from Mr.Miller who referred me , Mr. Hosny the surgeon , all the nurses and other medical staff , the radiographer,the physiotherapist ,domestics , receptionists and anyone else I may have missed. From my first appointment to discharge I could not have been treated any better. Having my surgery has given me my life back , before I couldn't do much and certainly couldn't go out and about, now I will be able to return to shopping, my clubs I belong to and my football Home matches and most of all my coach trips to my football club's away matches which I really enjoy . Thank you all again from my heart , Ann Greening . ( room 6 bed A)

From my first meeting to getting the op was quick. Everyone is friendly and caring. In the theatre they explain everything from start to finish. Made sure I was ok the whole time . Well done to everybody great place to go

Referred by my health practice for a hip replacement, and got an appointment on the 24th April 2026 for blood test and given a bottle of lotion, met with the Consultant. Thought I was on the waiting list for the op, turns out I wasn't. Called for another nurse visit for another blood test and given a questionnaire. Asked if I'd be on the waiting list , told 'no' the anaesthetist has to approve me then I will be contacted again to be on the waiting list. Still waiting (11th Jun), so I called to find out status. Waited in a phone queue for 58 mins and counting. Very unhappy and demoralised. Both visits to the hospital at Shepton Mallet could have been combined into one visit. The communication levels are non-existent. Meanwhile my pain levels are growing. I really think our health service is broken.
