Total Waste of Money

Coming across these online, they appeared to be close to genuine. I also realized that, when I received them, they didn’t have the same appearance as their website, which I think they deliberately hid from people to not reveal them. At any rate, when I received them, I immediately wanted to get a refund, but they refused to give me a refund. Till this day, I have yet to see a refund from them. Don’t buy these prop money. Look how low their ratings are. Had I known that their ratings were this low, I would not have done business with them, at all!

ZERO stars!!

ZERO stars!!! Just like many others, I created a profile only to have it suspended, with no explanation, before the anticipated transfer into my bank account had been made. Now, of course, I am terrified that they have my bank info (and my personal info) and I have NO WAY to cancel the account, delete the profile or take any action from the Popmoney end. This is a scam if I ever saw one. I can't believe it was recommended by a trusted credit union!

Confused as to why my bank used this antiquated service in the 1st place. I have had my bank account for about 3 years but have never needed to send money until last year. Sent funds to my mother who was asked to make a popmoney account and to answer ridiculous questions in the process. I was already upset at the 3 day lapse in her receiving her funds. My mother is in her 70s so the whole process took about a week. (HORRIBLE) Thank God it wasnt for her rent and she was in danger of being evicted.
A few months ago I was trying to pay a mechanic that did not have cashapp or venmo. Again 3 days for him to receive his funds? When people are zelling, venmoing and cashapping money immediately is absolutely asinine. Somehow the under $300 transaction was flagged for fraudulent activity. I had to call in to verify myself. The questions they asked were if I was trying to get a $500K mortgage or something instead of accessing my own money. I was told it would take 24hours to release the hold? WTH its already bad enough it takes 3 damn days. The hold was never released and the payment cancelled on its on.
A few days ago I realized a transfer I sent to my mother had failed. SMH..... but I had not been notified, and neither had my mother. She got a message saying the money was on the way, I got an email saying the transfer was initiated but nothing explaining the failure of this transaction.
I was already in the process of writing the CEO and board members of my bank in reference to not only this dumb ass company but some other issues as well, only to open a letter today stating that POPMONEY has decided to sever ties with my bank as of June 28th. Well today is June 11th so Im still confused WHY the transaction was cancelled.
My bank will still hear from me, however I hope this company decides to either do a serious revamp or just call it quits and throw in the towel.
Absolutely horrendous service.

A business that doesn't want your…

A business that doesn't want your business lol. From the moment you sign up you can tell this company is a P.O.S.

They instantly freeze your account; I'm guessing my phone number didn't give them the cavity search they needed to qualify me.

They tell you that you need to call them, at this point I start assuming selfie and ID. Which leads me to instantly close the account.

When I requested to close the account, the lady seemed extremely turned on, made me want to close the account again. If she didn't speak such perfect Spanglish, I would have thought she worked for PayPal, working off closure commission or something jeez.

I can't say my experience wasn't extremely horrible lol.

Worst experience ever

Worst experience ever. To start, I've used popmoney before with no issue. Also, both me and my girlfriend use the same bank. She's sent me money via popmoney before twice with no issue. Once again, same bank both times. This time was sheer stupidity and im not using this service ever again and I'll tell you why.
So, my girlfriend sends me my money and I get an email from popmoney telling me I need to log in to my bank account to deposit the money. I click the "log in to deposit" button in green and it takes me out of my email and into my banks' web site and from there I went to the portion of the web site that involves popmoney. I go there and theres nothing there; nothing but the options to pay bills, send and receive money. So, I spent part of my lunch at work and my break on the phone with my bank before im told that there's nothing they can do from their end and Im given the number to popmoney customer service and I call and end up on hold longer than I can take and I hung up. So, I try it again and this time, I'm able to accept the payment, but my girlfriend cancels it because she thought since I couldn't verify it, I wasn't going to receive it via popmoney.
So she sends me the money again and the same - I get the email talking and log in to deposit and I do that and nothing. Just the same screen and I call customer service again and Margaret answers and, instead of paying attention closely to what I was saying, the conversation goes from trying to get a problem solved to the problem being worsened because during the conversation Margaret did not understand what I was trying to tell her, thus listening to her tell me something that had nothing to do with my issue or her rather over talking than realizing what I meant. Also, to make me feel even more pissed off, she did not pay attention to the fact that I told her that ME AND MY GIRLFRIEND BANK AT THE SAME BANK!!!!!! Which means she could've simply looked up my girlfriends' info, see the issue, and save nearly an hour of going in circles on the phone.
With that said, after Margaret found the issue, which it took me telling her my girlfriend is literally sitting next to me with her bank account history pulled up on my laptop in a separate tab showing me where the transaction commenced on 4/20/2023. The main issue here is that Popmoney sent me an email saying if I dont log in and verify the money being sent, then it would be sent back to my girlfriend.
What was discovered after both me and my girlfriend both spoke with the customer service person is that there are multiple ways to send money through Popmoney, which is fine, but still, the question that was never answered is 'why can't I verify the transaction if Popmoney is emailing me telling me the money will be sent back? There wasn't a clear answer. Then, she said the first time, the money was sent to my email?? HOW???
I told her that I won't be using Popmoney ever again because Popmoney is not user friendly when it comes to ease of use or clarity on how to correctly use Popmoney or things we should be aware of as far as how Popmoney works with a bank. Both me and m girlfriend left the call upset. So, now I'm going to have to make this painful trip to my bank which is going to take two hours traveling to get done when, with Popmoney, it wouldve went into my account without the bank visit. Im ashamed of both my bank and Popmoney because neither Margaret@Popmoney nor First Mid Bank had any real idea why my money why I couldnt verify the money in the end despite how it was sent.
This is part of the reason Paypal and CashApp is more widely used - and I would rather use my bank so at least if anything goes wrong I'm covered, but instead, next time I'll just use paypal or have the cash given to me directly. Also, as far as customer service goes, it counts to know more so how to understand a problem and your customer than to just rattle off rules. That is to say, there's a difference in hearing versus listening. Never talk over your customer. A one sided, hour long conversation and no real answer to the main question? Even my girlfriend asked the same question and the response was about a transaction back in January!!! My girlfriend just handed me the phone and left the room. Skip Popmoney, and skip the stress. Also, don't assume your bank knows how Popmoney really works, because they don't. Mine didn't.

Non-Service

Years ago I had Popmoney through my bank at the time, and thought I'd sign up again to facilitate money transfers since my current bank doesn't offer such services.
I completed the sign up process but there is nothing on the site to initiate any kind of financial transactions. Their list of help links are also dead. I e-mailed them asking for help and later requesting they cancel my account yet have received no response. I then tried calling but no one answered the phone.
Popmoney is either a data mining site with no actual financial services or everyone quit and never shut it down, leaving it open to security breaches.
Now I'm wondering if I need to close my account and open a new one.

Someone hacked my parents bank account…

Someone hacked my parents bank account and used popmoney to empty their checking. Pop money wouldn’t do anything about it. They wouldn’t give us the information for the person we supposedly sent money to. They knew they were in the wrong and were trying to cover their own asses. They’re complicit in wire fraud and they don’t care. This company should be shut down.

If I could rate them negative 0 ...I would.. BEWARE

If I could rate them negative 0 I would. This is a bootleg money sending platform. My elderly father-in-law uses it I have no earthly clue where he found this crappy platform at but he's the only person that sends me money from them. Well he sent me money for a gift back in June 2022, my bank account had changed since signing up with them the previous Nov. I called them told them to send the money back to my FIL and they suspended my account. I called spoke to a rep, Allen and he tried to convince me that the reason for suspension was due to them NOT being able to deposit the funds. How stupid does that sound so not because ANYTHING fraudulent happened but because I told you to send the money back to my FIL. When I asked for corporate information he couldn't give me any information. I told him it's because this happens so often they get complaints regularly and have probably instructed employees to not give corporate information out, my suggestion is to tell anyone who will listen not to use them and get them shut down this is insane!

Account suspended without cause or a way to fix

My account was suspended and after calling and speaking to an agent twice, I don't have a reason or next steps that I can take to fix the situation other than to create a new account with new email/phone, which I will not do since this account experience has been a mess. I only used the service because the sender insisted.

Slow, cumbersome, not working

It's been days and I still haven't received my money. The only reason I used this service is that the sender insisted to send money this way. Next time I'm NOT going to accept using PopMoney, snail mailing a check will be much faster.

Does not work and horrible customer service

My parents wanted to use this to send money from their new account to mine. After multiple error messages when trying to deposit to my account i tried calling them, first try 30 minutes in the waiting room then hung up on never got through to a human. 2nd try 15 minutes in the waiting room then hung up on, 3rd try got through to someone and they said id get an email in 3 days to help, its been 7 days and still no email. I tried one last call and got through to someone who then terminated the call I "Was not answering". After that call i was done with them.

I literally hate this service so much

I literally hate this service so much. I signed up to receive payments from my family member as a graduation gift and have never experienced a worse website. Since I've signed up I have had nothing but problems. It constantly puts my account on hold for no reason and it takes days, if not weeks for it to be resolved. Once again, my account was put on hold after my family member sent the money and all while I was trying to fix it, the money she sent expired and she was at a loss for the money she sent me. Customer Service is AWFUL. IF they answer your call, they are rude and seemed annoyed. And the "if" is important because out of the many times I have called, they answered twice.

This is the worst service for sending…

This is the worst service for sending ACH payments through Bill pay on Affinity Federal Credit Union.

I canceled the payment they still sent it. My mother did all she needed through the email that was sent. No payment shows up in the account when she goes. They took the money out of my account. Now I have to wait 5 days to get the money back. Or pay 10.00 to stop the payment. The bank reps are no help.

I would give this half of a star if I could.

Restricted account unacceptable

My debit card was lost and I forgot to update it in the pop money system. When I went to log in in error I was putting in the incorrect password. I realize this is a "Red Flag". I called and they said it would take 2 business days. I called on the second business day and was told they were still working on resolving the problem. This is unacceptable when you are dealing with peoples lives and money. This should be able to be resolved on the day there was an issue.

Use anything else besides Popmoney

Warning!!!!

Warning!!!!! Negative Stars!!!!! Do not use this money transfer service. Not customer friendly. Only enrolled because my brother wanted to send me $. Guess what? Never worked and when I called, I was on hold for 31 minutes. Ugh!! 😣
