Shipped return to Slovenia at my expense, and they refused it

The filter did not fit in my laundry room and the extra filters had a bad smell to them. I contacted them and it took a very long time to hear from the founder, Mojca, who apologized and told me the only way to get a refund was to ship the unit and filters back to Slovenia at my expense - over $100, which I did. It took over month to get there. Then they refused the return package and sent it back to me.

Disappointing "upgrade"

The 2.0 system is a sorry disappointment.
-while I could routinely get 20 loads out of a 1.0 filter, the 2.0 pops up as full as early as 5 loads and I have never made it to 20. This is regardless of how I have the dial set.
-the dial is ridiculously inconvenient as it's way too easy to knock it out of position when trying to change filters or simply re-adhere the bracket
-the sticker provided for the bracket is nowhere near strong enough to keep the filter in place
-changing the filter is much harder - I used to be able to do it alone but so far it's taken a team every time (often because it disengages from the top when unscrewing the bottom, so I have to fish it out of the full base while also trying to hold onto the top - our laundry room doesn't have clearance to allow leaving the unit on the washer while disassembling)
-draining/drying the soft filter is much less convenient than the rigid filter
-past experience in registering for replacement filters on my subscription has inevitably required additional communiques with customer support to actually receive them

If I could switch back I would. I am seriously contemplating abandoning the system entirely and switching to a different filtration solution affixed to my greywater entry point rather than this. I can't imagine why their testing teams thought this would improve user experience.

I would strongly urge anyone…

I would strongly urge anyone considering the filter system to think twice before signing up for a subscription. I don't have any problem with the filters themselves, but even with four people in our household, we haven't finished using three filters (in five months). It ends up being very pricey.

I don't know what it means that the filters have lasted so long, in terms of whether or not they're doing what they purport to do. I'm a huge fan of eliminating microplastics, and I'll probably continue to use these, but the price for a subscription can be quite prohibitive.

If a cartridge lasts longer, it usually means your laundry is releasing fewer microfibers – which is actually a positive sign.

Commercial version used on ship

Coming from the domestic microplastic filtration system, we are now using the commercial version on board. It works a charm, none of the collecting cartridges and sending them across the world anymore. Really handy to use on a vessel that goes around the globe. Great job!

Not impress with customer service and…

Not impress with customer service and the website. Order in the UK could not pay in pounds..
Contacted customer service. Very slow. Will be easier to sop using it than ordering new filters... a shame really :(

Great product, especially the filter version 2.0 with automatic clogged filter detection and filter bypass for natural fiber cleaning.

Easy way to be a part of the solution, not the problem

Version 2 of PlanetCare's filter system is a lot more convenient and refined than the first version. No more getting water pump errors on the washing machine because the filter needs replacing. Also the filters themselves seem to be much more simple.

If you wash a lot of synthetic fabrics (which is basically everyone, but especially those with an active lifestyle), this is a great way to greatly reduce your microplastics footprint.

Upgrade for my filter

This was an upgrade purchase for my washing machine filter. The new filter was a bit fiddly to install as the double sided tape isn’t strong enough for the weight of the filter so I had to move it to attach with screws but it works brilliantly and is much better than v1.

The filter works well without any…

The filter works well without any leaks. The filter was flexible in how and where it was installed. I had to install it on the side wall adjacent to my LG front load washer, due to lack of room. I used the screws to install into the wall rather than sticking the filter to the machine.

Simple and effective

I ordered in Honolulu, Hawaii and received my package in Sydney, Australia. It took a bout a month. I was flummoxed by the system, took about a month to get over my fear, watched the videos a couple of times, and did it!! It is now stopping microplastics entering my upcycled water system. I can now worry less about synthetics, especially in socks and underwear! Thank you, Planetcare for a simple, effective system

Don’t know how you do it!!

You are doing your utmost to make it easy for us to install and replace the plastic filters on washing machines. Don’t know how you do it for the upfront cost! Power to all our elbows!!
