I cancelled a routine flu vaccine appointment within a day of booking and received no service, yet 50% of the payment was withheld as a “deposit.” The payment was still pending in my bank at the time I cancelled, which made it even more frustrating that the refund wasn’t issued in full.

During the booking process, I ticked a box, but the terms stating that I would lose half of my money were not clearly shown on the screen — they were only accessible if you scrolled to the bottom of the website. At no point during booking was it made clear or highlighted that cancelling a simple flu vaccine would result in losing 50%.

Most companies - including restaurants and clinics with actual deposits - show far more understanding and flexibility when plans change, especially when the cancellation is quick and no service has been provided. The lack of empathy in this situation stood out.

Instead of resolving the issue, there were lengthy and defensive email responses, even mentioning “defamation,” which felt unnecessary given that all I was doing was questioning why half of my payment was taken for an appointment I never attended. Considering the time spent emailing back and forth, it would have been quicker and more professional to simply return the money.

This review reflects my honest experience so others are fully aware of how cancellations and communication are handled before booking.

Its really important I leave this review so all potential customers understand how no due consideration is applied to returning a customers money. My daughter aged 17 booked this appointment (for a flu vaccine at a cost of £29.99) in error not realizing how far away the clinic was therefore there was no way she could make the appointment time based on travel time and school timetable so cancelled following day upon realizing this. The company have still kept £14.99 of my daughter's money and constantly just refer her to terms and conditions with no empathy or understanding of the error which was made and cancellation was made very promptly upon establishing this. We have never experienced such unpersonal or lack of understanding service from another company like this ever. Good luck if you ever make a cancellation with this company and want your money bank - just endless emails referring you to T&Cs no empathy or morals whatsoever. No doubt they will take more time to reply with this again referring to T&Cs than actually just taking a step back and look at the situation and return her money (the remaining £14.99) in full. So glad i left this review as you will see reply again re referring to T&Cs and retaining 50% of my daughters money - they state in company overview encourage customer feedback hence i am doing this as its so important any customer is fully aware of what can happen if you make a mistake (as stated previously we could not get to clinic within the opening times stated) and book and want to cancel.

Vicky and the clinic staff are amazing at what they do. I have been going here for years for all of my vaccinations as well as pharmacy advice and would recommend to anyone!

I’ve had some really positive experiences with this pharmacy -- both through their online appointments and in person. The online consultations have been smooth and supportive, and today’s in-person vaccine appointment was just as good.

Sally and Vicky have both been incredibly helpful, and I really appreciate how disability-positive and respectful they are. It makes a big difference to feel genuinely welcomed and understood.

Training in this premises has been very educational and serving the local community of edinburgh has given me lots of lovely memories! Working along Vicky, Sally and Sunera has been fab- a clean pharmacy with lots of services ranging from skin to weight care!
