TLDR

TLDR: pw.com advertised an item, sent me a different item in its place without telling me, claimed that the item advertised on their website wasn't actually available in the first place, and then refused to comp me for my wasted time and effort.

I went scouring the internet looking for a chew ring that my dog already has, but in a different color. The one he has is dark brown and blends into my dark carpet, making it a tripping hazard. PetsWarehouse was the only site I could find that had the ring in a very light beige color, which would have been perfect, so I ordered two. However, what arrived was two chew rings in the same dark brown color I already have.

I contacted the company to ask why they sent a product different from the one I ordered (per their request, I also sent them pictures showing that the product number advertised on their site and the product number on my invoice matched) and they told me that the chew ring was only available in the dark brown color. I explained why I needed a different color and asked for a refund without having to send back the items (after all, they mislead me, sent me something I didn't order, and claimed that the beige color was *never* available-- so why would I waste more time sending the items back? To me, allowing me to keep the items seemed like a reasonable thing to ask after having just been duped with false advertising).

However, the "customer satisfaction" rep that messaged me back told me that I would need to send back the items and, condescendingly, that they would need to be "inspected for condition" before I'd be given back the money that was wrongfully taken from me in the first place. Then, to top it all off, the person patronizingly tried to throw it in my face that I shouldn't want to keep them because I didn't want the brown color-- YES, EXACTLY. How convenient that it suddenly became important to petswarehouse.com that I should have the item I thought I was getting in the first place just as I'm calling them out for trying to pull a switcheroo on me.

The rep made some kind of anemic offer to "waive the shipping," but left it absolutely unclear as to whether they meant they'd refund the shipping I'd already paid to have them ship me an item I never ordered, or that they'd waive the shipping for sending the dishonestly sold item back to them-- how generous, right? In either case, I've decided that continuing to engage with this fly-by-night operation is no longer worth my time, and I would advise that anyone reading this review make the same determination.

I would never recommend buying a puppy…

I would never recommend buying a puppy from here. All of their dogs are from puppy mills and have health issues. They sold me a dog with pneumonia and told me he was fine. I had $3000 in veterinary bills by the end of his treatment. They did not care about his health or how he was doing through out the process. They tried to fight and not pay for the dog but ended up paying the bills in the end. This is not a store who cares about making puppies happy, they just was to make money. I can not say this enough, never buy a puppy from here.

I will never use this company again

I will never use this company again! 1st I ordered a large dog harness and got a small. Then the product broke after a week. Sent an email about it. Got a response that basically said they did not have the item in the size I initailly requested (great to know after htey sent me the wrong product and charged me for it). Then after asking for a refund or new product she said she would get back to me in a day. Now it is 2 weeks later! I can make suggestions on how to throw your money away better than giving it to these guys!

Rip off artists.

Ordered tiki cat venison. That charged $50 for 12 cans. Everywhere else charges $25. Didn’t notice until i later looked at invoice to return because the food was spoiled with dark patches and cat wouldn’t touch it. It is favorite food and he never turns it away. They wouldn’t let me return.

Once Bitten Twice Shy!

The only reason they get a one is because I can't give a zero. I to wish I would have read the reviews before ordering. I was in need of 2 replacement doors for a 40 gal exo terra double door reptile terrarium. Looked up the replacement doors which only have Parr #'s no dimensions, they showed the doors with 3 different part #'s, and it said nothing about them not being in stock. So I ordered 2 doors, after the order went through then it said they were out of stock. So I emailed them and was told that they had no idea how long it would be. I asked them why it didn't state that they were out of stock on the site, why they took my money if there was no product to send. I was told that they just placed a hold on the amount. The order was placed on March 5th and I received it about 2 1/2 weeks later, but they are way to small. So again I contacted them, I paid $12.07 for shipping, and she told me on the phone that I could return them for $25. Obviously this is common practice from this company. I will not be returning anything at Double what I paid to have it shipped then turn around and reorder the correct ones and pay shipping again. They don't really seen to care anything about their reputation as a business or about their customers. The customer service is the worst which I also see seems to be the norm. Just another bunch of scammers. It's such a shame so few buisnesses takes pride in what they do anymore. Extremely disappointing in how they handled the situation.

Not Reputable!

When I ordered the Honest Kitchen Liver Treats, from Pets Warehouse, it was not on back order. Additionally, they did not SAY BACK ORDERED on their site, as other sites do, if the order is not in stock. In fact, it said in stock! I logged into the site to view my order because I never even received a tracking number from, to find the items are back ordered!!! SERIOUSLYThey didnt think that was something a customer might need to know???? They charged my credit card!? I am very dissatisfied with the way they choose to run their business. I could have ordered from another store, but I chose theirs. Now, I never received my order and the other sites are now sold out! This is a very shoddy way to run a business. My husband used to own a huge publicly traded company on the NY Stock Exchange. If anyone in his company conducted business in the manner in which Pets Warehouse operate, they would have been fired immediately! Shame on them for being dishonest! I am leaving this review as I would never again purchase anything from this entity. They never even answered my emails!

Long delivery

I originally didn't hear from the company for 2 weeks, nor was the shipping ever updated. I never got a respond from the company but oddly enough my order randomly arrived. So I guess it wasn't a scam but if you are looking to get something by a certain time I would plan ahead.

There’s no option here to NOT give any stars. I purchased an item (replacement bowl) for my cats on June 14, 2021. I received a faulty/defective item and emailed them regarding the situation. After multiple email exchanges they finally said they would send me another bowl after 2 weeks. I patiently waited and nothing. I emailed them about a month later following up on the status only to find out “They are currently in back order from the manufacturer. As soon as it is available, we will ship it out to you right away.” That last email was July 31st. It is now December 2nd. This is by far one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever dealt with. I wish I saw all of these other multiple reviews regarding this site so I never would have been placed in this situation in the first place. But I too was a customer who only found what I needed specifically on this site. It’s very unfortunate! FUTURE BUYERS BEWARE!

Worst customer service ever

Worst customer service ever. Tried many times to get answers. Joanne said she'd call back. Instead she left for the day. They don't answer email. I'd guess almost anyone else provides better customer service than they do. Shop elsewhere and save yourself a whole lot of grief!

Great Customer Service

I received a phone call from Joanne today following up on my order yesterday. Joanne was kind and courteous and assisted me with my questions and issues. Her attention to detail made me a Pets Warehouse customer for life. Joanne made me feel important and understood my needs. With the plethora of pet stores and web sites available to purchase from, I only be purchasing from Pets Warehouse!

Terrible customer service, SHOP ELSEWHERE

I am very disappointed in the customer service or rather lack of customer.service with this company, I made a purchase of a Kong Jumbler, actually 2, one to five as a gift, 1 to keep, my dog has a basket full of Kong toys, I gave my dog his and within 20 minutes the squeaker was destroyed and the Kong was in pieces. I LEFT 2 voice mail messages and emailed customer support, I recieved an automated response that I would be contacted by customer service in 24-48 hours. That was 5 days ago and I have heard NOTHING. I am glad this purchase was small and I found out how bad they treat their customers before I spent more money.

Customer service means something to me, evidently it doesn't to them.

My recommendation is spend your money elsewhere

Never ordering again..wish I read these reviews before

I was optimistic when I saw they had my pet's food in stock and even paid the extra charge for next day shipping...it has been 3 days and I have not gotten 1 update regarding my purchase. No shipping details or tracking number, I don't even know if the item is in stock or not. I have called multiple times - no one picks up and emailed 3 times, still no response. Super frustrating and annoying to have to deal with. Never again ordering from them. Buy somewhere else

I ordered an item in may. I was told it was on back order and would take 3-15 days to ship. It’s been 3 months and still no item. They also can’t tell me when I’ll get it. I will be disputing the charges. Don’t order from them. Seems to be a scam.
